Mouthwashing AU where Anya doesn't tell Jimmy about the pregnancy, and instead, knowing Curly won't do anything, puts herself into a cryopod. The crew find her the next morning and the game becomes a point and click mystery game to find out why before they reach their destination.
Very important point @pheonix-inside! I was imagining this being after Anya told Curly, so you would need to play either Swansea, Daisuke, Jimmy, or a third party self insert character who is used just as a vessel to solve the mystery.
Faceless 3rd party would allow more dialog with all the characters, and more exploration with everyone's relationship with Anya.
Daisuke would make a great protagonist as he is young and has the least history with Anya.
Swansea would be good because once you find out, you could beat the ever loving shit out of Jimmy.
Jimmy would we a very interesting route if we didnt already know the story of the game. A semi-murder mystery where it turns out you are playing as the murderer? You are the bad guy? Talk about a twist. (Most people wouldn't want to be in his stinky shoes tho so unlikely route)
Final option would be Curly, who knows why she did but is maybe trying to keep everyone calm as THEY look into why Anya did this.
Or it happens after the dead pixel conversation and Curly has to put the pieces together and see the big picture he failed to see before.
Literally anyway someone wants to imagine this going is fair game. I love open AUs
