HORNS || orion & alecto

Date: April 15th 1979
Location: Diagon Alley
(( @orionblvck ))
Stepping out of Gringotts Aleco’s eyes took a second to get used to the unusual brightness of the sun, after all they were all rather used to grey skies and rainy days and the brunette honestly favored those. However she had to leave the house before dawn today in order to make it to Gringotts and retrieve one of the magical objects Amycus wanted for some plan of his. He had been planning for a while now and while he apparently took care of everything else he had asked her to help. A part of herself was questioning whether he just wanted to avoid being questioned by their parents and preferred Aly taking the heat. Not that she would mind or anything, things between her and her parents were inreparable already after all.
Diagon Alley was full with people entering shops or just chatting on the streets, apparently the war after all wasn’t enough to keep people from buying, which made her grin a little. Walking past some vaguely familar faces she nodded towards a woman she was pretty sure to identify as one of her mother’s friends, however they looked all the same to her so she could never be quite sure. Considering whether or not she should maybe stop and get something to eat she stood still for a second, her gaze wandering over the crowd. That was until it fell on a very familiar face. Orion Black. Now her manners and everything her mother had tried to teach her would have told her that she should go an great him, after all the members of the sacred 28 don’t usually ignored each other, and certainly not if the other person involved was a Black but still she quickly turned around, hoping he didn’t see her already.
There weren’t many people the young Carrow girl would actively avoid, always being one who preferred confrontation, after all it was what she was good at. But with him it was something else, she knew they’d never come to an agreement, similar to her parents and herself. And to be quite honest he had messed with her life, through Sirius, enough for her to prefer excluding him completely. Starting to walk in calm strokes, she tried not to raise any awareness to her person, other than usual where she enjoyed every bit of attention.
There it was, right in the middle of Diagon Alley; a poster of Orion Black standing impossibly tall with no help of a cane, head held high as if he was already elected, promises and polices magically appearing and disappearing around him. The real Orion, cane in hand, stood in front of it with a tilt of his head and a deep sigh leaving his chest. It wasn’t getting any easier to be out in public and it was getting harder to cope with the fact that he could be Minister in the very near future. He didn’t know why it had to be him. It was just a display of power for the Death Eaters after one of their best was kidnapped by the enemy, but Orion had no choice. He had to run, he had to win.
Someone brushed shoulders with him, then another, and another after that as he watched himself in the poster. Diagon Alley was far too busy with the war going on, but people were desperate to feel normal, as if their world was ever normal. It made Orion sick. His scowl grew evermore, his patience already gone, and just as he turned around to lash out at the next person who bumped into him, he saw her. Alecto Carrow, walking in the opposite direction. Her back was to him, but he’d recognize her anywhere. There was a time where he might’ve left her alone or even give a friendly wave if he had caught her attention, but not anymore. A part of him felt a little giddy when he thought that maybe she wasn’t just walking through the market, but walking away from him.
Orion pushed through the crowds of Diagon Alley, shoving a little kid out of his path and glaring at anyone who tried to reprimand him. He hated all the eyes on him, the eyes that pretended they weren’t looking at him, the proximity of others, the pointless conversations that made it hard to think. It was too much, but Orion gritted his teeth and picked up the pace to reach Alecto faster. Once he was close enough, Orion grabbed her shoulder to force her to stop and spun her around with little effort. He was smirking, revealing a sliver of teeth, but the hate and need to annoy her was dilating his pupils.
“Hello, Alecto. Trying to avoid something, maybe someone? Running away from things like always, I see.” he said. Orion already felt better- this would be fun.

SEND A 👫AND I’LL WRITE FOUR HEADCANONS I HAVE ABOUT OUR MUSE’S RELATIONSHIP
1. Orion always wanted a daughter, a secret not even Walburga knew, and while his nieces filled up that hole it was Andromeda he was most fond of. He spoiled her just a tad more, spent time with just her, allowed her to speak her mind even if at times it was wrong, even if he and Cygnus fought over all of this. Andromeda was the closest thing he had to a daughter.
2. She broke his heart when she ran off and married Ted Tonks. Not just a knife to his back, but to his front as well. He also felt guilty. Maybe there was something he could’ve done to stop this from happening. As much as he wanted to hate her, he couldn’t, but he will forever act like he does.
3. Learning that Andromeda was in Aversio was another low blow, but he hasn’t revealed this to any other member of the Black family. He has no idea why. Orion knows he should tell Cygnus and her sisters, but he can’t, and he can’t help but think this is his way of protecting her. He doesn’t hate her, but he hates how much he cares for her still.
4. Orion knows he will never get the chance to get to know Dora. Meeting her wasn’t enough just the one time, but he will take what he can get. He hopes that when he has his own grandchildren one day that he will be able to make up for the time he missed with Dora, and maybe make up for being a shitty father.
if walls could talk || Rosemary & Orion
rosemaryxparkinson:
Rosemary’s husband was at work while she sat in the bedroom. Today had been terrible so far. It had started out with plates smashed against the wall while she ate breakfast. Shouts had echoed off the wall and the house elf hung back in the shadows, all too familiar with this scene. It had started with his anger in relation to a night that happened a few days ago. One of his precious friends had been over. She had made some slight mistake. Perhaps she just breathed the wrong way to anger her husband. Still, when Orion left the room he took out his anger and had slapped her. The mark had been an angry red sign of his anger and did not hide the act from the man when he returned. Orion Black had done nothing. He calmly sat down as if nothing had happened and continued to plan out his election with her husband.
Orion Black was a spineless coward.
Her husband had not been pleased though this morning, even though it had been his actions that he was angry about he still blamed her. How dare she act in such an undignified manner and embarrass him in front of guests? Her fists curled under the table and she fantasized about picking up her knife and carving open his jugular to see the life bleed from him. He threw his mug above the fireplace and it shattered. She retaliated by throwing a plate a mere inch from his head. The house elf had cleaned up while Rosemary went up to her bedroom and examined a cut on her hand. When the house elf entered her room, she almost wrung its neck at bothering her. Yet it seemed she had a guest.
Slipping out of her silk robe, she put on a simple gown and charmed her hair and make up before going down the grand stairs. As she entered the room and found Orion Black she halted and frowned. “It seems my house elf made the mistake of letting you in since my dear husband is not here.” Her voice was cold and her dark eyes shone with pure loathing. Perhaps she should mess with his election, he did not deserve the office.
By being here Orion was going behind a friends back, but he felt like it was the right thing to do. He didn’t know what he could do for Rosemary, if anything at all, but he could at least try. Rosemary didn’t deserve this. He couldn’t imagine a scenario in which she would. Orion sighed at her icy tone, bringing one hand up to run through his hair and down his neck. Maybe this was a mistake. Maybe he should just apologize and leave. Orion took one look at Rosemary’s flawless face and knew that whatever make up she had on was adding the truth. He wondered if anyone else knew what went on in this house, or if he was the only one.
He couldn’t do nothing. As much as he and Walburga fought, they loved just as hard. He was lucky in his marriage, even if he was cheating bastard who didn’t deserve her. Maybe this was Orion’s way of atoning for what he’s done, whatever good that would do. He took a careful step forward. The look in her eye made him weary. Who knows what she would do. “It wasn’t a mistake. I’m not here to see him. I’m here to see you. I’d like to talk, Rosemary. About the other night,” he said his eyes flickering over to the wall before settling back on her. Orion didn’t want to upset Rosemary any more than he already has.
“I just...I don’t know. I wanted to make sure you were okay,” Orion took a another step forward with his arm reaching out towards her. “Are you?” He nearly cringed. What a stupid question, of course she couldn’t be okay. Her husband, his friend, was the kind of a monster Orion could never be. He could only imagine what she thought of him. They never talked much before, but he didn’t like knowing that Rosemary probably thought he was okay with men physically hurting their wives and if he could help her then he would. Orion just hoped Rosemary would let him.

mistressofsorrows:
Dolores sat there drinking her sherry and keeping her ears open whilst Orion explained who his true competitor is. /Rodolphus?/ her brows furrowed knowing too well that Millicent was more of a threat to him than Mr. Lestrange. Millicent had a great influence on almost everyone in the ministry just about at the same level as Orion. She knew that when they go up against each other they would be head to head, Orion’s only weakness is his age. People will start to question if he is even fit enough for the position. So many questions came and so many left her thoughts unanswered, All that she knew is that Orion might have a fighting chance. The smile on her face slowly grew, Till she was smiling ear to ear “Do we?” she paused for a moment, just to dangle the question in the air “You are worried about Rodolphus? Why? I see him as the weakest out of the three of you. I have competed with Millicent since my days in Hogwarts, I know what she is capable of and my greatest pleasure is to beat her. So we will take down the weakest and move from there.”
Dolores clearly had something up her sleeve, the Pink siren was not done with Orion not yet. She knew that if he lost she will be short chained and she will not allow that to happen. Dolores stood up for a moment and grabbed the tea kettle “I see you are almost done with your tea, here have some more.” she said politely as moving towards him with a hot kettle, now pouring the water into his cup, but not stopping “Now, If you lose, I still want what I ask for. You will still be an influence in the Ministry, I expect to get what I want. Do /we/ have a deal?” She stopped pouring the water but the cup already had a charm set upon it, the water will continue to rise if the answer of its master did not answer, the best part? The cup would stay attached to his hand, if he did not answer fast enough, the scolding hot water could spill onto his hand and blister his skin. The tea cup was one of her torture devices. “I don’t wanna see you hurt, my dear but the circumstances call for it. Do we have a deal?” Dolores sat back on her desk and crossed her legs, picking up her glass of sweet sherry while she watched the boiling water rise in the teacup.
Orion nearly rolled his eyes at the mention of Millicent’s name. He knew there was little chance to sway her supporters so he was more worried about the man who had the votes that belonged to him. If Orion was being honest, Millicent was the last thing he wanted to talk about, but no one knew the nature of their failed friendship if one could even call it such. “Millicent Bagnold,” he snorted, a scowl curved at his lips. He rather people think he hated her than realize how much he liked her presence. “I’m more concerned about the man stealing my votes, but if taking down Millicent is also something you have in mind then please take the bitch down. I want to win, Dolores, I don’t care how that happens as long as it does.”
Before Orion had a chance to decline more tea, Dolores was already pouring more. He looked up at her from his chair, his thoughts moving from one woman to the next. Orion was only slightly distracted by the tight skirt, making him briefly miss his time at the Ministry. There were perks when it came to women working in the Ministry and this was one of them. “I still have my contacts here. If I don’t win I’d be happy to make the arrangements.” Dolores was right; Orion still had great influence within their government, retired or not, Minister or not.
He watched her go back to her desk, his forehead creased in confusion. Orion wasn’t even paying attention to the rising hot water in his tea cup. All he knew was that Dolores was playing one of her games and like usual Orion was way out of the loop. The first splash of hot water on his hand made him flinch and look down, dark eyes widening when he realized the water was still boiling over his hand and onto his thighs. In that moment he realized what was going on. “Bloody- yes! Yes, we have a deal!” he said jumping up from his chair as the water burned him. In his haste, the tea cup had fallen to the ground, breaking into tiny pieces. He looked at Dolores, his jaw ticking with barely controlled anger. “What the hell is wrong with you? I was already going to say yes!”

Send a 👫 and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship
Orion has always been someone she could trust, despite their differences, their age gap, their beliefs – for some reason they’ve always found a way to make their relationship work, to have a relationship build on trust.
She’s the most passionate if she’s with him – but also the most spoiled and violent.
Orion and Walburga have always impressed Cassandra – as a couple they’re indescribable, just powerful and perfect – and she’d once hoped to have the same kind of love with Evan. So Orion’s kind of a role model to her.
She likes to be called Princess, more than anything else – and if he does call her princess, Cassandra feels her stomach turn and her heart react strangely – she’s unsure what this means, though.

Everything Alecto knows about Orion comes from Sirius, therefore Alecto has never taking a real liking to him. However she used to be aware of the fact that he was probably a better father than her own, even though that isn’t a real achievement.
Her opinion obviously changed a little when Sirius decided to turn against the entire pureblood society and life, in the young girls eyes Orion was the one who was mainly responsible for her losing one of her best friends.
However she’s aware that she can’t openly fight or oppose Orion, since his standing in society as well as among the Death Eaters is higher than her own, therefore she simply tries to avoid him.
It’s very frustrating to her that among her friends and the rest of the Death Eaters Orion gets idolized so much, it seems as if she knows next to no one who thinks as lowly of him as she does.
all you had was some of my time; orion & millicent
millicent-bagn0ld:
“I don’t know how I could not be involved!” she exclaimed. Millicent threw her hands in the air in exasperation. She was too close to the people involved for her to be neutral. She did a damn good job at putting up a mostly neutral front, but any hope her leaving the Order had been squashed last Christmas. “One of the people closest to me was murdered! How do you expect me to not be involved, especially after that?” He didn’t need to know that she had been with the Order since the very beginning. He could think she had joined only after Harold had died, if the thought would give him some semblance of comfort. It changed nothing, of course, but perhaps it would make this discussion slightly easier.
Millicent’s eyes softened as she looked at him. Orion presented himself as a cold, hard man, but she could hear the sincerity in his voice. There was a softness beneath the surface that she only ever saw when it was just the two of them. It was the only reason she even bothered with him. Millicent was positive that somewhere within him, there was good. “What if I said the same thing about you?” she asked. She had wanted him to be different, to be uninvolved. She knew the Black name came with certain expectations, but she had wanted, had hoped, that he wouldn’t fall prey to them. Clearly, she had been wrong – just as he had been wrong in thinking that she would stand by, neutral, during a war when innocent people were dying. She cared too much about the world to do that. She cared too much, against her own good.
She couldn’t stop the frown from forming on her face as she looked at him. She watched him as he watched her. They had seemingly reached a stalemate. Millicent shuffled her position against the wall as he spoke, and suddenly she felt the anger rise up again within her. He was just giving up? How could he expect to be Minister if he couldn’t even make it through a conversation with her? It would be much worse as Minister. He’d have to talk to people from all sides of the war for extended periods of time – including her. She had to convince him that just walking away was a mistake. Her back peeled from the wall as she moved toward him again – slowly, cautiously. The anger had faded and in its place was a resolute sadness. Millicent closed the gap between them and carefully reached up to put her hands on his upper arms. “You don’t want to do that,” she whispered, hurt. “I know you don’t.”
“People die all the time, Millicent! You think Harold is going to be the last one?” Orion opened his mouth to say more, but he didn’t know what. He didn’t know how much experience she had in the Order or what she even did, but Orion didn’t think it was much. She had no idea how much death was involved. Orion can’t even look down at his hands without imagining his fingers covered in blood. A part of him wondered just how much Millicent knew, if she knew about the things he’s done. He was sure Millicent was as innocent as they came. He couldn’t picture her killing anyone.
He hated how she looked at him in ways no one did, like he wasn’t the man he was, like she knew things about Orion that no one else knew, not even him. He was never a man to back down, but he had to avert his gaze so he wouldn’t lash out in an attempt to push her farther away. Couldn’t she just go? Didn’t she see how much easier that would be? The corner of his mouth lifted up at her words. He liked knowing that she wanted him to be different just as much as he wanted her to be neutral. “I was born to be like this. I am who I was meant to be,” he told her shrugging because he didn’t know what else.
Orion got a bad feeling the moment he saw the frown on Millicent’s face, something he wasn’t use to seeing and something he never wanted to see again. He tensed as she came closer, watching it in slow motion. You should apparate now, before she gets any closer, he told himself, but all he could move was one foot back before her hands were on his arms. Orion blinked. He wanted to hate her so bad. Orion sighed with a small sad smile as he looked down at Millicent. He reached for one of her hands and placed it on his forearm, right above the dark mark hidden beneath warm layers, his own hand a heavy weight on top of hers.
“You don’t understand. I have to, Millicent. Because of this, because of Dumbledore. I...I kill people like you. I string you up and torture you for information. I leave you to rot happy with my work,” he paused struggling with the words as he revealed himself wholly to Millicent. Without thought, he cupped her jaw, his fingers splayed down her neck. “I should’ve fucking kissed you when I had the chance,” he murmured, even though he was glad he didn’t because she deserved so much more than a man who cheated on his wife for no other reason than he could. “I know it doesn’t seem like it, but by walking away I’m protecting you. It has to be this way. You need to go home and forget that this ever happened.”
repercussions || orion & amos
amxsdxggory:
It was almost sad – the old man’s features creasing in pain, so evident now that Amos wondered how it was that he was moving at all. Sheer determination, he reckoned, knowing just how desperately he’d fight if it meant his own freedom – or the safety of those he held dear. “No, you don’t need someone to save you. You need me to show you pity.” If he’d been anyone else, Amos would have offered to heal him, and although every compassionate bone in his body was aching to do so, the part that recognized Orion for whom he was wouldn’t allow him to do so. Perhaps what Aversio was doing held no morality, but neither did the Death Eaters, and Amos knew they couldn’t afford to ignore that.
The small waver was one he knew he had to take advantage of, it wouldn’t come again, especially not when the desperation had gone and the wounds had healed. He wasn’t Alastor, or an Auror, and a part of him would always feel out of place when it came to interrogations and force. But he was the only hope that the Order had now. There was no backup for him either, and although the knife now glinted in his own hands along with his wand, he knew that it was an advantage that he’d lose if anyone siding with You-Know-Who stumbled upon them.
“A name – one that I don’t already know – and tell me why they let you go.” Perhaps it wasn’t important, but if they’d done so out of compassion or out of personal gain – he needed to be aware. Besides, he knew he had the opportunity to make demands now. It was evident how weak the other man was and how he could easily overpower him if the need was there, and Amos doubted he’d put much to chance.
“And you don’t come after me – you don’t look to find out who I am or hold a vendetta. Merlin knows you wouldn’t have let me go if the positions were reversed. If I let you go – I’m showing you mercy, something I doubt you deserve – I don’t want you to forget about that.” Perhaps it was an odd request, but it was one he needed to make. Not for his own safety, although it might’ve come across that way – but for Cedric. He was already putting himself in enough danger as it was, he didn’t need someone like Orion Black attempting to find him.
Orion was a man who took what he wanted when he wanted, who got what he wanted because of his name alone. Royalty, as his father would remind him any chance he got, just as he did with his own children. The name was powerful, but it was stronger behind a wand and now that Orion was vulnerable in more ways than one, he felt truly weak. Weaker than he’s ever been before. He could hear his jaw pop from the tension that ran trough his entire body. The kid was right. He did need something from him. Pity at worst. His life at best.
His smirk grew into something far more dangerous, a long lean of his body as he listed to Amos’ demands. Orion prided himself on being a man of honor, one who didn’t go back on deals he made, but this wasn’t like any kind of deal he’s made before. Orion had no choice. If he ever wanted to see his wife again, he’d had to agree. He pointed a shaky finger at Amos, “The same goes for me. You leave me alone, my family alone, and you won’t ever see my face again,” he said his chest rising with deep breaths.
Always one for a good dramatic pause, Orion waited to speak again, listening to the chaos around them. He wanted to remember Amos, every hair on his head and every inflection of his voice. Everything happened for a reason and Orion had a feeling this wouldn’t be the last time he saw Amos. “Katrina Parkinson,” he said rolling her name off his tongue like it was poison. “That blood traitor. Seems to me she isn’t loyal to anyone but herself,” his eyebrows flicked up mockingly as he looked over his shoulder. Any minute now and he’d be able to finally be free.
“Do you know her? I bet you do. I bet you’d also like a reason for her letting me go. Can you guess why? It’s not the reason you think...she felt sorry for me. Me. For the way you animals treated me. Can you believe that, kid?”
strangers | orion & cassandra
Orion didn’t like to admit how close he’s grown to Cassandra to himself or to her, but it was obvious when he had reached out to her any moment he could before she left. It was obvious to him when he read the letter she sent, reading it over and over again until his eyes burned. He wanted to hate her, but all he could wonder was how could she do that to him and now he only wanted to protect her. “I am a very lucky man,” he said slowly, mostly to himself as if he was trying to remind himself. He didn’t want to talk about Walburga. That’s not why he’s ever spent time with Cassandra. The mention of his wife’s name was the only time he’s ever felt guilt so strongly. Orion looked over at her and tentatively took her hand in his, rubbing the pads of his fingers over her knuckles. “I wish I could make him feel the pain he caused you. You don’t deserve that, Cassandra. Not ever. I hope you know that.”
He instantly felt more at ease, his eyes closing, as he felt her lips against his skin. The guilt he was feeling left his body and he didn’t even hate himself for it. Finally, Orion turned his body to completely face her, still holding one of her hands in his. “You’ll be safe with me. I can promise you that,” he said incredibly serious before a teasing grin broke through, “I knew you cared about me. We might be fighting different sides, but our enemies remain the same. ”
Siren’s Song | Cassandra + Orion
The hand on his back sent chills up his spine, but for a short moment he tensed at her words. Mistress. Orion didn’t like the way the word rolled off Cassandra’s tongue. He knew what it was, what it meant, and he didn’t need her reminding him. It was easy to forget Walburga in the heat of the moment, to forget that she was waiting for her husband to come home no matter how late he got in, but once she began to list names of people who had already committed what they were about to, his hand around her waist twitched to return to his side. He didn’t like her acting as if she was in control, as if she could have control over someone like him. He was, and he’d have to remind her of that. “Do not utter another word about that. I don’t want to hear it,” he mumbled against her neck, holding her tighter against his body. “Ever.”
What ever was going to happen between them Orion wouldn’t allow it to ruin his life or hers. No matter how young and soft and tight Cassandra felt in his arms, Walburga was the only woman he could ever love and she deserved better than him, someone who cared enough to stop because it was obvious that he didn’t give a damn, even when he told himself he did.
Orion blinked and the next thing he knew he was pressed against the wall by Cassandra, paying more attention to his inner monologue than his surroundings. He smirked down at her, his tongue rolling behind his teeth as he refocused. “You want me to tell you how much I want you? How I need you? I think you already know,” he ran a hand through her hair, tugging roughly, “I think I have more control over you than you think, Princess.”
