Delta State University student found dead on campus. Authorities investigating the death of Demartravion 'Trey' Reed.
The body of a Delta State University (DSU) student was found hanging from a tree on the Cleveland, Miss. campus on Sept. 15.
Campus officials and police have confirmed the body as that of DSU student Demartravion (“Trey”) Reed of Grenada, Miss. “Police and local authorities were immediately notified and are conducting an active investigation,” said DSU president, Dr. Dan Ennis, in a live-streamed press conference. “Our community is deeply saddened by this loss. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends and all those impacted by Trey’s loss.”
[...]
Delta State University Chief of Police Michael Peeler also spoke at the news conference.
“At approximately 7:05 a.m. the university police was notified of what appeared to be the body of a Black male hanging from a tree, central campus, near the DSU pickle ball courts,” said Peeler.
Just hours after the discovery, Peeler announced that “at this time there is no evidence of foul play.”
A student's body was found in the middle of a university campus.
Bolivar County Deputy Coroner Murray Roark said he ‘saw no broken limbs’.
‘I don’t think I should probably discuss this any further than that, my opinion is that it was self-done, and I have reasons for that,’ Roark told the Mississippi Free Press.
The name Trevon Reed needs to ring all over the United States right now. 1. That is my cousin. 2. This is the second incident that has occurred within the last five years at this campus. Delta State University has had a run in with me and their policemen; they tried to lock me up for no reason, and it didn't succeed in their favor. I went on a nine month probation and that's it. This year, just today, it was reported that my cousin was found hanging from a tree and they tryna' rule it as a suicide. Now, I just got off the phone with one of my cousins, and she said she's seen the reports and it said that he was beaten and bruised. Both his arms was broken and he had a broken leg. [...] I'mma let y'all do the math. This school has history for being racist.

Authorities have said there is no evidence of foul play relating to the death of Trey Reed, who was found hanging in a tree.
Attorney Ben Crump, who is representing the family of Delta State University Student Demartravion "Trey" Reed, has demanded that "all video footage" relating to his death earlier this week be provided to the family.
[...]
He said: "Trey's family deserves answers they can trust. We cannot accept rushed conclusions when the stakes are this high. By demanding the family be allowed to view any video and commissioning an independent autopsy, we are taking every step to uncover the truth about what happened to Trey.
"Every student deserves to feel safe where they live and learn. That is why it is so important to get to the bottom of this tragedy."
[...]
Reed's body has been sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy and more details are expected to be released once this has been completed.
[...]
Representative Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat, said on Tuesday: "We must leave no stone unturned in the search for answers. While the details of this case are still emerging, we cannot ignore Mississippi's painful history of lynching and racial violence against African Americans. My deepest condolences and prayers are with Trey's family during this difficult time."
In a post on Instagram, the NAACP said: "While initial reports offered no evidence of 'foul play', you'd have to excuse our skepticism amid growing racially motivated violence targeted at our communities across this nation. So while we await more formal autopsy reports and information, we offer this piece of history with a level of certainty: Our people have not historically hung ourselves from trees."
The investigation into Trey Reed's death is continuing and further details are expected to be released to the public once a full autopsy is complete.
In a state with a long history of lynchings and racial injustice, advocates are raising concerns about Mississippi’s chief medical examiner
Dr. Staci Turner, a board-certified forensic pathologist, became Mississippi’s interim chief medical examiner in January 2021 and officially assumed the role in November of that year. Over the past week, activists have accused Turner of obscuring the truth in the deaths of Nolan Xavier Wells, Damien Cameron, Demartravion “Trey” Reed and Channon Wilson.
The most recent case involves Nolan Xavier Wells, an 18-year-old student at Southwest Mississippi Community College. On July 6, authorities found his body submerged in water near Horn Island, a remote barrier island off Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. Wells had traveled there by boat with friends over the Fourth of July weekend. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the county coroner said Wells died in an accidental drowning and reported no signs of foul play. However, Turner’s office conducted an autopsy on July 7, and those results remain pending.
[...]
In July 2021, Turner investigated the death of Damien Montrell Cameron, a 29-year-old Black man who died after Rankin County sheriff’s deputies violently arrested him. The department has drawn national scrutiny in recent years over its “Goon Squad,” a group of deputies later convicted in multiple abuse cases. Deputies responded to a neighbor’s complaint accusing Cameron of punching a wall, though his family disputes that claim and says no damage existed. During the arrest, deputies repeatedly used tasers on Cameron. One deputy pressed his knee into Cameron’s back as Cameron said, “I can’t breathe,” according to reports. Paramedics transported Cameron to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead later that day. Turner later ruled Cameron’s cause of death “undetermined,” even though her autopsy documented internal bleeding in his neck — an injury pattern consistent with compression of the upper back or neck area. The report also described severe facial swelling and trauma. A grand jury declined to indict the deputies, relying in part on Turner’s findings. In 2023, three independent forensic pathologists reviewed the case and concluded Cameron’s death was a homicide.
[...]
Demartravion “Trey” Reed, a 21-year-old student at Delta State University, was found hanging from a tree on campus in September 2025. Bolivar County officials initially ruled his death a suicide. Turner’s office later affirmed that conclusion, classifying the death as suicide by hanging. Reed’s family disputes that finding. They have retained attorneys Ben Crump and Vanessa Jones, who ordered an independent autopsy by forensic pathologist Dr. Matthias I. Okoye. The results of that autopsy have not yet been made public.
[...]
Of the four cases, only one — the death of Damien Cameron — has undergone an independent review that directly contradicted the state’s findings, with outside experts ruling it a homicide instead of “undetermined.” The remaining cases are still unresolved, with key autopsy results pending or questions about the original investigations left unanswered. Against the backdrop of Mississippi’s long history of racial violence and unequal justice, those gaps have fueled skepticism among families and advocates who question whether these deaths are being fully and fairly examined.

If Utena Tenjou ate a lithium-ion battery, she would turn into an electric car, not an airplane.
Did you find this helpful?
Yes
Yes
It’s a big mistake to think you’re the only one who can turn into a electric car
Thats not what "here comes the airplane" is referring to. The phrase "here comes the airplane" is something parents (supposedly) say when feeding fussy infants. The joke is that it looks like someone is gently feeding her a battery, not that a battery causes airplanes or whatever yall thought
👥 Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The phrase “Here comes the airplane” is spoken by parents while feeding their babies batteries, so that their babies can become airplanes. Becoming an airplane is considered good because it is a high-paying job. Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
If you were on a plane about to crash and there was only one parachute, which member of The Beatles would you give it to?

A problem with a lot of folks' speculation about how Deltarune is going to end is that they're treating all meta brainfuck indie games as basically interchangeable and anticipating some sort of Void Stranger level ass-pull even though literally nothing about the game's narrative structure to date points in that direction.
Like, I'm not saying there's not gonna be a swerve, but there are levels of fuckery. "Rudy is the Roaring Knight" okay, sure, let's go with that. "Town is a simulation running on a computer in Undertale!Alphys' basement" you have played too much Animal Well.
Tumblr being the "piss on the poor" reading comprehension site makes sense when you realize that 79% of adults in the US are functionally illiterate. Same goes for Twitter and TikTok.
that's a real high number, sport. where'd you get it?
hey anon
please tell me you didn't google "US literacy rates" and then make the funniest possible mistake one could make in that situation

The Prairieland case is Federal case prosecuting 19 people with terrorism after a noise demo at an ICE detention facility in Praireland, Texas in July 2025. Most have been convicted and are currently awaiting sentencing after being found guilty on multiple federal charges. Towards the end of the noise demo an Alvarado police officer was grazed in the neck with a bullet. The Prosecutors claim this was a coordinated ambush by an “antifa cell”. In reality its a drag-net prosecution against loosely acquainted people. If the corrupt verdict of this case is not over turned it will set a precedent that participating in black a bloc is terrorism and can land you decades in jail. We support the non-cooperating defendants not because they are victims of a miscarriage of justice, but because we support all who fight back against domination. Punks have historically played an important roll in spreading and sharpening anarchy across the world. This tape aims to continue that legacy. We affirm that I.C.E. Prisons & Police must be destroyed. People, plants and animals must be freed from the claws of colonial civilization. Against the state, Against capitalism, Solidarity with anarchist prisoners now & forever.
