Kill the stereotype that INTPs are all emotionless robots.
I thought those were INTJ's. INTP's are asocial butterflies...
happy birthday to me
One year ago, I became dissatisfied with posting INTX thing on Instagram and I crossed over into tumblr territory. And I am glad as hell I did. I love all of my followers, every single one of you, with your quirky names and witty posts (except you, porn bots. fuck you.)

Happy birthday!

INTP superpowers
Knowing another person’s insecurities and using that to their advantage when necessary.
Randomly disappearing for various lengths of time and then reappearing like nothing happened.
Answering questions asked to them 20 minutes earlier in a conversation like it’s completely normal.
The ability to completely disconnect from the concept of time. It’s 11PM and seemingly minutes later it’s 3AM.
Coming to a conclusion or answer without being able to explain how they know the correct answer.
Knowing a person’s shoe preference because eye contact is hard.
Offending all of the people without even trying to do so or knowing they have done so.
Saying something creepy, rude or sexual without realizing what they’ve said until it’s too late.
Stuttering when asked a basic question like “how are you?”, but not even breaking a sweat when explaining a complex theory.
Singing to themselves or to their pets and making weird faces for no reason (or maybe that’s just me :/).
ISFJ and INTP interaction
I know that INFJ and INTP are the Golden Pair (or something like that). But did you ever consider that ISFJ and INTP also work well together?
They kind of complement each other. The ISFJ is completely content to squeal and have feelings, but isn’t comfortable to do it around other people. The INTP loves to figure out concepts, but there aren’t a lot of people kind enough to just sit and listen to the INTP spout about the non-nonsense.
The fact is, the INTP is usually pretty chill about listening to someone else’s feelings, IF the feelings are not too ridiculous. And the ISFJ is practical enough to have “logical” feelings, if you know what I mean. The ISFJ’s emotions are contained enough to be observable to the INTP, and the INTP can usually make observations about the ISFJ’s feelings that won’t offend ISFJ.
As for the INTP, the ISFJ doesn’t mind listening to the constant stream of blather proceeding from the mouth of the INTP, because the ISFJ is interested in everybody, no matter how crazy a person might be.
Of course, it helps that both types tend to be extremely introverted (as in, more introverted than other introverted types). They don’t mind spending a lot of time alone or just with each other, and when they get together, their world starts to rumble.
I’d also say that the ISFJ can bring out the emotions of the INTP, and the INTP can bring out the logic of the ISFJ. They both help to round each other out.
In other words, the kindness of the ISFJ mixes well with the quirkiness of the INTP, and, frankly, I would suggest that they make a perfect pair of friends.
I tried a romantic relationship with an isfj and it didn't work. I don't recommend it. After the brake up with all isfj's i met irl I couldn't have any conversation beyond small talk and those conversations always ended with an awkward silence.

Why the types are dangerous: INTP edition
They have sarcasm at a level that could peel paint
They can come up with the best insults
Have a way of making you doubt something you were sure about
^^^ They don’t even have to say anything. Their facial expressions are enough
If you’re wrong about something they will call you out about it in front of everyone
Once you have entered the realm of subject they have studied, they will know infinitely more than you and they will make sure you know that too
If they are angry with you, expect to show up dead on the streets tomorrow or perhaps the bottom of a river
So I'm stuck among ISTP, ENTP, INTP, ESTP (S/Ne-dom/aux). Anyway, because of that I've been reading the masterposts, and I would often come across the line "poor attention to practical details". Could you state examples or expand further? What exactly are these things considered as "practical details"? How do Se-doms/auxes handle these "practical details" in contrast with how Ne-dom/auxes handle them?
Poor attention to practical details stems from low Si. When Si is underdeveloped people have difficulty learning and doing things in an orderly way because of an inability to properly connect concrete details temporally or sequentially. I know an ENFP who got a newfangled coffee maker for xmas and the thought of opening up the instruction manual and reading through the technical setup rules and carrying out the steps successfully caused her so much anxiety that the machine sat in the corner for months until some kind soul helped her with it. Even then, she became anxious that she would not be able to follow the four steps for making the coffee. NPs with underdeveloped Si generally have trouble seeing how things should be done according to an already well-established method, and this can lead to frequent (repeated) mistakes. They often have lofty ideas and plans and goals but cannot carry them out smoothly because of overlooking important logistical details. I know an ESTJ who takes trips with her adult INTP son, she must handle all of the planning such as booking tickets, calling ahead to hotels, making sure there is enough time to get to the airport, checking weather and travel conditions, making sure that they are packed and dressed such that they can get through airport security smoothly, and so on. If it were left up to him, he’d probably miss the flight because of getting pulled aside by airport security or not arriving in time to properly check in or not being able to get a taxi at the last minute or forgetting his ID or wallet at home, etc etc. SPs can be bad with details too but they tend to learn more quickly from mistakes because they respond well to direct negative feedback which helps them to avoid repeating an error. They are Sensors and understand practical details better so they are able to sequence information better in terms of forming an accurate understanding of what went wrong and how things should be changed next time around, especially if they have the assistance of healthy Ti.
How do NPs even survive
You will find NP's on the floor, dying.

Game of Thrones MBTI
Get pumped for the new season by exploring the personality types of the characters! (Not all characters typed because they aren’t long enough for a personality type or they aren’t on long enough to be of consequence. Also, I haven’t type Theon yet.)
Counsil MBTI
House Stark MBTI
House Lannister MBTI
House Tyrell MBTI
Targaryen and Company MBTI
Other Game of Thrones MBTI:
Samwell Tarcy ISFJ
Brienne of Tarth ISTP
Stannis Baratheon ISTJ
Missandei INFJ
Isn't there a subtle pattern that all Te/Si using characters eventually die and Ti using characters manage to live in GoT series?
Thanks!

Reblog this with the FIRST type you got and the type you classify as now. MBTI story and ‘in-between’ types optional
>just wanna se if there’s a connection.
Took several tests at once to maximize accuracy, got INTP on the first but INFP on some of the others, did some reading/sorting which made me conclude that I am most definitely a T.
In hindsight, I believe it resulted from a mix of being a Ne sbtype and 5w4, with the tritype most likely to be misindentified as a bit more on the ish side, so it all makes sense.
Very very first one, I got infj, but then infp pretty much every time after that 😛
Got INTJ first and repeatedly, and I think I got ESTJ once. I’m an ISTJ with pretty heavy Te use (I should also point out that I first took the test at age 18 or 19)
I got INFP the very first time I took the test, and currently I’m typing as an ENFP but I typed as an INTP and an ENTP before this – starting to think I might use Ti after all (maybe even in the dominant position but idk), so I’m still not sure aside from almost definitely having high Ne.
Got INFP first, then ISFP, then INTP, then INTJ, then ISTP, then ENTP and I stuck with that for a long time. Then my friends helped me realize I’m an ESTP by suggesting it. At first I thought they were on crack but then I started to see their point.
I also believed I was a 4w5 for a long time (very common mistype of 7w6, especially sx 7w6) and I have anxiety so naturally I doubted that I was an extrovert: much less, an extroverted thinker. I fit the stereotypes of xSFP way better than xSTP but when you go back to cognitive functions there is 0 Fi in me lmao. But tbh I wouldn’t be shocked if I’m ISTP.
ENFP around 13, ENTJ around 16, as an adult I discovered I have been an ENTP the whole time.
Intp from the beginnig sometimes i got intj but i am %99 intp because i have a few intj examples around me i do have a logical approach but not as cold as an intj. I sometimes have intuitive leaps and get visions from no where that quite bothered me if i had Ni somewhere but i did read a some enthusiast article that 6 th function is often used and thats Ni for intp. From that point i never had a doubt that i am an intp.
I don’t know about the rest of you, mbti bloggers, but I’m sick of having to scroll down through countless of personal posts on the mbti tags in order to finally find a good post. Fandoms were smart enough to create tags to track specific content for them to reblog without spending hours going down a tag, so why not implement this idea to the MBTI community? Not only will this make our blogging more effective but it will also help anyone who doesn’t have an MBTI blog but wants to access educative posts (or for those who prefer it, memes) about their type more easily. Here are the tags I’ve come up with:
mbtitag: any post of any kind (either informative or ‘types as’ ‘mtl likely’ etc) related to the mbti community
for specific types, add ‘tag’ after the type. ex: istptag
for specific functions, add ‘tag’ after the function. ex: nitag
16tag: for posts aimed at all types
mbtitheory: if post has educational purposes
mbtimisc: if post is ‘types as’ + ‘mtl likely’ + meme + any post with entertainment purposes
I hope enough people make use of this system for it to work! Please, if you do, only use these tags if suitable. If your post is personal or not aimed at the MBTI community (aka created to be either informative or reblogged) DO NOT use the tags. This is meant to make people’s blogging as fast and effective as possible.
Please reblog to spread this!
INTP Confession #108
I am, by nature, a very lonely person. Loneliness is as much of a part of me as my lungs or spleen. No one I have ever met has been able to fully relieve my inherent loneliness.
Ti Dominant: I have all the knowledge. Resistance is futile. Resistance against the superiority of my brain, that is.
Ti Auxiliary: And I’ll use all that knowledge to BLOW STUFF UP YOLO. :D
Ti Tertiary: Or help the human race?
Ti Inferior: I KNOW I’M IRRATIONAL BUT I REFUSE TO ACCEPT IT. TRUTH WHAT TRUTH THIS IS A PLACE OF BLISSFUL SELF-DELUSION.
