Not to be a contrarian prairiean but even indigenous people who didn’t have technologies/structures which surpassed european standards at contact and impress by modern day standards still deserve respect. My ancestors were impressive in that they lived with a positive impact on the land, even though they didn’t build permanent houses or anything like that.
