Louis,
In 2012, you tweeted that you couldnāt believe you were even saying āMSG.ā
Back then, it was One Directionās Madison Square Garden debut. It was the five of you standing inside something bigger than any of you could possibly understand yet. You were kids, still growing into your own voice while the whole world was deciding what it wanted you to be before youād had a proper chance to decide for yourself.
And now itās 2026.
Tonight, itās your Madison Square Garden debut.
Your name. Your voice. Your band. Your songs. Your fans. Your fight.
I donāt know if there are words big enough for what that means, but I hope you feel it. I hope you really let yourself feel it. Not just as another show, not just as another room to win over, not just as another thing to prove. But as the kind of moment that reaches backwards and touches every version of you who had to keep going.
The boy with no solos.
The boy who learned to write because he had something to prove.
The man who kept choosing his fans even when the industry didnāt choose him loudly enough.
The man who rebuilt, and rebuilt, and rebuilt.
The man who turned survival into songs people could scream back at him.
There are people who have been here long enough to remember what it felt like when MSG was a miracle sentence. We remember the old tweets. The old interviews. The way you hid behind jokes. The way you carried more than people gave you credit for. The way you always tried to make everything about the fans because it was safer, because it was generous, because it was you.
But tonight, I hope you know weāre not just proud because you sold out the room.
Weāre proud because you got here as yourself.
Not untouched. Not unhurt. Not without compromise. Not without having to fight through things most people will never understand. But still yourself. Still funny. Still stubborn. Still sharp. Still sentimental. Still looking at a crowd like you canāt believe they showed up for you, even though they always will.
And if you sing Side By Side tonight, I hope you hear us sing it back with all the weight it deserves.
For the fans, yes.
For the years, yes.
For everyone who grew up with you, yes.
For every quiet loyalty, every unseen sacrifice.
There since you were eighteen.
Still here.
Still growing up side by side.
Tonight shouldnāt have to be about proving anything to anyone. Youāve already proved it. You proved it in the writing. In the touring. In the rooms that got bigger and louder. In the people who stayed. In the fact that Madison Square Garden gets to hear your songs tonight and know exactly who carried them there.
So I hope you cry if you need to.
I hope you laugh when you try not to.
I hope you look out at that room and let it hit you: this didnāt happen by accident. You built this. You earned this. You made it here.
And we are so, so proud of you.
Have your proper moment.
You deserve every second of it.
Side by side, always.
I watched Iron Lung again tonight in the comfort of my home and my dog must've been watching with me cause as soon as bad things started happening to Simon she started crying. In the scene where he ultimately dies she could not stop crying at me. I am now watching him play the Henry Stickman collection so she can see that A.) He's not dead and B.) He's not in distress. Occasionally he'll whine or hum in discontent about something and my dog will look at me and whine to try and get me to fix whatever is distressing Markiplier.

Choices have been made. At this point, anyone who doesnāt want to see it is only doing so because it suits them. Shippers⦠arse-kissers with their performative feminism and superiority complex with zero critical thinking skills or media literacy and just enough gullibility to believe any crap from tabloids. What a lovely combination, isnāt it? Watch them turn their backs on her as soon as this farce is over.
in case you haven't heard, parts of venezuela were recently hit by a series of earthquakes, affecting communities across the country.
as venezuela is my home country, all of this hits especially close to home. thankfully, my family and loved ones are safe since they were in cities not as severely affected. however, many others have not been as fortunate and are now facing the aftermath of these events.
years of political and economic instability have left many communities with limited resources and infrastructure, making it even more difficult to respond to emergencies like this. there are reports of people who remain missing, and many families are still waiting for news about their loved ones. rescue efforts have been made even more difficult by shortages of equipment, ambulances, and other emergency resources needed to respond to a disaster of this scale.
if you're able to, please consider sharing information, supporting verified relief efforts, or simply helping spread awareness about what is happening.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me! My insurance finally approved my gastric sleeve and the procedure! I am trying to schedule now for hopefully end of summer!
I have this one song I've been writing since I was 15 years old and it's literally perfect in every way and I am certain if I ever actually made it and sold it to someone, it would go superbly viral, but I will never physically create it and that's that on executive dysfunction.

I love how whenever ATLA recognizes Sokka is smart enough to solve a problem but itād be too fast they just stick him in some kind of situation. Like he COULDāVE stopped jet from drowning a town so they tied him up and dumped him in a forest. He COULDāVE figured out what that spirits deal was so they lost him in the spirit world for 24 hours.
One time they just stuck him in a hole in the ground for a whole episode.
This is how writers should deal with characters who are too smart for the arc instead of making them suddenly dumber for no apparent reason.
If you frequently find yourself in random situations while your friends happen to be experiencing problems maybe you, too, are too smart for the narrative.
My favorite is that Sokka absolutely would've just navigated them out of the desert, so they had to put him on acid the entire time.
every year iām delighted by the first entry of dracula ending with YOUR FRIEND DRACULA
no he is not. āDraculaā by Bram Stoker is my friend. Count Dracula who has tried to eat my favorite real estate lawyer four years in a row is most certainly not.
