i need to spill all my hatred somewhere so bear with me for a sec. i DESPISE gwaymund and how overly accepted it has been in comparison to gwaynston. they had a grand total of one (1) scene of a tense moment together (first time in my life i had ever felt uncomfortable through a gwayne scene) and everyone was already theorizing that they had been a thing back in oldtown because of said tension and because ormund knew gwayne was gay - which, olenna and margaery tyrell also knew loras was gay, does that mean they were also sexually involved with him???? what are we talking about????

meanwhile, we had already seen gwayne's oddness surrounding criston and his relationship with alicent back in season two, and while many people clocked it, of course they came to the highly intelligent conclusion that gwayne was in love with his own sister. because time and again, the audience (even those who pride themselves in their media literacy) cannot grasp the concept of a character genuinely holding affection and respect for criston cole.

once gwaynston as a ship gained more popularity, it became a morality policing kind of situation. because criston cole is too terrible of a man for him, because criston cole was dragging him through war (gwayne is a grown man who was there out of his own will), because gwayne would rather be seen DEAD than with a man as putrid as him when he so clearly despises him. and yet, that wasn't the case at all. and yet, here you are, pairing him with the man who was ACTUALLY aggressive to him in the very first conversation between them that we ever got to see.

and of course, both criston and ormund are terrible men. but what they represent specifically within gwayne's life is drastically different. ormund is a bully and his nephew's groomer, criston is his dearest friend that he'll mourn forever.

had gwayne said the words “i hope to show it to you one day. you could make a home at oldtown” to literally anyone else, ESPECIALLY ormund, then there would be no doubt and no discussion about whether or not there was romantic intent behind it. this is genuinely an insufferable fandom space to be in.

They act like it's the normalist thing in the world but it's so disgusting. We already have one 1ncest family, that's one to many and we def don't need more.

guarma wasnt that much of a dutch in shining armour moment for javier because he sounded frustrated with what dutch kept saying about next things on the boat back and i wish they kept this dialogue in the game so that it made obvious to people of javier being more aware how much of a scam everything is. instead of getting away he latched onto him harder because thats what he's known for the past 4 years. hes mentally isolated to some degree, nobody's comforting him about how nervous he is about dutch but dutch, that's one of the only times he softens in ch6, he still doesn't have faith in his plans because he knows they should be doing things differently and he brings it up too, he's lashing out on people (john's allies) seeming all jolly and good with their escape plans when he doesn't have any. he is the one who approaches arthur, abigail (before uncle interrupted, he was going straight to her) and charles on faith conversations, but he usually sits silent with john looking at him (cue dutch faith conversation) until john begins the conversation and fails at appealing to javier. i think javier's open hatred for john's family in rdr1 and ch6 tracks to me. and that conversation about "these people ain't your family... who are they" john is aware of javier's actual faith that he masks by telling everyone to lock in on loyalty but john communicates it terribly. "He went crazy. It was like the one thing he'd ever believed in turned out to be a fraud."

“my boy. my boy, please.” as gwayne begged daeron to save himself followed by “daeron” being the first word out of gwayne’s mouth when he regained consciousness. all he wants is a gentler future for that boy who he called kind above all else. he would give his life if it meant that future could take place.

tessarion is too small to carry two riders. there’s no longer any option for gwayne himself to flee. yet he stayed in hopes that he could get daeron out, one way or another, and he spends their last private moments pleading once again for daeron to choose not to give himself to the dust.

he is not meant to outlive his boy.

Still banging my drum that Gwayne is going to get book Alicent's ending but with a twist where he does go on to have a faceless wife and children (since he's gonna be the last Hightower), but he never connects with them. Those children are not the child he wants (Daeron). His spouse is not the person he had wanted to spend the rest of his life with (Criston).

He still ends up alone and locked in the Hightower, grieving incessantly over the family he had tried to have while the family he does have carries on without him because he just cannot move on from everything he had lost. He hates the color green.

I have mixed feelings about Dreamfyres design... I mean i like the design but it feels more like Tessarion than dreamfyre

They lowkey should've used this model for Tessarion instead of re-using Arraxs design. The crown of horns and the colors on this design really gives of "the blue queen" energy
