the crows as songs from “sour”

inej: 1 step forward, 3 steps back... this perfectly describes her relationship with kaz in soc. the line “do you love me, want me, hate me, boy? i don’t understand” especially that part in the books where she was saying how he makes her blush one minute and then makes her want to kill him in the next. also how every time they make progress (him confessing that he wants her but he doesn’t want to put his armor down) they also go back

kaz: brutal, it has all the teen angst that kaz has also the line “i’m so sick of seventeen, where’s my fucking teenage dream” shows how he never truly got to be a teenager or even a child, and the line “i only have two real friends” is perfect for the kaz, inej, and jesper trio

nina: favorite crime, “all the things i did, just so i could call you mine” is the perfect line for helnik... her agreeing to go with kaz to break matthias out of hell gate, and all the stupid heist they did together. also when the songs says “one heart broke, four hands bloody” can show how when he died he left her with a broken heart but they both loved eachother (four hands)

jesper: enough for you, okay hear me out. it’s about his crush on kaz how he wanted to be everything that he liked but kaz never looked at him in that way. “you found someone more exciting” kaz found inej, his spider. and the line, “all i ever wanted was to be enough for you” shows how jesper tried every thing to get kaz to trust him

wylan: hope ur ok, “family was merely blood” shows how even though Jan was his dad he didn’t really love him or treated him like a son. “do you know how proud i am you were created, with the courage to unlearn all of their hatred” the crows took him in as one of their own and showed him he didn’t need his father and kaz giving him task through the books showing him that just because you can’t read doesn’t mean your useless

matthias: good 4 u, think of pre broken out of hell gate matthias, he loved her so much and she just left him there and “moved on” (even though that’s not what she really did) and for all he cared she only “loved him” to put him on trial

Manon Blackbeak and the Thirteen RANT

Out of all the books I’ve read and all the character stories I’ve witnessed, Manon’s ending has to be the most painful. Everyone else in KoA got a—relatively—happy ending, but to me she never seemed to get closure. And part of me doesn’t think she ever will

I mean, imagine losing not only your best friend but your entire family that has fought by your side for so many years and they sacrificed themselves for a cause that they didn’t necessarily have to care about but they did anyway because they were just that loyal and true.

Everyone was worried about major characters dying, so I feel like part of what made the Thirteen’s sacrifice so devastating was that it was is unexpected. I can’t handle it. I don’t know how other people feel about this but I cry like a baby every time I think about it. If anyone has any Thirteen appreciation posts/fanart please send them to me I need healing

Friendly Reminder that when Emrys pleaded with Rowan to help Aelin in Heir of Fire, Emrys told him that Aelin offerd a better world. And in Empire or Storms when Rowan went to talk to his relatives the eve of the battle with Maeve’s fleet, he told the Whitethorns that Aelin offers a better world.

A Court Of Silver Flames

Okay, It's here, we have a title, okay, stay calm. Some analysis because nobody asked but I love to answer anyway

Sjm has taken a turn away from the classic "A Court of blank and blank". But she still follows the general theme. This could elude to the fact that this book is a lot like the others, but will still be slightly different. We can safely assume its not Feyre's POV and it will probably be taking place outside of the courts, and their politics, as we know them.

The Silver is presumably referring to Cassian and his steel/weapons, but also to Nesta's "Silver Tongue". The Flames are probably Nesta's fire/fury, but it could also have connections with the red of Cassians syphons, or the heat if their passion.

Alternatively, the silver flame could be just referring to Nesta.

It was mentioned a few times that Nesta took something else from the couldron when she went in. Its likely that that left her with some sort of power, so maybe these silver flames are the form these powers take?

Silver flames could also be like a charm or pendant. Maybe a charm or pendant that Cassian had it in a box? That ended up in the Sidra? Okay thats a stretch but still possible!
