Our lineage started long back, when at an unknown era, Rishis, made a congress at the foothills of the Himalayas to find a cure to the suffering of humankind from illnesses. It is said that Acharya Bharadwaja went to heavens, studied Ayurveda from the King of the Gods -Indra, returned to earth & taught Ayurveda to his disciples. Since then Ayurveda has been healing millions who come to its abode. Kerala has always been a true abode of Ayurveda due to the brilliance of the Acharyas from this paradise on earth, for its rich flora & locally composed compendiums of knowledge. The Kerala tradition of Ayurveda is strongly based on authentic texts like Ashtangahrdayam, compilations like Sahsrayaogam & Chikitsamanjari written in the malaMalayalamguage. Organic Ayurveda INC USA & Sri Dhanvanthari Madom hails its roots from this rich tradition of Ayurveda.

We are often asked what would make a great post-workout drink. Our favorite - Coconut Water! Our answer is of course biased! Coconut water is rich with essential nutrients & minerals. It rehydrates the body quickly & helps one recover faster. Balances Vata & Pitta. Tastes great too! https://www.instagram.com/p/CgugHrZPPNP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Ayurveda highlights the material quality of food but places even more significant emphasis on the choice of food, its processing and cooking, and traditions for nutritional eating.⠀ Charaka Samhita depicts the eight principles of Ahara vidhi ⠀ 1. Prakriti (nature of food articles)⠀ 2. Karana (preparation)⠀ 3. Samyoga (combinations)⠀ 4. Rashi (portion)⠀ 5. Desha (habitat and environment) 6. Kala (time aspect)⠀ 7. Upayoga Samstha (regulations of use)⠀ 8. Upayokta (the user)⠀ The standard portion in Ayurveda is the quantity of food that serves to both hands enfolded jointly. After eating, our tummy should have 1/3 food, 1/3 fluid, and 1/3 air. In different phrases, our belly should be 2/3's full. If we eat fast, we won't feel pleased with 2/3's full. But if we delay 20 minutes, prolonged sufficiently for our body to begin digesting the meals, we'll find that we don't need to overeat ourselves. There is also specialized guidance on food qualities and intake based on the digestive capacity of a person, and the variety of food that is being consumed Find more at our nutrition program https://bit.ly/38hIOCT⠀ #OrganicAyurveda #CharakaSamhita #Aharavidhi #holistichealth #wellness #dosha #vata #pitta #kapha #balancedlifestyle #ayurvedalifestyle #ayurvedafood #ayurvedaeveryday #dailyrituals https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb-feVoszV6/?utm_medium=tumblr
We understand how Monday feels. Hence, we thought we should find out what we need to get started. Some of the key ingredients for a kick-ass Monday morning would be energy, focus, motivation, a resolve to make-it-happen attitude, or what we often call Vitality. The word "Ojas" comes to mind when we draw parallels in Ayurveda. The essence of vitality & the source of enthusiasm. In Ayurveda, liveliness is often co-related with Ojas, which is the collective essence of all the seven tissues and is responsible for radiant health. Ojas is a Sanskrit term that can be translated as “vigor” or “essence of vitality.” In a nutshell, Ojas is the vital energy that rules our health, energy and happiness. Three things we desire to have in surplus. If our Ojas is weak, our health, our spirits, and our energy will be weak. ⠀ Acharya Charaka has mentioned that the Kapha dosha in its Prakriti avastha (normal state) promotes strength, lubrication, virility, immunity, resistance, and stability in the form of Ojas. Ojas is the bodily energy that symbolizes the finest state of Kapha dosha and the water element of the body. This rejuvenating core plays a crucial role in our energy, power, immunity, libido, and liveliness. Consequently, if we are lacking in any of these spaces, the Ojas in the body may be weakened or unbalanced The Ayurvedic approach is to restore vitality or Ojas by treating varied underlying conditions.⠀ If you would like to balance your health & improve on your ojus, check our bio to schedule a consult with our Vaidya. Fashionable companies have long promoted Ayurvedic principles, we believe Ayurveda is one's health style maker. It gives a certain basic identity strength and weakness for all of us to work on and where to balance it on The principles of Ayurveda are the maintenance of material, mental and spiritual wellness by balancing the elemental mix that assembles up our metabolic type, or dosha. The Tridoshas or Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are mostly explained as bio-energies that cannot be seen with the naked eye, yet are experienced at various levels. As per Ayurvedic principles, a perfect harmony between the Tridoshas in the body contributes to the health and any imbalance causes disease. But these descriptions are so vague that it leaves many basic unexplained questions as to what it is. To get into a deeper level of analysis, we must start afresh beginning with the origin and evolution of the theory itself. To verify your dosha, a counselor will find out questions about our vitality levels, food choices, sleeping patterns, and previous aliments history. The three doshas are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Vata people are quick-witted, thin, and inclined to scattiness. Pitta people are devoted but moody. Kapha people are serene, thoughtful, and faithful. Every dosha style is inclined to individual conditions (pitta people usually suffer from ulcers and rashes). Getting our body into ideal harmony can be accomplished via diet, yoga, daily routines (Dinacharya), and the use of medicinal herbs. Stress and anxiety are two emotions that have the power to sabotage our confidence and make our simple day-to-day activities overwhelming. Learn how to cope with our fears and uncertainties to protect and reclaim your lost vitality and well-being. We are leading a busy life. Technology, workplace pressure, and career goals have made us so immersed in our professional life, that we hardly find time to pause and think about ourselves. Unless the situation evolves out of control, we never pay attention to how much we are exhausting ourselves. Everyone experiences stress and anxiety at some point in life. Although used interchangeably, there is a strong connection and overlap between these two emotions. ⠀ Ayurveda has always placed immense importance on the state of mind to achieve the inner harmony of tridoshas to attain positive health. Mind and body are reflections of each other and what affects one will have significant impairment on normal functions of the other. Some suggestions if you are Vata dominant person: ● Reduce the intake of caffeine, sugar, and drink warm water instead of cold. ● Prefer warm, oily, sweet, sour, and salty food. Avoid raw salads, bitter, and pungent food items. ● Practice slow meditative practices like Balasana, Tadasana, and Paschimottasana. Pitta dominant person: ● Eating cooling foods like cucumber, melons and sweet fruits. ● Avoid spicy, astringent foods, smoking, and too much heat. ● Practice mild yoga postures. Kapha dominant person: ● Stay away from sweet food and overeating. ● Prefer warm, spicy food and try to exercise more. ● Practice Suryanamaskara, and vigorous Yoga practices like Dhanurasana, Matsyasana and Pranayamalike Kapalabhati. Adequate sleep, exercise, nutritional food, fellowship, and peace of mind are essentials, not indulgences. Ayurveda counts sleep as one of the Three Pillars Of Life (Traya Upastambha). The others are food & lifestyle. The inclusion of Sleep in the three Upastambha affirms its significance. The advantages of discovering our circadian (biological) rhythm comprise better energy and the shorter threat of obesity, diabetes, heart disorder, and cognitive health ailments Paying attention to what hours one sleeps on the weekends or when we are off job/academy for a vast time, can be a useful clue to our genuine sleep/wake rotation as we will probably float towards this timing when we do not hold different commitments. Our biological routine may be distinct from others in our own family. It may not be in a line with one present job or school schedule. Conduct and practice are the fundamental elements! According to Astanga Hrdayam, Happiness and unhappiness, nourishment & being thin or weak, strength & debility, sexual prowess & impotence, knowledge & ignorance, life & death all are dependent on sleep.⠀⠀ Gaining sufficient Nidra (sleep) at the proper times sustains wellbeing and good quality of life. Sound Nidra protects the growth and expansion of the body (Dhatu Pushti). Nidra aids to get reasonable learning capacity (gyan) & Ojas which is responsible for our body (immune system). Sleep insufficiency can influence the body as stress may grow and emotional wellbeing may be impacted.⠀⠀ Note:- Save a day-to-day log of what time one fall asleep and what time one gets out of bed to start the day #Sleep #OrganicAyurveda #AyurvedaLifeStyle #Nidra #lifestylehacks #TrayaUpastambha #DaringToRest #Daretorest #YogaNidra #RestTime #Radiantrest #Relax #SlowLiving #MindfulLiving #Ayurveda #YogaNidra #Ayurveda #Dinacharya #Ritucharya #balance #Lifestyle #Yoga #HealthyChoices #Health #HealthyChoices #HealthIsWealth #ThreePillarsOfLife (at Spokane, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CblmAZkIlPu/?utm_medium=tumblr
Some efforts show improvements only after a prolonged time. A recently grown fruit tree requires years of growth before it can yield a bumper crop. Likewise, a shade tree may need decades of blossoming before it builds an expansive roof. Nevertheless, remorses about earlier missed possibilities should not avert primary productive movements. Have we ever chosen to create a healthy lifestyle transformation but quickly given up, relating to ourselves that it’s overly late to discover new routines? It is time to take control and not allow one's age to prevent one, because there’s surprisingly not that much distinction between an eighteen year old brain and a 100 year aged brain some studies have shown. There are no expiration dates on our capacity to create healthy changes. Age, it appears, is not an obstruction to creating new habits, becoming more healthier, or actually making significant life and career transformations to enhance own emotional well-being. A few recommendations to get us started are Start some kind of new physical movements Improve the food we eat Ensure quality sleep Indulge in brainiac activity Think of improving skin Let's think about strengthening our bones Do indulge at some Ayurveda lifestyle hacks at https://bit.ly/3Ln3nfC #OrganicAyurveda #MindBodyBalance #healthylifestyle #workout #strength #fitness #exercise #training #arthritis #healthy #cardio #fitness #physique #havefun #ageisjustNumber #healthhasnoage #Selflove #Selfcare #Mindfulness #lifestylehacks #Ayurveda #dinacharya #Sleep #Yoga #Vyayama #Utsadhana #AyurvedaFitness (at Spokane, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbpxCQvgtBN/?utm_medium=tumblr

Ashtangahridayam is believed to be written by Acharya Vagbhata around 7th CE. The text is uniquely crisp, written in the poetic language of Sanskrit in six volumes. Ashtangahridyam means the Heart of Eight Branches of Ayurveda. Unlike many texts before it, Ashtangahridayam is comprehensive and to the point as it describes the core principles and practice of Ayurveda, making it one of the most read treatises in Ayurveda literature.
