I went to a poetry workshop yesterday that was genuinely quite good but also included an option to disclose astrology designations during introductions and so many people broke out some variation of "I'm a [x] sum but I have a [y] placement and it SHOWS" girl no it doesn't. that's meaningless correlation you completely invented the causation

imagine eating a big meal after a long hungry day. it doesn't have to be fancy or high effort or even particularly healthy, just something that makes your mouth water. imagine the feeling you get as you take those first bites, as you dig in, those waves of satiety making you say shit like "omg this is SO good." now imagine it was a meal you haven't had since you were a kid, and that it brought back a sudden vivid memory of your childhood that you'd all but forgotten until right now. but it's not just the memory. there are so many emotions that connect to so many other parts of your life, albeit fleetingly and abstractly. maybe it gets you thinking about the past, and how far you've come, or how far you've yet to go. maybe it knocks something into place and you realize you are strong enough to make it through this, whatever "this" is. maybe that blocked project doesn't feel so insurmountable anymore, that tough conversation on the horizon doesn't fill you with as much anxiety. maybe you decide to contact someone you spoken to in years. or maybe you just really, really needed to eat a big plate of food, and it's made you grateful to be alive.

now imagine you're eating with friends and you share this train of thought to whatever extent you feel comfortable, and after a brief silence the only response you get is "dude, it's not that deep."

Our landlord keeps increasing our rent, and we will be at the mercy of the drones and the tanks if we have to leave, on top of having to leave behind all of our belongings.
