This is Myrtle, the lady who owns the flower house, a house I have been obsessed with for years (the entire sidewalk and porch is covered with fake flowers and it stays that way year around.) I met her by chance today and got to see the inside of her house when I helped her carry shopping bags, which she was lugging around in the sweltering heat. She lives right up from downtown and walks down to the thrift stores all the time. Her ENTIRE house is covered in fake flowers, stuffed animals, figurines, vases, pictures, statues, etc. It is the most awesome house I have ever seen.

Plant of the Day Tuesday 31 May 2016
John Massey, of Ashwood Nurseries, showed all 12 species of Hepatica (liverleaf) together with a range of inter-species hybrids including some of his own introductions at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, London. The stunning display of a semi-woodland landscape representing the natural habitat of Hepatica was presented with a gold medal and the RHS Diamond Jubilee Award for best Grand Pavilion exhibit. These plants naturally flower in late winter and early spring so they were held back for the Show in a refrigerated container - the skill was removing them at the right time.

A cat makes its way through the corridor of the Girdle Wall of the Temple of Horus at Behdet.
or - Bastet pays Horus a visit.
For some reason the sum total of the amount of time that has passed since these walls were built really hits me in this picture.
right now you might be in a situation that you think you wonât survive but six months ago you were in a situation that you didnât think youâd survive and two years before that you were in a situation you didnât think youâd survive and the point is you will always surprise yourself and you will always make it through
