There were so many people in this castle, all trapped, all doing their best to figure the way out of their situation. But to someone like Beau, it felt like he was drowning in a sea of people. He headed to the library to get some space, running into Percy whilst there. He wasnât great at sign language but could communicate enough. âIâve never been much of a reader myself,â he admitted, âUnless it was for school but even then,â he chuckled. âAre you into that kind of thing? - buildings, I mean.â Beau questioned.
Upon recognizing the signs, Percyâs face lit up. âDepends on the buildings. I like learning things. Anything really, the topic doesnât matter all that much.â Percy replied, his hands flying at first but slowing to a more understandable pace once he began to catch himself. He barely kept up the speech as he rambled on, he was so excited to meet someone else who knew. âWhat interests me about architecture, especially, isnât necessarily the buildings or styles themselves, but...but the historical or cultural significance of them, yâknow?âÂ
He hesitated, frustrated at his own inability to place the person heâd started this conversation with. Heâd like to think heâd remember the other people in the castle who knew how to sign. Not only that, but there were enough important, royal people in the palace that he thought they might get offended and he might get in trouble if he didnât know who they were. All the more reason for him to feel kind of stupid. Still, he decided itâd be best to ask anyway. âIâm Percy. Have we met?â
