Can we talk about the meet cute though?
Regardless of your feelings on the finale, can we take a minute to appreciate the costuming genius that is Good Omens? If you ever wanted to know where the meet cute comes from, it’s a recreation of Richard Curtis’ best film Notting Hill.
They even have Julia Robert’s sunglasses and Hugh Grants open collar. But you want to see something even sweeter? Look at their clothes, it’s Aziraphale and Crowley's bookshop comfort clothing and hair, all mixed together.
Asa even has a little gold chain to mimic Crowley's metal scarf.
And I can't leave this fucking show be without talking about the lapels. If you want a refresher, here's my season 2 breakdown and why the jacket lapels are so important. LOOK EVERYONE. THEY MADE IT. Neutral lapels. In front of God and everyone. They're on their own side.
the only thing keeping me sane at the moment
I love them!!!
Also professor and astrophysicist Anthony J Crowley loved Project Hail Mary and cried his eyes out 😌
Your love for him was the messiest, silliest, most predictable thing in the universe. And it always made me smile.
The silliest thing I find about this whole "they only got 30 years together in the end with no memories of their shared history so what was the point" is that EVERYONE THINKS THEY ONLY MET EACH OTHER IN THIS ONE SINGULAR LIFETIME REALITY instead of my immediate thought that as its architects, Aziraphale and Crowley were wound so deep into the fabric of the new universe that there is a version of them finding each other and falling in love every single generation for billions and billions of years??????
A Roman version and a French Revolution version and a WWII version and ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND---
For goodness sake the song that plays over this version of them finding and falling in love is "Time After Time"! THE IMPLICATION IS THAT THEY WILL ALWAYS FIND EACH OTHER!!!!!! ***ALWAYS*** IN EVERY LIFETIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'll wait for you
well apparently everyone else hates it. i do not. i love it. i love what they did with it, i love that crowley got to choose, i love that he chose humanity, that he did not choose to run away.
because THAT is who he is. he loves his stars and creations, he loves humanity, he loves the messiness, the good and the bad, the ugly and the beautiful, he loves watching them. he showed jesus all the kingdoms of the world to share that love with someone who he knows already felt it.
in the end, they made that choice together. it's a choice they have made before, over and over, saving humanity over themselves. no god, no angels, no demons, no thousands of years of suffering for all the millions of eternal beings.
personally, i choose to believe that god's last gift to them was integrating them into the fabric of the new universe, so they will find each other in every lifetime. but without anyone watching, without any plan behind it, without senseless suffering, without creating stars just to destroy them.
just the two of them, together, always.
so unashamedly whipped for this tweet
