I love when people ask "how did you learn this skill?" I just started, there's no secret. that's it. a vast majority of the time the only thing holding you back is your trepidation to start.
Why does everything have to happen in the meantime? Why can't it happen in the nicetime??
you might be the most enlightened person on the planet
"Love" that it has somehow become controversial even among trans men to say that trans men are men. And not in some metaphorical sense or whatever, not in a "gender isn't real" sense, not in a "but they're still female" sense, but in the sense that trans men are real, actual, MEN. And in addition: trans men that medically transition are MALE. That's what medical transition does: it changes your fucking sex! That's the whole point of it! And no, not just when you get grs, HRT alone does that too!
But no, so fucking many of them hate trans women so goddamn much that they've committed to misgendering themselves and spreading TERF ideology about how "they'll always be female" just so they can insist that the inverse is also true: that trans women are actually, and always will be, men and male.
This is just what medical transition is like
Yeah exactly
The whole “protect the children” stuff makes a lot more sense when you realize that they treat their children like their possessions, so it’s less “let our children live their best lives” and more “don’t mess with my long term investment”

I know episode 56 has barely come out, but while I was listening, this drawing was beamed into my brain like an eldritch horror protagonist glimpsing the beast
[Image description: Color fanart of Pickman and Colette surrounded by swirls of pixelated color.
Pickman’s word balloon contains the Sasuke gay pride meme edited to read, “‘I don’t dance,’ Pickman snapped back. ‘Anyway, what’s Gay Pride Day? What are they proud of?’” She is holding a glass of wine and has an untied tie draped around her shoulders.
Colette frowns in bemusement at her. Colette is depicted as a devil with brown skin, long curly dark hair, and spectacles.

A merry Pickman pride to all those who celebrate!!! May we all get invited to queer art shows and introduce invasive species of trains to imperialist utopias this June!
i do not at all mean this in a perjorative manner, but i do think it’s important to be able to consume a piece of media and go, “i’m not the audience for this” and be able to just walk away
there doesn’t have to be something wrong or “problematic” about something for a person to not like it. personal taste is personal taste. but something not doing it for you doesn’t mean it automatically has to be wrong or bad. it’s just not for you.
There’s been several times when I’ve watched a thing and been like, they clearly did what they intended to do, and did it well, and I don’t want any part of it. This is a high quality and deeply unpleasant piece of art.
“This is a high quality and deeply unpleasant piece of art” is a wonderful line, I love it, I feel it in my soul
too good a take to be left in the tags

WE HAVE GOT TO START LOVING THE PROCESS MORE THAN THE PRODUCT AGAIN
I would love to see a fantasy novel where the lore that the reader / protagonist learns at first is not true
e.g. they're told that this kind of creature has some kind of psychic or pheromone-based "mate bond" that cannot be broken; but it turns out that's a popular myth that has never been scientifically substantiated, and is basically used to keep people in bad relationships (basically the equivalent of "human women are biologically submissive")
"lore" is imo too often treated like information that the author is giving the reader, and it just happens to be using the medium of diagetic (that is, 'in-story') exposition.
it's so much more interesting and dynamic to treat "lore" as information that is generated and disseminated in-story. who is telling the protagonist this information? under what historical and social circumstances was this idea formed? what political motives are there for trying to get people to believe this information? which characters would disagree with it? would the protagonist believe it, or be sceptical? does the plot bear it out, or cast doubt on it?
