HUNTR/X (a bit polytrix flavoured🥰) fanart 🩷💜💙✨️

Done with Copic Sketch markers, water colour pearlescent paint, white ink and coloured pencils on cold-press mixed media paper 🌸✨️

This film really came out of nowhere, and I have to admit, I was a bit put off by the title when it first started to gain popularity 🙈😅 It sounded like something made for small children, and while I absolutely love animation (and would often choose it over live action) this one sounded like it had a very young audience in mind 🫠 But I was definitely proven wrong, it's so well written and incredibly endearing and relatable 🥺 I would protect these girlies with my life (not that they need it, ofc, but the sentiment still stands haha)🥺 love them sooo so much💕✨

I think I like the digital colour comps more than the finished analog version 😅 I think i went a bit wild with the highlights and really threw off the contrast in important areas... I just can't help myself with the little white sparkles and particles 🙈 ah well, just another day in life of a sparkle maximalist, I suppose 🫠😅🙈✨️

This is a watercolour painting of one of my recurring OC's, I used a chrome ink pen to do the outline of a cherry blossom tree inside the sort of moon gate type circle behind her. I actually painted this for my mum for mother's day a few years ago, we both love pink, girly things so this was lots of fun to do!

Kaedehara Kazuha from Genshin Impact on cold-press watercolour paper done in watercolours, acrylic gouache, ink, pearlcolors and coloured pencils 🍁🍂💫✨️

Zuzu is one of my favourite fictional characters in anything ever 💕 He's so sweet and gentle but fierce and protective when necessary! 🌸

I'm hoping to make fanart for all the anemo boys in this style (Xiao, Heizou, Wanderer/Hat Guy (😅), Venti and Anemo Traveller/Aether... I believe the six of them together are unofficially called 6REEZE, like an idol group 🙈)!

This painting actually took me an unusually long time, I think because I loved the sketch so much I was worried I would ruin it when I added colour (happens more often than not, unfortunately) so I put it away for over half a year before picking it back up again to actually paint, and I'm so glad I did, It came out just as I imagined it would (happens... almost never!) :)

That's probably why there are so many progress photos as I was waiting to make some irreversible mistake and then I'd have to go in digitally to fix it so I wanted to "save" as much of the process as I could, just in case

Word of Honor/山河令/SHL fanart on procreate 🩷 The cdrama version of this danmei was my obsession in 2021! WenZhou are the sweetest murder husbands 🥺🤭🌸✨️

One of my few completed digital pieces, as I'm not a digital artist by any means, I find it's much harder to call a piece finished when it feels like you could go on making adjustments forever 😅 Glad I managed to finish this one, at least 💕✨️

An interpretation of Wei Wuxian from Mo Dao Zu Shi/The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by MXTX 🩷 (featuring a watermark with my old Instagram handle 😅)

Between watching the first two seasons of the donghua and countless rewatches of The Untamed/Chen Qing Ling, and reading hundreds od thousands of words worth of incredible fanfics... I landed on this wavy-haired WWX 🥰 He's quite small only about 5.5 inches or 12 cm in height! And between the texture of the cold-pressed watercolour paper and the small size of the portrait I had to keep my pencils really sharp so the details stayed as clear as possible 😅 I really should make my paintings bigger, I'm sure it'd, make every part of the process a lot easier 🫠

Anyhoo, this is on a squarei-ish off cut of cold pressed watercolour paper, watercolours and coloured pencils were used and finishing highlights were done with a white sakura gelly roll pen! 🥰

A simple little portrait of little King Evan from Ni No Kuni II! 🩷

I absolutely loved this game when I played it in 2018! So whimsical and lovely but still exciting and engaging 🥰 Evan is such a cute character so I wanted to do a little portrait of him so I could vicariously pet his little ears through my paintbrush 🥺 He's such a cutie pie🤭

This was done on hot-press watercolour paper, probably about A5 square (I believe it was a random off-cut piece from another painting). I used mostly watercolours and coloured pencils for the details! 🩷✨️

It was a gift for a friend's birthday in 2019, so they have the original painting🌸 still one of my favourites 🥰

Haitang: China is cracking down on young women who write gay erotica

"Every word I once wrote has come back to haunt me," posted a writer who says she was arrested for "obscene" work.

As someone who enjoys the wide variety of stories that these authors have given us, it’s disheartening to see how much censorship and targeting they face. I really hope the authors can stay safe and I’m heartbroken for them.

My only criticism with this article is the heavy focus on the ‘female desire’ aspect of Danmei, (even if that is part of it) especially considering a lot of these stories offer representation where other genres and authors don’t even try. Not to mention the incredibly complex plot lines and stories these authors create which it feels like is being overlooked here.

It’s very easy for readers to just dismiss these stories as a result when there’s a lot more to them.

However, this article is very important to read. And we should all be aware of what’s happening.

And as for the parts that talk about China pushing for ‘traditional family values’ it’s a stark reminder to all of us that homophobia, misogyny and transphobia are all linked and we need to look out for each other.
