For reference, this is me, BTW! I was 15 when I started Dashcon and 17 when it actually happens, and now study tourism’s impact on the critically endangered pygmy raccoon. I’ve been researching them before now, but due to Mexico’s laws, I’ve only been allowed to do data collection from abroad (so think surveys to tourists and video analysis on social media.) But now I’m authorized for in situ research!! Yippee! I even got a grant through my university as well to fund the whole project 🥺

it's funny because my job involves a lot of using a box cutter, so you'd think that's the thing I'd accidentally hurt myself with the most

but nooo no no no. the box cutter is my colleague, my ally, my friend. you know what is truly bloodthirsty in a print & signage shop? literally Anything Else that's able to cut but not supposed to. cardboard, sheets of plastic, the humble paper of course, corrugated polypropylene, aluminum composite sheets - i nicked myself on a sheet of magnetic material today?? it bled. kinda profusely.

Imagine you’re driving, and you hit and kill a pedestrian, and it’s very obviously not your fault, the pedestrian bolted in front of your car, you braked as hard as you could, if you had swerved you would have gotten t-boned by another car, this could have happened to any driver. a police sees this, and the police understands you did the best you could in the situation. But then when your car gets the xp from the pedestrian, it levels up, and the cop is like, why did your car have enough xp that it leveled up from one pedestrian? And that starts an investigation that reveals that you hit 9 pedestrians before, and those were all on purpose.
