In September, I am going to become a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving for 18-24 months and during this time I will be away from social media.

In preparation of this thing, today will be my last day on tumblr. I have pondered and prayed over what last message to share. And these are the thoughts that came to mind.

I believe that we are of inherent worth. That our lives have great significance and importance. And that we were sent to this Earth for a reason. Because we wanted to experience mortality for all of its joys and sorrows. We could not know one without the other.

I believe that you and I are loved for by many. Many people beyond comprehension on both sides of the veil. In this life and the life to come. But especially by our Father in Heaven, and in His Son Jesus Christ.

I love the things I’ve created thus far, the communities I’ve been part of, the friends I’ve made, the tagged posts, the shared interests, and various other little joys in life I’ve been given through being online.

To my beloved friends reading this, mutuals and peeps thereof, I love you. Thank you for sharing your happiness with me. Please remember to take care of yourself in the ways that are needed and matter. I know life gets difficult sometimes, but no matter what, there will always be a new dawn. And you can try again, okay?

That goes for any one else reading this too :)

Hello everyone!

I haven’t made the time to upload any of my studies on tumblr as of late. I’ve been focusing more of my ministry in person more so than online, but! Just wanted to let it be known that my missionary paperwork has been submitted in completion!

I should be receiving my mission letter (where and when I’ll be sent) in 2-6 weeks! ☺️🤍

For those of you who don’t know, I’m currently preparing to become a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I’ll be gone for 18 months or so as I go out to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ (I believe, depends on which type of mission I’m sent on!) I’m still in the paperwork process for it but once I have a set date to leave I’ll most likely update this post or reblog it again.

I’ve made a lot of friendships and been part of so many different communities while here on tumblr. It’s truly been a mini home within and of itself. Mutuals and friends, for those who want to maintain contact while I’m gone, send me your email!

I know in this blog it’s mainly been a multi fandom one but in addition to that, I’ll also be making more personal posts from now on. Where I share what scriptures or teachings I’m studying from and my testimony on top of that on a semi daily basis. I’m a daughter of God and disciple of Jesus Christ first, I’d love to talk about that more often while I’m still here.

Debating a bit as to wether or not to still reblog other things in this blog or create a side blog for it too. I’ll think it over and if anything changes, I’ll make mention of it! <3

Easter Study Plan

Easter and the New Testament Section, Easter Sunday, March 31st, The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

This past week I’ve focused on what it means to have the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my life. And I’ve come to realize time and time again, how eternal progression is a journey. I didn’t just learn and gain a testimony of these teachings in the past week alone. This has been months to years in the making. Even extending back to the pre mortal existence.

This past week alone, I have had positive experiences with those of whom I love and care for. I have developed a deeper bond with and appreciation for them because of it. All of which has come to pass because I decided to act upon the desire to speak. I have had conversations about family and gospel doctrine. About forgiveness and mistakes. About the past and what it means to live in the present in spite of it. I think of Christ and God throughout it all.

The truth of it is simple, because of Them, I am and can continue to be happy.

I can be blessed with opportunities to use my gift of agency. I can experience the beauties of the world even amidst the pains of it. I know that when I serve my mission, it will be a difficult experience. It will be a rewarding one too. It will be for myself and to help bring forth the gathering of Israel as has been prophesied in times of past. It will be for my friends and family and extended family, in a temporal and spiritual sense, through both sides of the veil.

I testify of the truth that has been shared before in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” I share these things in the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

There is some pretty shocking footage out there of the Baltimore bridge collapse early this morning. I've already seen some incredibly wrong, incredibly insensitive Hot Takes about how shitty the bridge was to have fallen after being bonked by a boat, etc

Please don't be that person.

The facts will come out. Speculation is silly. In addition to loss of life, the Francis Scott Key bridge was a major arterial in that region's highway system. Its loss will be felt for years, and not just to daily commuters.

Baltimore harbor is closed. No shipping at all. This will impact supply chains in ways we cannot even assess yet.

It's pretty fucked up.

Hey y'all, Baltimorian here.

This is a huge fucking deal and if we can't get the harbor clear and operational and shipping contracts move to another city, they will never come back.

That was an arch suspension bridge. What happens when you knock down one strut of an arch? You know, an arch, the engineering principal that relies on distributing force across a specific shape?

That boat was 95 fucking tons.

The boat put in a mayday call to the port, allowing them to shut down traffic on the bridge SAVING TONS OF PEOPLE.

The construction workers are the ones we still can't locate and everyone here is furiously working to save them STILL so it's fucked up beyond belief when everyone from outside is wanting to talk about everything else first and I have hella respect for our mayor and governor for just laying that out when asked.

There are legit critiques you can make about what kinds of engineering could have been done to shore up against this, like more dolphins (special piers that act like traffic poles to keep boats well away from the supporting struts of the bridge) or maybe bumpers, but unless your ass has an engineering degree and can show me your work on how you would keep a 95 ton object traveling at 9 fucking knots and knocking into one leg of an arch suspension bridge from destroying said bridge, you need to sit the fuck down.

If you're worried about people here, there's not much you can do at the moment but you can sure as hell lobby your senators and congresspeople to support Biden sending money to Baltimore to fix this. This is a huge problem and we just do not have the money to fix it. It took from 1972 to 1977 to build the Key bridge and will take that long or longer to replace it. I'm sure there will be lots of talk about corruption and other bullshit but what I've seen so far is the people of Baltimore showing up and showing out for our own, lining up food trucks for first responders, church groups going with potluck food, local boats and helicopters helping in the search (which again is still active).

Some updates:

1) Biden has already called on Congress to provide relief funds (this isn’t a thing he can do on his own, it has to go through Congress) and stated he intends for federal funds to rebuild the bridge. CALL YOUR CONGRESSPEOPLE TODAY AND DEMAND ACTION FOR THE PEOPLE OF BALTIMORE. If your congresspeople are Republican, hit them HARD with what this will do to the American economy and they don’t want to be seen as responsible for plunging us into another recession, now do they?

2) the rescue search for the six missing men has been called off; body recovery efforts are underway. It’s believed all six were Central and South American immigrants. May their memories be for a blessing, and frankly…if life is out of the question, then may their deaths have been quick and without pain.

3) the company that owns the Dali has had three major incidents involving loss of life in the last six years; the Baltimore bridge now makes four. DEMAND INTERNATIONAL MARITIME LAW GET ANSWERS.

Also, we need to make a much bigger deal about the supply chain fuckery this is going to lead to. With the Panama canal water levels being too low for it to run properly, and the attacks in the Red Sea semi-paralysing the Suez, this has added to pressures on international chains.

The port of Baltimore is a major hub for transporting goods. This is going to massively increase pressure on other ports on the East coast - assuming they even have the facilities to deal with all of the materials the Baltimore port would normally work with. If your stuff is being imported to non-baltimore ports, it will still be affected because of the fallout.

Supply chain managers do a lot of problem solving but this is not a tiny blip, this is a major disruption and with several chains STILL struggling the lingering effects from covid (be they because people left the industry, lockdowns or closed boarders preventing trade at the time), this is going to have huge ramification across the entirety of the US, and will likely have effects on other continents too as exports from Baltimore have to be moved to other places to be shipped away!

The harbour is shut, every single thing in the harbour ready for export will need to be moved somewhere else to be exported which adds to other port pressures. Any shop heading into the port has to be diverted - and Ships Are Not Fast. This is a really, really, huge deal

People can love you and still need to get away from you for a bit. And there is nothing toxic about that — it's good, in fact. It helps remind everyone involved that everyone has boundaries, and everyone needs time to themselves.

It's okay. Calm down before you talk about something that made you angry while your loved one is sick. Be sure of what made you mad so you can discuss it together.

Love isn't a one-way street, and it's something that takes work. Part of that work is knowing when you need to step away.
