defensive hygos is definitely a little weird because hygos is just not at all meant to be defensive but i think with the right set something really funny could happen. its relatively basic but what if powerful db cow bear. get some of the damage back, get some extra weight, still have recovery with heal step, be able to flip between more damage or more speed if you can get an aggro or cower off
i was originally thinking about a speed set but honestly if you want a powerful rushdown damager base hygos is right there and does it better with offensive poison and bleed. it doesnt take advantage of overgrown hygos' unique stuff at all
i could actually also see ginger or tannen? make hygos even harder to take down and let that high bleed work even more. id go for ginger because you dont want to add even more to your bcd that you have to offset with a bite trait, youd much rather add more damage

Stolen eggs can hatch (before they are broken or go rot) and you can plant your eggs in other nests, where they will hatch as your species, but will look like nestle mother for her (and also for everyone who in the pack and/or was present at the hatching) but not for siblings, they understand perfectly well who these abandoned cuckoos are.
