wake up twin new blackxwhite hair doomed yaoi just got animated !
Oh cool I guess my rant about Legend of Aang not going to theaters was my 10,000th post, that’s neat
Paramount pulling The Legend of Aang from theaters is WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT GLITCH GOT TADC INTO THEATERS.
An INDIE ANIMATION got into THEATERS and sold 5 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH of ticket presales in FOUR DAYS.
The Avatar franchise has been so badly fucked over for YEARS. Because Paramount doesn’t actually give a SHIT about it, all they care about is MONEY. Avatar is a franchise with a HUGE fanbase, but because its animation for a slightly older audience they SINCERELY DONT THINK it can generate enough money to be worth investing in.
(And yes we can argue that Avatar is a “kids” show but when I say slightly older audience I mean this show isn’t like a Disney movie or Paw Patrol or Bluey okay?)
So studios like Glitch giving us these animated series that go widely popular are SO IMPORTANT. They are proving that animated stories for slightly older audiences can be extremely successful. And the fact that they got it into theaters is HUGE. Paramount could be making money off this IP but they sincerely don’t think people would buy tickets to see it in theaters.
And I keep seeing people wanting Avatar studios to go independent or stand up to Paramount somehow. THEY CANT REALLY DO THAT because Paramount OWNS the intellectual property that is the Avatar franchise. The creators don’t own it. Paramount could destroy Avatar studios and let the IP collect dust and there’s nothing we can do about that. Look at what EA games did to the Alice franchise. American McGee was able to develop and entire video game bible through Patreon support, people WANTED this game, but because EA owns the IP and didn’t want to do anything with it, we will NEVER see that game.
Paramount needs to open its fucking eyes and see what they have! IM SO ANGRY ABOUT IT. Do better!!!
Jumping off of this, I’ve heard people discussing that Paramount didn’t choose to not release in theaters because they thought no one would go. Actually, it’s the opposite.
They know how popular this franchise is. They are WELL aware. And they know people will pay to see the movie. They just want to force people to subscribe to their streaming platform (arguably one of the least popular streaming platforms). Which is a whole other level of shitty corporate behavior. It sucks for the people who created the movie. It’s sucks for the fandom. It just sucks.

Am I the ONLY person who doesn’t like Qifrey’s English voice? :( I’m sorry it’s just too deep and sultry, it doesn’t match him at all :(
He sounds like one of those YouTube roleplay videos “your boyfriend reads you a bed time story” or some shit. He sounds like he’s in a constant state of pillow talk. Like yes okay it’s a sexy voice but I just don’t think Qifrey would sound like that… the Japanese VA is much closer to what I imagined for him.
no more sex. we ran out of sex
The community guideline violation pic is arguably more funny than whatever the original response to “check in the back” for more sex was.

Brief review of Thrum plus me being a degenerate about it, spoilers below
It turns out I really love the Lovcraftian horror of falling into a lustful obsession with a giant biological hivemind spacecraft that actually breaks your brain when you try to comprehend what it really is. And also it fucks you. I totally called that Dorian was the ship itself from the beginning and I’m SO glad I was right.
There was DEFINITELY a lot to like in this story. The horror was really good, I felt like I was going crazy myself at some points. It was so hard to distinguish what was and wasn’t real as the story went on, and I found myself thoroughly disturbed the first time Ami realized there was blood on her hand after touching the wall. Ooooof. And the missing time also, that really got me feeling crazy. Kind of like in Perfect Blue, there’s gaps in time and memory that make you feel like you’re going insane.
Gosh darn it I just really love when horror and romance get all mixed up. I wouldn’t really call this a romance though, idk how to categorize it. Also I was furious when the first spicey scene faded to black like uhhmmmm HELLO?? I would have also loved to see more monster-fuckery afoot.
There are definitely some parts that were like… annoyingly classic booktok. The relationship between Ami and Dorian moves pretty dang fast. I guess maybe it makes sense given the whole context of the plot idk? Then Ami kept getting angry and stubborn about things being weird on a literal alien spaceship, and that really annoyed me at certain parts. I’m like GORL you are on an ALIEN SPACE SHIP (which btw is exactly the reason you went on this expedition), it’s going to be weird and different, calm down. Why are female protags so often written as easily angered, annoyed, stubborn, and sometimes downright rude?
However I did enjoy it overall, and I only wish there were more of it. It’s a pretty short story, and it definitely could have been stretched out more if the author wanted. But I appreciate it for what it is, and I’m definitely going to either go seek out fanfiction or even write some myself 🤔🤔
EDIT- I think it’s fair to call it a dark romance. A horror dark romance.
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
ya know I'm starting to think the reason he can't push that boulder up the hill is because he isn't putting his whole Sisyphussy into it
Caine isn’t coming back.
After the latest episode, I think a big point of the show is anti-AI (specifically creative AI). Caine is not going to come back. The humans are going to realize they can create their own world. The “adventures” or whatever comes next is going to be human made. And here’s my prediction:
It’s going to end the same way the credits end, they’re gonna start with stargazing.
TADC is ultimately anti-creative AI and that’s amazing I love it. I love Caine as a character but like fuck yeah man fuck AI
