if i was born 500 years ago i would have been speculating that the two dudes who went to get firewood together were fucking
chat, how long do y’all think 500 years is. Romeo and Juliet was written in the 1500s. 500 years is not the Stone Age.
why do u think people stopped collecting firewood after caveman times
Many such cases
the writers did so fucking well at portraying and deconstructing the over abundant amount that lestat in the text romanticizes his abusers. he calls it the "seduction of magnus" multiple times throughout the vampire chronicles instead of admitting he was preyed upon. when you read the books you have to look between the lines of his flowery prose and avoidance but the show took a corny over the top music video style approach and then slammed it next to a full blown ptsd flashback to make sure the audience did not have a chance to misinterpret or mock anything and i respect them for that
Op, the tags deserve to be here too!

In 3000ad tumblr is the last website
imagine it’s January 1st, 3000. tumblr somehow lives through several dozen companies like the cockroach it is. the code is barely recognizable. the entire website, now a repository of nearly a thousand years of posts, is petabytes in servers that, due to techological advances, are still barely larger than they are today. English isn’t even recognizable and you see this, a post in language a millennium out of date referencing a show that’s been dead almost as long.
the real danger of spending too much time with friends is you stumble out of ten days of happiness and good food like oh my god THAT was real life. my job means NOTHING
yeah it makes life worthwhile. i hope you get to hang out with a bunch of people you really like for several days in a row some time soon!
I think Eddie knows damn well Buck is unwell but he's going to plan to show up anyway. Because that's what they did for Hen. "We show up anyway." I think he knows damn well that Buck is still hiding something, but pushing is just going to make Buck back off and hide more.
I think he knows that if he keeps pushing, they're just going to keep fucking arguing. He doesn't want to argue. He wants to be there. He wants Buck to trust him enough to actually come to him.
He doesn't just use his key on Buck's door. He doesn't just walk in. He knocks.
He has a key. You know he does. We know he does because we see in earlier episodes that he's there alone with Chris and Hen. But instead he waits outside of Buck's door.
He wants Buck to let him in. He doesn't want to demand it.
So he apologizes. He gives Buck his patience. Eddie Diaz isn't some blind idiot. He's smart. And he knows Buck better than anyone, other than maybe Maddie. So he's going to try this without being fucking GLOOMY.
He's gonna problem solve it for once. He's gonna try. I don't think Eddie Diaz really thinks Buck is okay. I really don't.
Sometimes the story just kind of tells itself. - Tim Minear
he only went down to the lockers because he needed his pills oh my god
The hospital smells sharp, antiseptic just like Maddie remembers. She wishes it was a hazy memory from her ER days and not fresh from how often she’s had to frequent them over the years. She’s tired from the flight, but armed with coffee and on a mission.
Her eyes scan each room she passes as she makes her way down the long hall until they inevitably fall on the placard she’s been searching for. She takes a deep breath before stepping quietly into the doorway. She pauses then with her heart caught in her throat.
Buck is there. He’s bruised and bandaged and hooked up to a banana bag, but he’s there and he’s alive. She’s hit with a number of feelings in quick succession. At first, overwhelming relief then visceral anger and finally a wave of sadness knowing her brother is in pain.
The sadness doesn’t get a chance to sink its teeth in though, because the next thing she takes stock of is Eddie. Eddie who is perched against the edge of Buck’s bed, clothes bloody and rumpled. Eddie who is gently holding Buck’s hand in his.
Eddie who she knows spent the last 24 hours moving mountains to find her brother and save him. There are tear tracks dried across the apple of his cheek as he watches Buck sleep.
There’s something so tender and achingly intimate about it. She can see the love in every line of Eddie’s body. She almost feels the need to look away like this moment isn’t hers, but with the love she can also see pain. Eddie’s knuckles are wrapped and he looks exhausted.
She had a feeling she might find him like this before she even left LA so she already has an extra coffee in hand that she picked up at the airport and a clean shirt in Eddie’s size tucked neatly in her purse. Because that’s what family does. They take care of each other.
She debates giving them another moment of peace, but before she can decide how long it’s appropriate to wait, Eddie looks up and gives her a watery smile. She smiles back and comes over to hand him his coffee, resting a hand on his shoulder and squeezing. “Thank you.”
not to be all "these two words will change your life" or whatever, but I promise you, programming in "good catch!" as your response to people correcting you/pointing out errors or whatever removes so much friction from interactions, and comes with a delightful happy meal toy of "not hating yourself so much for making mistakes"
I use "I stand corrected" a lot. The mild silliness of the outdated language makes it work for me.
I had a high school science teacher who would say "if you admit you're wrong and change your mind..." and the whole class would respond back "... you aren't wrong anymore!"
And when a kid would assert something incorrect In class, he wouldn't tell them they were wrong, he would help lead them to the right answer and then when they admitted/ accepted the new information, he'd say "now we're both right! Nice work!"
For a bunch of gifted kids whose identity and reputation often was staked on knowing more than most people, it was a great safety valve. No shame in making a mistake, because if you accept it you have learned! Now you are smarter! It always made me feel better.
