Rabastan’s groan was less then subtle. A younger version of himself would have given his house elf’s right knee to be in this study with his father. Now, as long as Galleons kept filling his pockets on a regular basis, Rabastan couldn’t be arsed. In fact, he had been hoping to bypass the middle man all together and lift a few coins off the old man. But, Julien was home, patronizingly acting as though Rabastan had a choice in the matter. The boy pivoted on the spot, with his jaw set marched himself a step or two into the room.

“Yes?”

“I am taking a trip to Bulgaria to check on the business and you are coming with me.” His cold blue eyes flash back to the parchment in his hand. “With your brother’s engagement comes more eyes on us, which means you need to step up and act like the Lestrange you are.” Summer had just begin, he would not let his youngest waste another. Julien still considered it a travesty that Rabastan had barely made it out of Hogwarts, it was time for games to end. 

Looking at his son was like looking in a mirror into the past. The two couldn’t look more different except for the Lestrange blue eyes, but the mannerisms, the carelessness... it was uncanny.

And it needed to be stomped out. Now.

How do you feel about Rabastan ' s family?

Dei has known the Lestrange’s since she was young,. Their parents moved in the same circles and had the same ideals for how the wizarding world should be run.

She is conflicted in her feelings because she loves the boys (Rod and Rab), Rod was nice to her and Rab is her best friend and adores theirr cousin too but it is the adults she takes issue with. Their father Julien Lestrange she is more than a little intimated by, he is a strong man known for his skills with a wand and his mind. He is a man with firm opinions and she always feels like he can read her, even when he laughs his eyes are cold and always observant. Now that she is has been set up with Rabastan she feels the pressure even more because Julien has a lot stored on family name and family honor and with every time she sees him it is like he adds on a lead weight.Their mother Bridgette Lestrange is a complete cow (dei’s words not mine). She is upper class and snobbish and just plain cold, Dei hates the way that Bridgette has treated her sons and the fact she has little to no regard for them makes Dei want to smack her with a broom. Bridgette disproves of Dei’s ‘less than lady like nature’ and the fact she would prefer to fly brooms than be a proper pureblooded lady. She has never felt welcomed by this cold woman and would rather fall off her broom than suck up to her but she knows that she has to be nice.
