Moohi’s 5th Birthday Celebration: A Memorable Day at Palolem Beach

Preparation and Cake Hunt

Let me share a quick story about Moohi’s birthday. We decided to celebrate at an art resort in Palolem Beach. Our first challenge was finding the perfect cake. The resort staff weren’t very helpful in locating a special, themed cake for our daughter. We considered going to the market, but luckily, the person who rented us a scooty recommended a nearby bakery. There, we ordered two customized cakes: one for that night and another for the next day.

Eve of the Birthday

On the evening of the 19th, we arrived at the art resort. We were joined by Neha, Moohi, Rahul bhaiya, Diksha didi, Gargi, and Sumit. Around 11:50 PM, we started decorating, finishing just in time for the midnight celebration. At 12:00 AM, we celebrated Moohi’s birthday with a quick cake-cutting ceremony before heading to bed.

Birthday Morning Activities

The next day, Moohi and I had a great time. We started with a trip to the beach, followed by an hour and a half of fun in the swimming pool. After swimming, we were famished. We took a bath, and then Moohi attended painting classes, completing two paintings.

Lunch and Party Preparations

For lunch, we visited a beachside restaurant called “Mosh By The Shore” and enjoyed some biryani. Afterward, we returned to the art resort to prepare for Moohi’s main celebration. We had brought decorative items from Bangalore and booked a hut at the Art Resort Cafe for the party. Thanks to Rahul Bhaiya’s negotiation skills, we got the hut for just 3,500 rupees instead of the usual 6,000 to 8,000 rupees.

The Surprise Party

We planned a surprise for Moohi. After the Art Resort team decorated the hut according to our ideas, we blindfolded Moohi and led her to the party. When she opened her eyes, she was amazed to see her favorite characters, Elsa and Anna, along with the cake. Everyone gave gifts: I and Neha gave Moohi a kitchen set, and Sumit gave her an Elsa dress , and Rahul Bhaiya gifted her a Casio piano.

An Unexpected Encounter

After the cake-cutting, I rushed to return the scooter and noticed a girl who looked remarkably like Moohi. I informed Neha, who confirmed the resemblance. The girl, named Aisha, was from a Gujarati family living in Mumbai. It was a strange and surprising experience to find someone who looked so similar to Moohi.

The Grand Finale

As we were about to leave, we remembered the live music and birthday song included in our package. Everyone joined in singing, creating an amazing atmosphere. It was a fantastic end to the celebration.

Reflections

This birthday turned out to be even better than anticipated. Moohi enjoyed every moment, indulging in her favorite activities like swimming, visiting the ocean, and drawing. The Elsa theme was a hit. Although we missed having family around, it was still one of her best birthdays ever, making it a truly special day for all of us.

Exploring the Andaman Islands: A Guide to Port Blair, Swaraj Dweep, and Neil Island

In December 2023, I explored the Andaman Islands, an extraordinary place. Here’s how it went and some advice if you plan.

Chapter 1: Exploring Port Blair

Cellular Jail Light Show: This is something you've got to see. I booked the 7:30 pm show online. It’s really hot there, so bringing a water bottle is a good idea.

Samudrika Marine Museum: This place is amazing. It displays rare sea creatures and provides information about the local tribes. It’s definitely not your ordinary museum.

Marina Park and Corbyn's Cove Beach: Spending an evening at Marina Park is so peaceful. It’s a great spot to relax. Then, I took a quick ride to Corbyn's Cove Beach. The beach itself is okay, not the best, but it’s a nice place to visit. The jet ski experience there is pretty cool. Also, make sure to check out Flag Point; it’s along the same route.

Chapter 2: Adventures in Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island)

Ferry to Swaraj Dweep: If you're going to Havelock, definitely opt for the deluxe class on the ferry. The sea can get pretty rough, and the extra comfort really helps.

Elephant Beach: This place is a paradise for fun activities. You can enjoy snorkelling, seawalk, and jet skiing. Trekking there gives you more time to enjoy everything. The snorkelling is a must-do – the coral and fish are just amazing. And the seawalk, well, it's something else. I couldn’t do it because my ears didn’t agree, but you should totally try it if you can. It's the only place in India where you can do this.

Kalapathar Beach: The sunrise here is absolutely stunning. I rented a scooty, which was great because I got to enjoy Kalapathar in the morning and then head to Radhanagar later in the day. Radhanagar Beach is just so beautiful, especially at sunset. And hey, if you're there, get some photos taken. There are local photographers around who really know their stuff – they've got the best poses and spots figured out.

Chapter 3: Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) Discoveries

Lakshmanpur Beach: This beach is a quiet place where you can really feel the peace. The sea level changes a lot here, which is cool to watch. But a heads-up about Neil Island — it's a bit off the grid. If you're relying on your phone, you might find it tricky. I barely got any signal with Jio, and Airtel was just a little better.

General Observations and Conclusion In Andaman, the locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. It's funny, due to the islands not being overly crowded, you often bump into the same tourists at different spots, which adds a familiar feel to the whole trip. It's perfect for family vacations – I'd totally recommend bringing your parents along. Wrapping it up, Andaman is a world apart from busier places like Goa. It's the ideal spot if you're looking for a laid-back, family-friendly getaway. The rich Bengali culture and stunning natural beauty here make it a truly unique destination.

Life Changes and My Return to Blogging

Hi friends,

It's been a long time since I've blogged, but I've decided to start again. Life has changed dramatically, with priorities shifting, yet the ultimate goal remains the same. Many changes have occurred in my life; for instance, I got married and now have kids. By the grace of God, everything is going well. Though I understand people prefer watching videos, I'm not particularly skilled at speaking. So, I will try to put down my thoughts and share them with you.

I have noticed that my last blog was in 2017, and now it's almost 2024. This means I am usually very active around the New Year. But this time, I will try to be really active and keep giving updates.

I hope you all are finding happiness in your lives and making progress.

Things i learned when my heart took all over my mind

Your body has 2 things in general which decides how you will behave - Mind And Heart, to maintain a good life, you should balance both. I find that, the heart is blind and will force you to do something that you really don’t want to do. It always brings misery and misery loves company.

When you are having this feelings, find someone who is dealing with similar problem and advise him. He might ignore your advice, but not you. Your mind will accept your advice calmly. Probably this is the advise which you like to listen. This might sound counterintuitive, but it works.

Discussing your problem over and over again doesn’t solve your problem magically. You have to find the root cause and work on it. That is the only way.

Mixing emotions with logic is bullshit, it just makes story messier. Avoid it.

When you are in pain, both mentally and physically, your mind will focus on physical pain. The [average] physical pain is tolerable, but mental pain (so called stress) isn’t. Joining a gym or doing a big workout is really a good way to fix such problem.

Social media platforms like whatsapp, Facebook or whatever are not the good way to interact with pals. You can’t understand anyone nature by using these platforms. Meeting is the best way to know anyone.

You have a limited time and you should do multiple things parallelly. Prioritise your activities and do it simultaneously.

Bad time is really a good time to judge the people. It brings the true face. Don't miss the opportunity to judge it.

We are the part of fabricated life and that is the reason why our life is so complicated. Don’t bash on unnecessary things, you are the hero of your life.

First time I felt like, it was good move to not read newspaper. At least I'm not on those person who read about Hritik Roshan & Kangana Rawat life (internal matters). I can't even say to those people to "get life" ; unfortunately their life stuck & revolves in those things. It's not their fault, it's the media doing it. They brought this nonsense, and people start loving all this crap. It is the "rat trap". They got access to your brain and manipulate your thoughts. I'm sorry if i hurt you, but that's the brutal truth. Focus on thing which matters, differentiate what is noise vs signal. Good luck

Smart people are not working on Big problem

It is interesting to see that not many smart people are not working on world big problems like education, medicine, disaster management etc.

Most of the people are working on things which are good and doesn’t really required improvement like social networking, entertainment, ecommerce. Stop it guys, work on something that deserves attention.

Fortunately we have one giant company ie google who is writing the future and doing some of the best thing. But that is not enough.

The reason is people are quite scared about such thing. This seems like impossible to them. For some they give excuse that their education/background is not those things. Well let me tell you one thing, the lack of resources is only because you are not working on it. And for your information, money is not the problem. I have seen few investors who are ready to put money on this things.

Do something big that can make world a better place something like curing a cancer or solving energy problem. Not the one another app which help you to buy items from near by store or selfie app.

If you want to earn money first and then you want to do all this things, it’s fine. But i see only few people who are doing it like bill gates and elon musk. Hope you will soon join the list.

Yes I’m going to work on such sector soon.

Regaining my  confidence

Lately i started feeling that successful people are born talented. They have something which are/is missing in most of the people including me. Sometimes i get the feeling that  i’m not smart enough, even people around me think that i can’t do it. I was broken, loosing the confidence.    But after seeing  How I Became Artist  and Noah comment in hacker news and numerous quotes like this  

I can say that I’m moving in right direction and I will work harder.

Respected PM,

You are a big inspiration for me and I have supported you in 2014 election with a hope that you will solve our problem. I know you are doing tons time better than previous PMs, but I am sorry to say that thing are still not good. This is just my opinion.

Sir, I don't have any problem related to corruption in fact I think that once our country started developing rapidly, the corruption problem will be tore out automatically from our society.

The one where I want you to focus on are as follows

Our country is still suffering terrorism, I know you have spoken this thing in UNO. But still this isn't yet solved.

Next is rape cases. I understand this scenario but atleast the one who found guilty should be hanged...in PUBLIC. I think this will bring fear and might minimises such rape cases. You can do this. It is easy for you change the law. You already did it once. The bastard who did two rapes are still alive, why?

I sincerely hope that you will put extra effort on the above two things.

Last but not least I really like to thank you for inspiring and awakening our nation.

Don't believe in what people say

Few month ago, I took one survey. I got plenty of responses and some of it are counterintuitive.

As an example, some people said they want to learn updated courses. I spent couple of years with them; we have studied together and every time there was some change in education syllabus these guys were the first who freaked out and hard time in studying. How can this guys say that they love change if they don't love it?

I think the reason people say things that they aren't suppose to is just they are use of faking people, telling lies to themselves. They aren't aware of what they like.

Instead of believing people words if you focus on their action, body language or behavior you will 100% going to find the correct answer.

Why? It is because controlling actions aren't easy as compared to words.

Dear @Github, its time to put karma in user profiles

From past few days, i am watching some Github open source projects. On this duration, I found something missing in Github.

Some people open new issue and ask a question or ask for help. Most of the time they don't even bother to search/read/learn it.

If a guy is facing same issue which is already open, he tend to reply with +1.

Both of this thing happening every day and guy who use to manage big open source project (and also watchers like me) certainly receive all of the stupid email notifications. I don't know how those guys tolerate this emails.

My proposed solution for this problem is to introduce points / karma type of reputation engine like HN and/or Stackoverflow. This will solve both of this problem in very clever way.

People don't open new useless issue unless he is very sure. If he does, the community (or open source project peoples) will downvote his issue which will turn make a negative impact on his profile due to the points.

People who were facing same issues will upvote the issue, this will give idea to contributor that he need to solve that particular issue first.

There are many other applications where it is very advantageous, you can guess it.
