listen to me. this is my final message to you. when you are at your lowest a fictional guy will come to you and when that happens you must start putting them in situations. this is the meaning of life.

@one-true-thing

If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.
Reblog to save for later. Your WIP will thank you.
we were robbed never getting to see sophie and harry kiss.
I need to take something!
Nervous Harry is adorable…
So how do you think Sophie’s coping with a man who says please and sorry with no hesitation, and even has the audacity to deploy puppy dog eyes?
You guys think she’s doing okay?
#a well-dressed man who owns a comb has manners and worships the ground she walks on?#she’s got to be reeling rn
omg @cminerva‘s tags HE OWNS A COMB
Honestly any excuse to roast Nate’s hair. And overall appearance, tbh. I personally found him attractive (most of the time) and he was absolutely capable of pulling together a look, but most of the time he was just this side of slovenly. And hey, you do you man EXCEPT you’ve got this gorgeous woman on your arm. I mean at least do something with your hair!
And then we have Harry who’s got his own skeletons but is emotionally available, dresses just as fashionably and thoughtfully as Sophie herself, and oh yeah…brushes his fucking hair! Sophie is probably dizzy right now.
I am trying to write a fic while referring to an episode to get details right, but unfortunately I have paused on a frame of Sophie Devereaux and I keep getting distracted just staring at her.
Like, Gina Bellman has to know the power she has, right? Right? My gods, I hope she knows. Damn.
If I remember correctly, the guy who played Dubinich had similar words after filming with her.
But yeah.
Ooh yeah I remember seeing that somewhere. Honestly, props to him for getting a single line out.
It occurs to me that I have followers who won't have seen Leverage/Redemption so have some other people's gifs.
...you understand.

if we were only gonna get 10 episodes of leverage redemption season 3 i think one of those episodes should have been about Harry and Breanna catching a case during the college visit road trip and they not only have to avoid the mark discovering what they're doing but they also have to make sure Becky doesn't.
