have you noticed that everything depends on various factors
like he literally could have done all that by doing some kind of modern-ish adaptation and i'd be like sure. fine. that's fun! that makes sense! but no. he insists (as he always does) on slapping 21st century pseudo-morality on historical/fictional/mythological events and trying to keep the Events Themselves (ie the plot) the same. so you end up with flimsy ham fisted original plot events smashing up against invented New Bits Of Plot grating even HARDER against modernised flat versions of ancient greek heroes and villains. like. it's not going to work. it's percy jackson but WORSE. i'd have taken percy jackson over this! i'd prefer if the gods were descending on modern fuckin america if we're gonna see yet another tale of White British-American Man Agonises Over The Horrors He Inflicts On A Monolithic East. like FUCK OFFFFFFFF go write 2oppen2heimer if you must but i don't want to see THIS SHIT.
the mark of a real actor is if they did theater before they hit it big and continue doing theater after. if they didn’t do theater before, then they are hacks and if they stop doing theater after, then they are dilettantes who lucked out. obviously this applies to all actors ever and there are no exceptions.
daniel radcliffe and barbra striesand kind of being like the jesus and satan exceptions to this
the thing I love most about how tumblr users use tags is that it’s like what if a social media website had a footnotes system

travis scott has the coolest character in nolan's odyssey and he only appears like twice 💔
One tragic aspect of the Odyssey that I've never really seen handled by any adaptation is the link between Odysseus' marriage and the Trojan War itself.
When Helen was of age to be married, all the Lords of Greece came to seek her hand. This was an issue for her stepfather the King of Sparta who could only pick one husband and then would have to deal with the far greater number of angry rejected suitors.
One suitor was Odysseus, then a younger man. He quickly ascertained that he had no chance of marrying Helen. Ithaca was too poor for him to even bring any proper gifts, let alone a dowry. But he did catch the eye of the King's niece, one Penelope.
Now Penelope was still a bit out of Odysseus' league, but not so much as Helen was. So he makes a deal with the King of Sparta. Support my bid to marry Penelope, and I'll give you a solution to this suitors problem. The King agrees, so Odysseus suggests all the suitors swear an oath to defend Helen's marriage from anyone who might strike against it. They all, including Odysseus, so swear, and Helen is married to Menelaus. The King proves as good as his word, and Penelope is wed to Odysseus.
Of course this means that Odysseus has now bound himself to fight for Helen and Menelaus. After an attempt to feign madness he is forced to fulfill his duty.
So his own plan, to marry Penelope and stop a hoard of ravenous suitors, ends with him forced to defend his own marriage from a hoard of ravenous suitors.
thankful i was not the only one who had this thought cross their mind while watching the odyssey 😭
every single episode she looks like this. I don't know what this fucking conspiracy is even about.

"you sure? new parameters for Those People just dropped. check again."
And if you truly cannot imagine this, if you're convinced that it will never happen to you, consider this one thing.
Would you want scammers to know the state of your loved one's dementia?
Oh. Shit.
