my wannabe maurice character analysis (originally a request by bleeding-eyelids)

maurice is for sure a very undderated character, but do we really get a lot of him? no, we dont, i mean, yes, hes there, but the reader might feel like his only point is to follow roger and jack. but i want to share my headcanons about pre-island maurice, and how it did effect him on the island. i do belive he is just scared of being left out, Maurice for sure saw what happened to Simon, a boy that never got accepted by the group, and what suffering comes with it. i dont want to make it seem like im "babying" him, but maybe hes just very shy and scared of what i mentioned before and decides to hide it with his goofiness and by picking up other's behaviors? maybe by constantly being and following others makes him feel sure he isint left out by the group? i dont think he was ever "pure evil" like jack who hides his self-doubt under face paint, aggression and his constant need of leadership, or roger who is extremely cruel without any explanations and that just proves how he represents a human who is influenced by his surroundings. he feels regret for sure, but still decides to follow the others, but why, because of fear? i do think so.

Do you have any headcanons about Piggy? His relationship with his aunt, how he lived before the island, what would he have been like after the island if he had survived?

Piggy headcanons!

his aunt and life b4 the island: i believe he doesn't have many memories of his parents, so his aunt is the only parent-figure he ever have had. their relationship is the same as a mother and a son, she sees piggy as her child and piggy sees her as his mum, even though he remembers about his parents. they have a very strong bond, and im so happy that the BBC adaptation shows a tiny bit of piggy's aunt because this is literally how i imagined her. i do have a headcanon that his aunt is his mother's sister, who never got to have her own kids or a husband. they love eachother very much, and make a small but great family. as we know his aunt has a candy shop, and thats probably the reason why is he called a piggy... but i dont think both of them realize that it causes harm to him? she always comforts him saying how his peers are just stupid and immature for bullying him, and that he shouldn't ever worry about it. well it worked for sure. another thing is his aunt herself, i do imagine her as a very extroverted, loud person that is "all over the place", i do think she would wear a lot of colors for that time, funky lipstick, a big fur coat and heels on an average day. i know it might be unrealistic for that period but who cares, lets have fun.

post-island: i feel like piggy would recover quite quickly for what happened to him, and go back to normal life. i dont want to make it seem like what he went through didint effect him at all, just i feel like he would block all memories from the island and keep going. piggy would keep in touch with ralph, and ralph only (if simon died on the island). i think they would still get along well even after all these terrors that happened there. i do think he would feel pure disgust twoards the island and other boys rather than regret or sadness. he probably still thinks about the littluns, hoping that they are getting good care.

well thats not a lot but hope i didint mischaracterize him too much and thats its pretty much only me sharing my opinions rather than hc's, if i did my apologies. as always i hope its readable ok bye

ralph (lotf) headcanons!

1. pre-island: ralph's parents are for sure very supportive of him, not forcing him to do anything he doesn't want to when it comes to hobbies. they would encourage him to try new things, he tried everything from music to art and sports, and picked up something he likes.

2. general: he would be a part of his local rugby league, promised himself that as soon as he gets older he would become the Fly-half of the team.

3. modern-setting: meditates. i dont care if its not accurate..,.

4. modern-setting: ingredient household child, his mum grows all the vegetables in their backyard, buys food off farmers market and maybe has a chicken coop? eats dates for dessert...,

5. general: lives near a river? swims in it in summer and ice-skates in winter!

6. general: i mentioned this b4 but ralph knows basic horse riding. not the best in it but he for sure can do it.

7. pre-island: begged his parents for a dog, like actually BEGGED for it every single Christmas and birthday. his parents always said that they move too much to keep a pet, awh poor ralphie. would have a dog as an adult.

Headcannons For Sam N’ Eric? Please?

Sam and Eric headcanons!

1. both are polar opposite to each other when it comes to interests and favorite subjects. eric is great at everything thats sciences and maths, sam is great at humanities subjects. the same goes with interests, sam would probably prefer something less active, while eric would do sports in free time.

2. agreed on one favorite color, food etc. for both of them, probably to make people think they are actually identical.

3. they don't know wich one of them is "quieter" or "louder". they really don't know how exactly are they separated with others.

4. no one could tell them apart on the island, the same thing happened before the island too. their father always knew wich is wich, but their mother couldn't tell them apart for at least the first year of their lives.

5. the habit of finishing each other sentences was most likely picked up from a book or a movie. started as a joke, and then turned into something they naturally just do.
