My Last Day
On my last day of work at a nursing and rehabilitation facility as a CNA, I discovered how much of an impact a helthcare provider can have on a person. Word had gotten around to the residents that it was my last day. I was making my rounds, like I would any other day during my shift, and a resident I took care of rolled up to me in her wheelchair. She then bear hugged me from the side and said to me, "I just want you to know that ever since you started working here, my life has been so much better and brighter. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me. I'm going to miss you, because you have the biggest heart out of anyone I've ever met." Her words are what help inspire me to keep serving others. I will never forget her or the way I felt during that moment.
The struggle of finding the right temperature while bathing a resident
Waking up residents like
When family members try to tell you how to do your job.
Me inside:
When you smell a BM coming from one of your patients.
Has anyone else tried the thickened liquids for patients with dysphagia? If so, did you actually like it 😂?
When you finish your rounds and all of the residents are dry.
"Why did you use a whole package of wipes one one resident?"
Me:
When your resident hits their call light every 3 minutes.
When your resident's diaper needs to be changed after you just put a new one on
Definitely beyond👌
