“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten... Joel 2:25
Locusts represent wasted years, wasted resources and anything that was taken away from us. It could be due to our sins or sins of others or just a time of testing.
Israel had sinned against the Lord and their crops had been destroyed by a locust invasion (Joel 1:4), The invasion of the locusts was an illustration of God’s judgment. God always restores. He's merciful to His children. In verse 24, God promised that the threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.
When we return to Jesus He will restore us completely. He said, "I am the LORD your God and there is none else. And my people shall never again be put to shame.” (Joel 2:26-27)
Repentance results in an overflow of grace, and an abundance of blessings and total restoration.
Commit your ways to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5
