Re: drawing something gory and dramatic, have you considered ares/gregor vs the bane?
Omg it is so interesting that you mention that bc I have a very dramatic short comic in progress that’s about some aftermath of that event.
It stems from me thinking about how the Bane tore open Gregor’s armor like a can opener to a can of vegetables. And I was like ‘hm I wonder how Luxa would react to seeing that armor while he’s in the middle of life saving surgeries- and how she would handle realizing how bad his injuries are while things are still uncertain’ And so I am evil and I sketched it out >:o) also Mareth is there bc i like mareth and feel like he and luxa saw a lot of each other as the war came to an end.

Hamnet being the only person to treat Gregor like the child he is because he has a son Gregor's age, but also projecting his own self loathing and fear of his son turning out anything like Gregor has been forced to become. He pities Gregor but already accepts him as a lost cause to violence and Regalia's warmongering.
in all seriousness though a fandom doesn't die when there's no new episodes or games or "content" to play with and it doesn't die because people aren't as loud as the day it first came out either. if you're still creating then the fandom is alive. if your mutual who has since moved on still reblogs a post about it every four months then the fandom is alive. if there is even one person out there still engaging in, creating for, or just enjoying that show or that game or those characters, then the fandom is alive.
"fresh content" isn't the soul of a fandom. you are.
- So Gregor is now flailing through the air, trying not to land on his two year old sister (Suzanne’s really bringing a two year in this)
- there’s a bunch of white mist, and Gregor is terrified while Boots is just screaming “wheee!”, and Gregor’s just like “He felt scared enough for the both of them.”
As someone with a little sister this is so real, they have no fear of death, especially at that age.
- eventually Gregor just assumes he’s in a dream (so would I tbh), but eventually he just loses speed and kinda floats to the ground, somehow he doesn’t die or get seriously injured.
- Gregor is then faced with a giant cockroach, he’s stronger than me, I’d have run away screaming. The cockroaches calls his sister a queen, he laughs and when asked why he just like
“Because, we're, like, poor and she's kind of a mess” which is so real, but why are all of Suzanne’s main characters poor, he’s not even in a dystopian world.
- the roaches take them, which they call overlanders cause they live on the surface to the other humans while he doesn’t get on, he holds his sisters hand while she rides on the cockroach, and he somehow manages to keep up with the giant ass cockroach as he does track which is impressive because i can’t keep up with a regular one, those fuckers are fast.
- they then arrive at a stadium with giant flying bat playing a game with a lot of humans in the audience, and Boots immediately tries to get the ball that the players are using while Gregor tries to make sure she is not bowled by a giant bat.
- she is very enamoured by the bat, and Gregor is just like
“Geez!" thought Gregor. "Doesn't anything scare her?”
Which is real, as an older sister I love the sibling dynamics in thg, prim with katniss, Sid with haymitch, even tigress with Snow, they are honestly really adorable even Snow and Tigress’s dynamic at first, but Gregor and his siblings just encapsulates the love, fear and intrinsic annoyance of having a younger sibling.
- he then realises the bat has a girl riding it and she just double backflips to the ground and just catches the ball. I can feel the girlboss energy through the pages. And thats the end of the chapter.
