Ok. See in my head where were going with that original post was earth blowing covid 19 germs at Mars, infecting the Martians, and thus allowing you to steel their land.

Though I would like to assure you that you don’t come off as someone who would support mass genocide and land grabs like that. So I was very confused.

In comparison us giving them an atmosphere with our breath makes a lot more sense and it’s very in character for you.

Oh, no, I’m definitely not plotting an offensive War of the Worlds! Though I do like the idea of literally breathing life into Mars, if it’s not there already… but given how fragile coronaviruses are, they would make poor seeds for future Martian lifeforms.

I’m sure we have already contaminated Mars with our insufficiently sterilized spacecraft, but there is something romantic about the idea of giving the red planet the seeds of life in the form of a communicable disease.

Uhhhhhhhhhh guys Mars already has an atmosphere and it’s already like 95% carbon dioxide.

Mars’ atmosphere is a tiny fraction of Earth’s atmosphere and it will need to be tremendously increased before any meaningful terraforming can begin. CO2 is something we have an excess of and which works well as a greenhouse gas. Think of this as the foundational layer—before we can begin building the atmosphere with favorable elements, it needs to have stability and insulation. We won’t need to worry about oxygen for a while yet… at this point any residential Martian terraformists will be living under biodomes or in underground bunkers for many generations.

Did you guys know Elon Musk sent that STUPID car into space without sterilizing it, and if it hadn’t gone off it’s intended path, and it had reached mars as he intended, it could have permanently ruined the search for life on Mars by contaminating the red planet with Musk‘s cooties. This may sound silly to you but I assure this is very real and serious. He could have ruined the entire field of astrobiology all for his stupid advertisement. Let’s kill him
