Danny had been permanently disabled by an invention his parents had made to kill Phantom. He changed his name and moved to Gotham after he recovered in the Infinite Realms for a bit. He became a late night DJ since people even in Gotham stared at the scars. Plus doing an advice hour a few times a week seemed to help his obsession. Danny felt for the youngest Robin. Ghosts in Gotham loved to gossip. He felt for all of the Bats and Birds even if he'd hung up his own cape.

Danny had been hearing about Red Hood for a bit. The latest was a former building manager named Bill who was worried about the vigilante. Danny hovered listening to the other man talk at the graveside. It was then he noticed the other man felt a bit like a citizen of the Infinite Realms already. Not a halfa but not fully alive either. Danny decided that meant Red Hood fell under his protection. Gotham better beware.

A giant ghost with six eyes was for sure not what he thought his first fight with them would be. But he wasn't going to let it kill John.
