i hope the other telescopes and space probes aren’t feeling too jealous of all the attention james webb is getting from nasa lately
Reminds me of when NASA had to purposely crash the Cassini probe and her scientists started crying when she broke apart.
Trust me, Hubble still gets lots of love. Astronomers get very attached to their instruments.
For context, Cassini was sent to study Saturn, but they were worried about her contaminating it’s moons once her battery died, so they sent her into Saturn’s atmosphere so she could lay forever with her planet.
NASA cares so much about their instruments. They nickname their rovers and give them family portraits. They taught them how to sing Happy Birthday. When an instrument goes down, they cry. They filled the Voyagers with tons of remnants of our home even though we’ll never see them again. They gave all of them names. Our robots know so much love and gratitude and they’ll never know loneliness.
I needed to see this, and so do you.
Hey look, I drew Harvey after like *looks at fake calendar* two years
Felt like messing around with a brush and Harvey's form again

kinda miss sitting in restaurants with my friends loudly having what is clearly the weirdest conversation the couple two tables over has heard all week and pretending not to notice them chuckle at my jokes but making sure to throw in enough exposition to give them context if they’re still listening
Screaming in pain covered in blood trying to put the fitted sheets on the bed
Teaching children to always obey adults is grooming them for abuse.
Teaching children to accept unwanted physical contact (spanking, required hugs and kisses from family, required sitting on Santa's lap, etc) is grooming them for abuse.
Teaching children to take "mature" as a compliment and "immature" as an insult is grooming them for abuse.
Ignoring children's struggles, which could cause them to idolize the first adult who listens to them, is grooming them for abuse.
And people who do that on a regular basis believe that teaching children that some people have two dads is grooming. They never actually cared about protecting children from grooming.
off topic but I feel like my followers will appreciate.... Some kid in my neighborhood is spreading the good word about warrior cats in the best way they know how and I'm obsessed

Hey! Update on this! She's doing MUCH better and I actually saw her live at PAX East this year (2022) - she gave a talk at a panel and answered questions and she was doing great, and she was telling us how she's slowly relearned everything she forgot. Just to alleviate the worries I see in the notes 💖
