Jack and Robby have been married for a long time. They've kept it quiet, not necessarily a secret but just not talking about it ever. Robby loves his husband very much, so he starts to panic when he can't stop thinking about Dennis. It terrifies him. He's interested in another man that isn't his husband. He feels ashamed, disgusted, and like the worst husband in the world.
Eventually he cant stop himself from bringing up moments he's had during work with the kid. Every time he does, he bites his tongue and blushes, cutting himself off. He can't let Jack know he's head over heels for someone else.
One night, Robby is overwhelmed with guilt, not touching Jack, just sleeping on his side facing away. Jack turns over, spooning him from behind.
Robby lets out a shaky breath.
"I- I can't... I need to tell you something, Jack."
"I'm so sorry... I- I've been having these feelings..."
"What kind of feelings, love?"
Robby is quiet, scared to look Jack in the eyes. He's just ruined a whole marriage over an awkward intern.
"Mikey... is it that new kid? The one that just started his residency?"
Of course Jack knows. He's not stupid.
Robby's voice is hoarse. The room is silent for a moment. Robby's eyes fill with tears, his stomach hurting. He can see his whole world falling apart around him.
"He's a cute kid. I can see why."
Robby tenses with pure confusion and fear. Jack's voice sounds less hurt and more... teasing?
Jack turns Robby around firmly, making him look at him. He sits them both up, then immediately wipes Robby's tears.
"Oh sweetheart... why the tears? Tell me what's wrong?
"What's wrong? Jack, I- I cheated on you!"
Jack raises an eyebrow, a light smirk appearing.
"Oh? You already made a move?"
Robby's face reddens. What the fuck is happening?
"What? No- I mean- no, he doesn't know... but I emotionally cheated!"
Jack chuckles, burying his face in Robby's neck.
"You are ridiculous. You thought I didn't know about your little crush?"
Robby's mind is short circuiting. Everything about this feelings wrong and confusing.
"Dennis is a cute kid. I don't blame you, love. He seems to like you a lot too. Wouldn't even be surprised if there was something there. I like him. He's good for you."
"Jack... I can't- if you're trying to be selfless or something and- and let me go... let him have me instead, I can't do that-"
"Oh you aren't going anywhere. You're my Robby."
"But I wouldn't mind sharing you is all I'm saying."
