the way supposedly left-leaning people, especially from the US, talk about Argentina on the internet is actually fucking vile lololol I am sick of living in a time where there's countries comitting Actual Genocide and countries with COUGH the most appaling histories of racism slavery segregation colonialism and everything in between up until this very day which are COUGH fully aiding and taking part of Actual Genocide!! and yet somehow we are being made into some kind of example because you all chose to believe the third reich is born again in south america.

I have to sit here and watch a tweet by an american go viral after yesterday's world cup match with cabo verde saying something along the lines of "there is argentinians screaming slurs at their tvs that haven't been heard since 1953" baby that's the year YOUR country was deep in jim crow, something that didn't even ""end"" until 1964, the year in which our national team captain was a black man. I can guarantee everything being yelled at an argentinian tv during that match was directed at our own players to do better, and everyone I saw talking about cabo verde after had nothing but good things to say about them and how impressed they were with their skill and how sad they were to see them eliminated before they could do more. but sure sit at home and jerk off to fantasies of argentinians hatecriming black people while in your streets black boys are shot and killed by the police for doing nothing.

and I talk about the US because that's the most blatant example and where most of these posts are coming from, but I could say something about every western european country on the map, canada, australia, israel, japan, mexico, the list goes on. there's racist white people in argentina just like in every one of those countries and dare I say Every other country out there especially any that has any amount of white population. argentina has a history of institutional racism just like any of those countries as well. where there nazis taken in by argentina after ww2? just like in most south american countries ? or like the ones that were given jobs at NASA? we can talk about racism here and how to fix it and how we can be better but I truly don't see how what you guys are doing is productive or helps anyone at all. while global powers are out there destroying the earth and killing off entire populations and putting kids in cages.

meanwhile the rise of the far right has argentina and its resources being literally sold to the US by a fascist government not unlike the ones rising everywhere around the world, at a time where everyone will happily cheer for our destruction and colonisation and no one will fight for us because you were too busy joking about us all being of nazi german descent on twitter lol you are such brave little leftists!! nevermind that argentina has the largest jewish population in latin america and like 6th largest in the world and that makes up most of our german population, the rest having mostly settled here before nazi germany was even a thing. haven't been reblogging much deltarune stuff in the last few months. right now i have the tag filtered because i haven't finished playing chapter 5 (and i don't want spoilers) but frankly i think i'll keep it filtered indefinitely. before that, all of the non-art posts i was seeing were becoming more and more annoying, made even worse when the spanish-portuguese translation debacle happened and all of the toby fox bootlickers were having a field day.

and not having to see anything about it has been really nice, honestly. i highly recommend. haven't seen a single battat since april.

It’s extremely frustrating to me how Slay the Princess is one of the most inherently feminist games I’ve played, which is basically a litmus test to seeing if you can see this beautiful woman as a person even through the obstacles of your own personal desires and kinks. It basically asks the player to see if they are able to view this woman as human, and not just a vessel for their own fantasies.

… Y’all tell me why the entire fucking fandom failed this simple task besides, like, maybe five or so people. Like. Idk if it’s just because I’m asexual to hell and back, but it’s extremely saddening to see how little people actually view women the moment the very scent of kink comes along. We really need to have a conversation about how kink and sexuality doesn’t dehumanize or devalue women beyond the traits they envelop, and need to be coexistent with character development.

Since some of y’all have reblogged this in the tags with “but I haven’t seen that” “but I’m critical of the vessels” you’ve completely missed the point of this in its entirety and I ask you to take a moment to refresh. I am calling out blatant and rampant misogyny in the fandom (no, being a woman does not spare you from being criticized here btw), and ask that y’all actually take that into consideration.

If a queer woman is calling out misogyny in a fanbase, the response shouldn’t be “but I’m not like that!” This is like the classic “misogyny doesn’t exist because I don’t experience it” response. It should instead be assessing the fandom’s role in this, and to understand that regardless of what y’all have or haven’t seen, the fandom does innately have an undercurrent of misogyny with either ignoring the vessels entirely, using them solely as Waifu Simulator, or ignoring important aspects of things like trauma, disability etc.
