5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
It definitely has to be D-TechnoLife, not just because I think he’d be a Bleach fan but because the lyrics fit his character so well with the theme of overcoming past trauma and being able to move forward and not give up. Even when he does let his insecurities and fears creep up on him, it’s never a deterrent to his goals even if he feels the weight of the world on him
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
Besides people just straight up ignoring him, something that I’ve noticed recently that really gets on my nerves is people saying that he’d be a much more interesting character if he wasn’t a hero or was a reluctant hero. I feel like this trope would be interesting to explore with anyone but Jai, since he’s always had that desire to be a hero, it’s something that defined who he was when he was first introduced! Getting rid of that would just go against his character and wouldn’t make much sense at all and would be a pretty weak subversion
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Yeah I think so! Our personalities aren’t that different and we share similar interests so it’d work out pretty nicely, plus having him as a gaming buddy would be peak I’d 1v1 him in EVERYTHING 😭
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
For some reason I’ve had this image of Jai just playing the drums and absolutely crushing a solo so I definitely do think he’d teach himself how to play the drums by watching tutorials and just doing trial and error to find the perfect rhythm
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Honestly I could see him wearing clothing inspired by Korean streetwear, but at the same time I could also see him wearing graphic tees of different anime’s and video game franchises with baggy pants. Just something casual

It’s gotta be JaiLian, tbh before I got into the ship I lowkey didn’t ship him with anyone, for some reason I couldn’t see him with anyone but I do think Jai and Lian have that potential to be a really nice couple
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
I really do wish dc would just give the poor kid his own friends 😭 because I so badly want to say a canon character but for now I think he’d be best friends with my oc Anthony, I think they’d bond really well over shared interests and them having different personalities would probably make them better friends. Anthony’s outgoing and playful personality would mesh really well with Jai’s more introverted personality, I think Anthony would help Jai feel more comfortable around others and help him come out of his shell more while Jai would help him feel like he has a sense of belonging among the group and give him that sense of peace that Anthony would really appreciate
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I genuinely do love writing him happy. Like just living life and being happy with his friends like he deserves. I don’t like writing angst with him because I genuinely feel bad when I do, he doesn’t deserve it he already goes through enough in canon for him to go through it in my writing (I still do it sometimes tho 😭)
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
Probably Yuji, idk for some reason they both give me similar vibes with them not giving up despite the hardships they face

What really drew me into his character initially was his empathy actually! Just seeing how Jai initially reacted to the news of him and Irey potentially speed aging to their deaths and hiding that from her because he wanted to protect her which in turn led to his powers acting up because of the worry just made me care for him so much more. The lengths he’d go to protect those he loves even when it negatively affected him impacted me immensely
27. What is a color or colors that you think of when you think of this character, be it their canon color(s) or not?
I’ve always associated orange with him because of his first hero suit, but now I think red suits him pretty good too!

Honestly I love her personality, that’s genuinely one of the reasons why I loved her character so much because I liked how sassy and snarky she can be at times while also having a sweet and goofy side to her. Irey’s just so endearing to me
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
I really am not a fan of her Thunderheart identity at all 😭 I tried so hard to like it but I just can’t do it, I don’t think the name suits her that well and I really don’t like the design for her suit at all

I’ll probably never get over the way Irey just took up the impulse mantle to the surprise of her family 😭 it’s the only thing I’ll give credit to flash rebirth, despite me not being a fan of that book I do like the idea of Impulse Irey and I wish they explored that idea more

Yes it is! A while ago I was thinking about Sonic x again since I LOVED that show as a kid and thought back on that specific scene between Sonic and Amy in episode 52 since it left such an impression on me that I wanted to redraw it with Irey and Michael haha 😭 and I listened to Hikaru Michi (The shining road) while drawing it because god it’s such a good song omg, it just fits the scene so well
