The fun thing about being the Jack Sparrow to a couple's Will & Elizabeth* is that they just bring you along to their events as a matter of course. "We're going to the zoo on Saturday. Don't worry about it, I bought you a ticket."
*This dynamic does come with the responsibility of being fun to hang out with and wearing a cool outfit.
i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
Mechanisms of assimilation push GNC folk into the gender binary by making basic necessities and goods available only to persons who assimilate to some binary gender. Whereas mechanisms of assignment push us into some assigned place in the gender binaryâusually the gender associated with oneâs presumed birth assignmentâmechanisms of assimilation push us to be somewhere, anywhere in the gender binary. Mechanisms of assignment enforce the placelessness of GNC folk by assigning individual people into binary gender roles; mechanisms of assimilation enforce the same by pushing GNC folk to assimilate into physical, institutional, legal, and social spaces that allow only for binary gender roles. Mechanisms of assignment push triangular (oval, rectangular, trapezoidal, etc.) blocks into round holes or square holes. Mechanisms of assimilation produce lids (for buckets of blocks) that have only round and square holes. Readers are likely aware that the organization of physical, institutional, legal, and social space is such that there is often no place for GNC folk [as] GNC. Gender segregated bathrooms, schools, dormitories, sports, prisons, shelters, and recovery centers are common. They organize physical, institutional, legal, and social space in ways that make appropriate places for people who are men (and not women) and appropriate places for people who are women (and not men). If you are both or neither, then patriarchal gender segregation organizes the world such that there is no place for you. If you want to use the bathroom, live in a dormitory, play a sport, or access a shelter for homelessness, addiction, or to escape abuse, then you will often have to assimilate into the gender binary; this means you must stop being both/neither, conceal your gender non-conformity, or let others overlook it. If you are incarcerated or sent to a gender segregated school, shelter, or care facility, you will be presumed to be (only) a man or (only) a woman. Gender segregated spaces serve to enforce the nonexistence of GNC folk and push us into the gender binary.

reblogging a post that says âdo it scaredâ vs actually doing it scared
The trope where a character overhears something out of context and assumes the worst is usually annoying and bad but I really think it works well in Shrek
We, the audience, know that Fiona is talking about herself but, regardless, sheâs calling herself these terrible things because she is an ogre. If Fiona is these things because she is is an ogre what does that make Shrek?
If Fiona says no one could love her because she is an ogre, she is saying that Shrek is also unloveable whether she wants to or not.
Imo the scene is a really good portrayal of how when you talk poorly of yourself or others for having a trait, youâre also talking about every other person who shares that trait; even if you love them or think what youâre saying doesnât apply to them.
Not going to lie, I saw the word âShrekâ and never expected this to be a deep post.
On the being deep about Shrek website?
It's got layers.
Man I miss free the nipple. Its getting warmer and we donât even have free the nipple anymore
feminism has backslid so hard in recent years people don't even know what free the nipple means anymore
To clarify for those who don't know, "free the nipple" isn't about going braless, it's about going topless
No shirt, no bra, completely bare torso, just like cis men are allowed to
It's about desexualizing breasts and "female presenting nipples" and not being criminalized for our bodies if we want to go topless because it's a million damn degrees out. This was a popular growing movement that was still widely known a decade ago!
And the fact that not wearing a bra is so discouraged and stigmatized that people think the movement was about being able to go braless under your shirt in public rather than about being able to not wear a shirt at all says a lot about how far we've backslid in the past decade
joe biden should do another stimulus check where the ira sends me a lox bagel. with cream cheese please

âPeople should pass a test before being allowed to have kids.â âIsnât it scary how white people have this inborn capacity for evil?â âIâll never pass because males and females have different skull shapes.â âAutistic people have a stronger sense of justice than anyone else.â âI donât want AMABs in my space because theyâre dangerous.â âYou shouldnât have access to hormones if you dress like THAT.â âAnyone who does something that awful isnât human.â âSome people really shouldnât be allowed to vote.â
This is eugenics. This is phrenology. THIS IS NAZI SHIT, YOU ARE A LEFTIST BUYING INTO NAZI SHIT. YOU ARE NOT IMMUNE TO NAZI SHIT.

why are people reblogging this again
this post is like 11 years old
WHY AREYALL DOING THIS
Weâre all having a midlife crisis leave us be
one time I went over to a friend's house and their housemate was making paper in the living room, and we saw this big tub full of water they were using to dissolve old scrap paper into a slurry, and everyone was immediately like "oh, you need scrap paper?" and started turning out their jacket pockets and producing expired coupons and bus tickets and crumpled receipts and old shopping lists and whatever else they'd been carrying round with them for no good reason, and passing it all to the paper-making housemate to make sure it was suitable before it got torn up and dropped into the tub, while people took turns stirring the slurry with a big wooden stick. it was strangely ritualistic, like presenting an offering to some kind of temple elder for inspection before placing it in a watery shrine to be devoured and reformed. pulp for the pulp god.
Also whenever people go "wow a lot of people are chronically ill now" and then conclude "IT MUST BE THE EVIL POISON OF AMERICAN FOOD AND VACCINES" instead of the following
1: diagnosis has gotten better. Screening for diseases has gotten better -> it isnt "more" cases really just more diagnosed people.
2: the big one. I wonder if there was a pandemic which resulted in a mass disabling event that affects multiple organ systems esp with repeat infection called covid19 these people still dont take seriously that may be affecting people's current health and might do so 10 years later since we know little abot long term effects. Whose to say though /s.
