y/n lands her ikran. she shushes him gently as he cries out. she makes sure her son doesn’t wake.

s/n still is asleep in his wrap. y/n thanked eywa he slept through the journey. she hoped she could find safety soon.

she wanted to put everything behind her.

y/n had landed at the edge of the omatikaya forest, na’ring.

she heard their olo’eyktan was good and just.

tsu'tey his name was.

she hoped maybe he would be able to see past her offenses.

she had only done it to protect her son.

the lush jungle lit up around her. she brushes her hand over the large leaves, letting it light up beneath her. y/n smiles. how different here was from her home.

a small sprite landed on her shoulder. it was white, it floated gently. she blew it away n

she found the camp.

she walked through the camp with her hands raised in the air, y/n gently shushes her son as he starts to wake.

y/n shows her respect to the omatikaya. raising her hand to her forehead and lowering it.

they parted and let her walk through the camp. s/n name started to whimper louder.

“it’s is alright my love. we’re almost home.” y/n soothes.

she finally made it to where the clan leaders sat. there sat mo'at, the clan’s tsahik, her daughter neytiri and the olo’eyktan, tsu'tey.

he was a handsome na'vi, this was true, but his piecing stare makes y/n stop in her tracks.

y/n calms her breathing down.

“why are you here child?” mo'at asks.

“mo'at, i see you. my son and i, we come seeking uturu.”

many voices clambered. speaking out in shock, uturu? for what?

“why do you seek this? uturu?” tsu'tey speaks. his voice echoes through the crowd.

tears start to full y/n’s eyes. the exhaustion of traveling started to ache in her bones.

she falls to her knees. her son started to cry.

“i c-cant…”

mo'at and neytiri rush to y/n’s side. they both help her up. “dear child. you have come a long way. at least let us feed you.”

mo'at waves her hand and the omatikaya disperse, going back to what ever it was they were doing before.

tsu'tey studies the na'vi woman holding her child. he could see how tired she was. she looked at him with pleading eyes. what happened to her?

even under all her sadness, he could not deny her beauty.

mo'at and neytiri help y/n into the tsahik’s tent. they help her sit. mo'at orders neytiri to fetch some food, neytiri obeys.

“thank you mo'at.”

“what is your name?”

y/n tells her.

“your name travels far y/n. i believe i know what brought you here.” that voice, tsu'tey. he walks in the tent and sits down by mo'at.

“please. i only did it to defend my son.” y/n pleads.

“what exactly happened?” tsu'tey asks.

y/n takes a deep breath.

her husband had betrayed her. he had been with another woman. for many moons. how y/n did not see she does not know. she shakes her head in shame.

“i was leaving him, he grabbed me…” tears start to form in y/n’s eyes.

“he choked me, he destroyed my song cord. he threatened to murder me if i left him. i told him to let me go, but then he threatened my son.”

tsu'tey straightens. mo'at looks to him. they share a look.

“i don’t know what came over me. I grabbed my knife… i wasn’t going to kill him, but…”

“you were protecting your son y/n.”

“was i? or did i just hurt a hurting man?”

“you hurt a coward. you saved your son. he would’ve done far worse to you and him. you saved yourself.” tsu'tey answers.

y/n shakes her head. “i do not feel that way. no one would listen. eywa forgive me.”

neytiri enters the tent and sees y/n’s crying form. she sets her food down and wipes the tears from her face. how kind she was.

she offers to hold s/n. y/n asks her to be gentle with him.

neytiri holds him softly against her. she take to him gently, letting him know his sa'nok (mother) was nearby. he calms in neytiri’s arms.

y/n and neytiri speak quietly as mo'at and tsu'tey speak amongst themselves.

y/n was not a threat, this assured them. they wondered about her clan and how they could cast out a woman and child without listening to her side of the story.

y/n finished eating her meal. she thanked neytiri and took back her son. she lowered her wrap and began feeding her him. the two continued their conversation.

tsu'tey turns to look at y/n. she seemed content now having food. she looked beautiful as she fed her son. he could see the pure devotion in her eyes. this woman was no danger.

his heart softens.

he turns back to give her privacy. he listens to mo'at speak. they came to agreement.

“y/n,” mo'at places her hand on her shoulder. “we grant you uturu.”

y/n covers her mouth and begins to sob. “thank you!” she cries out. she covers herself and holds s/n close. she puts her hand on mo'at’s. “may eywa bless and watch over you and your child here.”

y/n turns and nods her thanks at tsu'tey. he bows his head.

“we won’t be a burden i swear to you. i can hunt, i can weave, i can-“

“y/n,” tsu'tey holds a gentle hand up. y/n silences herself. “do not trouble yourself with that tonight. we will provide you with shelter. you will stay with us. you will learn our ways. i have no doubt of you abilities, nor your son’s.” He smiles down at the bundle in y/n’s arms.

“thank you tsu'tey. i see you.” y/n says softly. she could feel her chest begin to get warm in the presence of tsu'tey.

“and i see you y/n.” he places a hand on her shoulder.

something stirs within tsu'tey, certain protectiveness in his chest.

he swears to hismelf, to y/n, and, to eywa that y/n and s/n would always be safe under his protection as long as he lived.

y/n stands outside the sully’s marui. her heart was pounding, her tail was flciking, there were tears streaming down her face.

she was terrified for kiri.

kiri had a seizure underwater.

y/n and her friends were all having a wonderful time together, showing the sully kids the cove of the ancestors

y/n watched with a smile on her face and kiri took in the cove, her eyes widen with amazement. ao'nung nudged y/n’s shoulder teasingly. she shakes him off.

they all swam to the spirit tree. y/n watched kiri connect to the tree. y/n was about to connect when all of sudden kiri began to shake. she grew stuff. she looked like she stopped breathing.

y/n jumped into action, disconnecting her to the tree and helping kiri’s brother, neteyam, bring her to the surface.

he gave her mouth to mouth, kiri was alive, but she wasn’t waking up.

everything then was a blur for y/n. sky people landed. they had strange metal tools that made annoying sounds. kiri wasnt responding to anything.

y/n repeated what you told to jakesully to his friend norm, tears running down her face.

jake sighs and puts a hand in y/n’s shoulder. “don’t blame yourself. you helped save her. you got her back to us.”

y/n nods and wipes the tears off her face. her shoulder still shook. it began to grow cold.

she knew no one was at fault, but seeing kiri like that… it terrified her. the words that normally and jake said kept running through her head.

she don’t understand most of them meant, but she knew it wasn’t good news, kiri wasn’t doing well.

it wasn’t until ronal entered, her healing supplies in hand. neytiri convinced her to stay and ronal began her work.

y/n stayed outside the pod all day. it was evening now.

she was about to give up hope when she heard kiri cry out. she cries out for her mother. neytiri and tuk comfort her. y/n began to thank eywa.

kiri let the shock run through her. she let herself cry, feeling every emotion.

once kiri calmed down, neytiri told kiri everything. she couldn’t connect to eywa anymore…

that’s when y/n entered. kiri saw her and reached out for her. neytiri smiles as she realzise y/n was still there. she pulls tuk away to give the two space.

y/n gasps and gives kiri her hand. kiri pulls y/n into a hug.

“are you okay? are you okay?” y/n ran her fingers through kiri’s hair, looking over her.

kiri grabs y/n’s hands and stops her. “i will be.”

“kiri-i am so sorry.”

“you don’t need to apologize y/n. you did nothing wrong.” kiri inspects her kuru. “there’s something wrong with me.”

you place a hand on her thigh and shake your head. “no, there is nothing wrong with you kiri. maybe since you’re from the forest you couldn’t connect properly to our-“

“no-it’s not that. it is me.” kiri looks down at her intertwined hands. “i’ll never be able to see my mom again…” she covers her mouth and sobs.

“kiri…” y/n holds onto her tightly and kiri wraps her arms around y/n.

y/n let’s kiri cry. she gently rocked her.

jake entered the marui. he had finally seen his friend off.

y/n looked up to jake, her big eyes begging for help.

jake nods and rubs kiri on her back. “baby girl… i’m here.”

kiri turns away from y/n and practically collapses in her father’s arms.

y/n gets up to leave. jake nods his thanks again, y/n turns and leaves. she walks home with an unspeakably heavy heart.

the next day was calm. kiri was still recovering, she was still asleep, when y/n showed up.

y/n asks neytiri how she was doing. neytiri looks at her kindly and places a hand on her shoulder.

“she is strong y/n. she will be alright. i am grateful she has you in her life.” she nods and walks into her home.

y/n bites her lip and looks quickly into the sully’s pod. she hears kiri-she was awake!

you both catch each others eyes. you wave at her. she waves back. she turns and talks to her sa’sem (parents).

kiri slowly gets up and walks towards y/n. she walks as fast as she can and immediately gathers y/n into a hug.

y/n holds her back just as hard.

“i am sorry for being here, i was just so worried!”

kiri pull y/n back and wipes y/n’s tears. “no don’t cry y/n. it’s okay, i’m going to be okay! i promise you.”

y/n nods, taking in kiri’s words. kiri kisses y/n in the cheek and places her head on the top of y/n’s head.

“i just thank eywa you were there to save me.”

“come on, where are you?” y/n says. her heart was starting to hang heavy. she was worried, peytu, her spirit sister, had not arrived at the calf communion.

peytu was very independent, maybe she was just behind the other tulkun. maybe she would arrive soon.

she rode with ao'nung on his ilu. the three searched the water.

then y/n saw it. a floating tulkun, bleeding out…

“oh eywa no.” y/n immediately dives in the water and swims toward the corpse. it… it was peytu.

“eywa no, please!” she swims up to her sister. she recognized her matching tattoo she shared with her. she had designed it herself.

“peytu… peytu please!” y/n leans her head against the tulkun. she runs her hand back and forth, petting her. “wake up. come on!”

ao'nung hears y/n’s cries as he swims up behind her. his heart broke at what he sees. peytu’s blood surrounded the both of them, heavy in the water. he’s stunned at what he sees.

y/n sobs as the realization finally hits. “she died alone! she was almost there, she was so close!”

a scream leaves y/n’s throat. ao'nung’s heart breaks. he quickly wraps his arms around y/n and hugs her. y/n grasps onto him.

“she died alone ao'nung.. i wasn’t there to protect her!” y/n cries out.

ao'nung tightens his grip around her. he shakes his head. “this is not your fault. this was the sky people.”

“i should’ve gone out to search for her! i could’ve prevented this! i-“ y/n begins to hyperventilate.

“stop. y/n you need to breathe,” ao'nung places a hand on y/n’s abdomen. “breathe.”

y/n shakes her head. she drops her head onto ao'nung’s chest. he holds her tight and hums. it was a familiar tune, it was one his mother sang to his sister when she was a baby and upset.

“i’ll kill them all! i swear ao'nung i will!” y/n says between sobs.

“let it out y/n. i’m here.”

y/n sobs as she holds onto ao'nung tightly. he was the only thing grounding her right now. rage and sadness consumed everything she had.

“breathe.”

“i’m trying ao'nung, i want her back!”

“her heart is with eywa-“

“i don’t want her with eywa! i want her here! she should be here with me!”

“i guess it’s time to say goodbye.” y/n turns to peytu. she kisses her gently and rests her forehead on her.

hey queen! okay so i have a very strong thing for aonung and i was thinking of a fic where the reader is lo’aks twin sister but ronal didn’t really like the fact that aonung was courting the reader because he’s the future oloeyktan, during battle where ronal gives birth instead of neytiri helping her it’s the reader and then she’s very grateful that the reader helped her give birth to pril and then finally gave her blessing for the reader and aonung to be together and asked if reader would protect pril then blah blah blah reader comes back without ronal but the baby and then skip to when they connect pril to eywa she was next to aonung during and he squeezed her hand and held onto her arm tighter because he’s getting baby fever and wants one with the love of his life but their too young🥺 if you could write a bit about the reader taking care of pril and aonung falls more inlove by the minute that would be so appreciated!! make this as long as you want mamas

y/n held a sleeping pril. she smiled down at her, her heart warming at the sight. pril’s hand around y/n’s finger tightened as she cooed in her sleep.

“sshhh, little syulang (flower), you’re safe.” y/n gently bounces her in her arms.

ao'nung watches fondly. his heart ached for his mother. he missed her in a way words couldn’t describe. he loved his new sister. he would do anything for her, including laying down his own life.

y/n looked at ao'nung and smiled. “she’s fine, ao'nung, do not worry.”

ao'nung comes behind her and wraps his arms around y/n. “she’s finally asleep. you’re a natural at this y/n.”

“no i do not think so, i think it is because she just ate.” y/n laughs.

“pril really takes to you, i think she might think you are her mother.”

“i hope not, her mother was a fighter, she fought to bring her into this world.” y/n’s mind drifts to ronal’s final moments.

she had helped deliver pril. she held the babe as she connected ronal’s bond with hers. she gave ronal her child. “hold her.”

“oh, i am sorry. here give me a moment,” y/n walks over to pril’s woven basket and gently lays in her in it. pril whines and y/n gently shushes her. the child falls back into her stupor.

y/n sits down beside the basket, still eyeing pril. she can’t deny a certain protectiveness over her. y/n reaches for ao'nung. he grasps her hand and kisses it softly as he sits across from her.

“i was just thinking about what your mother said before she died.” y/n wipes her eyes.

“and what did she say?”

“she said that if my heart sang for you, i should follow it.”

ao'nung eyes suddenly full with tears. “so she approved then, of us?”

y/n nods.
