Rebekah Jones also made inflammatory accusations regarding the DoJ's sex-trafficking investigation into the Republican.
Rebekah Jones, a Democrat who will face off against Matt Gaetz in November’s midterms, has heavily criticized the GOP Florida congressman after a picture of her autistic 12-year-old online was posted onto his Facebook page to mock her campaign.
Matt Gaetz is literally a Nazi pedophile so him mocking a child with Autism isn’t really at all surprising but it is yet another example of how he’s a disgusting creature utterly unfit to hold any form of job much less one in politics

On Monday night in South London, armed police trapped a black man named Chris Kaba inside a car and executed him through the windshield. He was 24 years old. Today, a protest march demanding justice for his murder was broadcast on Sky News, who reframed it as a moving tribute to the queen by thousands of grieving subjects.
Some of the lowest, most despicable shit I've ever seen from the British media and believe me when I say I've some depraved stuff in the past.
Chris Kaba's family welcomes the Met firearms officer's suspension but says there was "no urgency".
Sarah-Jane Mee mistook a march at Trafalgar Square for Chris Kaba, who was shot by a Met officer
START OF QUOTE: "Sarah-Jane Mee, who was anchoring the station’s coverage, said: “Look at that, look at the crowds of people winding their way down … they’ll be working their way up the Mall, and what a walk there is.
“There are thousands of people lining that route, it really is an incredible sight. They’ll work their way up the Mall, very slowly, meeting new friends along the way, talking about their journey here, their memories of the Queen, their good wishes for the new King.”
Instead the protest was for Kaba. Thousands of people, including Labour politicians Diane Abbott and Bell Ribeiro-Addy and musician Stormzy, took part, with some holding placards saying “Justice for Chris Kaba” and “Black Lives Matter”, that could be seen on the Sky footage. Other protests have taken place in the days after Kaba was killed, including outside Brixton police station.
A Sky News spokesperson apologized, as did Mee. She tweeted: “I made a mistake on air. I wrongly identified crowds in Trafalgar Sq as some of the 1000s heading to Palace when at that moment it was people turning out for Chris Kaba." END OF QUOTE

Just some links because I did not hear ANYTHING about this. I included the Sky News Apologises even though it's really not excusable (it fucking says in the apology article that you CAN SEE THE SIGNS ON THE FOOTAGE - either she wasn't paying attention (which I doubt or she's actually terrible at her job..) but I thought it important to some degree. Fucking horrible...
I want to make a post about the situation in Sweden so that people know what's going on. I know everyone is talking about the queen dying and how that will destroy the UK financially and the like, and it was 9/11, but.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/sep/11/swedish-election-exit-polls-far-right
The election here was yesterday and the preliminary results indicate that our second biggest party, SverigeDemokraterna, one rooted in nazism and fascism, will have a lot of influence over the country the next 4 years. They're one of Europe's biggest extreme right parties and the biggest in the world to be nazis through and through.
Things are going to be hell for racial minorities, immigrants, refugees, disabled folks, Muslims, Jews, the LGBTQ+ (especially trans), women and people/families with low income.
I'm not going to lie, I'm terrified. I'm exhausted. I've stayed up well past midnight on weekdays trying to get people to vote left and to make as much noise and make it known what the conservatives are doing to us and to get more engaged politically.
But I'm working against the grain here, what with our newstations and general media gave SverigeDemokraterna so much attention (positive and negative). Plus, the other traditionally conservative parties also rallied HARD for them, to the point that they got bigger than them.
This won't mean I'll give up and cower, I can't afford that. But it means that things are terrifying for those of us who are especially racial minorities. Because the nazis will get inspired by the results to get more active out there and cause so much damage.
Sweden has excellent PR. You wouldn't know these things because they make sure to seem like a small and peaceful country that is the posterchild for equality. But it's far from it. And It's only going downhill from here. I could list all of the truly heinous things that have been going on here the past few years but we would be here forever.
What I want to say though, is that Sweden has a truly revolting racism problem. Maybe not to the extent of the US, but it's not good. We were the forefathers of race biology after all. And that has ultimately paved the road for this election result.
If you see this, please reblog and share. More people deserve to know the truth about the state of this country.
"how do i know a woman wants me to talk to her in the grocery store" are you an elderly woman with valuable information about cooking, cleaning, or saving money? if you answered no, then women do not want to talk to you in the grocery store.

[“In alarmingly titled studies such as Expensive Children in Poor Families: The Intersection of Childhood Disabilities and Welfare, sociologists lay out the costs of disabled children for poor women in our privatized culture of care: “Between 20 and 25 percent of the families [on welfare] had a disabled or ill mother or child, 10 to 12 percent had a disabled child, and 3 to 5 percent cared for children with severe limitations.” According to this study, work was directly affected by a child’s disability: “Families with disabled children also incurred indirect costs in the form of forgone earnings. Mothers with more than one moderately disabled child or with at least one severely disabled child were 20 to 30 percent less likely to have worked in the previous month than mothers with healthier children.” The study notes how racialized this all is: the vast majority—over 90 percent—of the study’s subjects were BIPOC. But rather than indict the system that leads to these inequities, the disabled children are blamed, accused of being expensive.
It’s also remarkable that the gendering of the caregiver as a woman—”mothers”—is assumed here. Nowhere does the study ask why mothers are expected to supply these care needs—why the state and local government do not provide this care or why fathers or other kin are not expected to be primary caretakers of their high-needs disabled children. Privatization and feminization are assumed. The mother is tasked with putting her child’s care in competition with her ability to make a living. Her experience of caregiving is figured only as a loss: of income, of work. That caregiving a loved one could be more rewarding than repetitive minimum-wage labor is not questioned. Of course the public costs of this system are the point of the study, but the gendered, private informal care system is never interrogated. Disability is the problem here!
The family—also known as the mother—is expected to provide care for disabled people at all stages of the life cycle. The blunt, gendered facts are startling: Women make up 75 percent of all family caregivers. For the working poor, this returns mothers to the public welfare systems that have been systematically defunded since the 1980s—and to low-paying care work that extracts care for others while rendering them unable to care for their own families. Grace Chang analyzes the consequences of this extractive, racist neoliberal system for the immigrant women who provide this care. “Ironically,” she notes, “these women’s labor—caring for the young, elderly, and the disabled—makes possible the maintenance and reproduction of the American labor force at virtually no cost to the U.S. government. At the same time, this labor is extracted in such a way as to make immigrant women’s sustenance of their own families nearly impossible.”It is horrifically ironic that care workers are rendered unable to care for their own families in this exploitative system.”]

OH FUCK!!!
Those that don't know: Bannon was chief strategist for trump, and the former chair of Breitbart News. He was one of the largest vectors for radicalization and conspiracy thought in America in the last 30 years.
Now that the Parasite in chief has had her platinum Jubilee, i thought id share some fun facts about the monarchy in the UK and the Queen in particular. All of this information is easily found online.
-The Queen negotiated clauses in the equality and Diversity Act so she wouldn't have to hire 'coloured or foreign' staff in the palace. that clause is still there today.
-The Queen tried to use The State Poverty Fund to heat Buckingham Palace even with her own personal fortune.
-She lobbied the Scottish Parliament 67 times to ensure that new wildlife protections laws woudn't apply to her estates there.
-The main throne she sits on is worth an estimated £40,000,000,000. Her jewellery Collection worth circa £5,000,000,000 made with 28, 578 diamonds and gemstones, almost all of which were stolen from countries Britain invaded and enslaved...sorry colonised. She also banned the Police from searching her estates for stolen artifacts.
-Her crown estate is one of the largest property owners in the country. It has over 26 Royal residencies, inc 9 palaces that remain mostly empty and property portfolio that generates £300 million per year. Yet she had a family thrown out during the covid eviction ban for a £32 unpaid bill.
Her son is a nonce ( pedophile) that she protected through a £12 million payout.
-The 'free' book that was sent to every school to tell kids how wonderful the queen is cost the taxpayer £12 million.
-She has £420 million personal wealth, which doesn't include that for-mentioned crown estate or her antique furniture or her jewellery collection or all the stolen gold.
-She and her family cost the tax payer £345 million per year in security and other protections.
-The jubilee cost the tax payer £28 million , set aside by the chancellor for the purpose of funding it. Whilst there are currently 14.5 million people living in poverty here in the UK.
Celebrating the incredibly rich, racist and privileged whilst millions of our own citizens are suffering is disgusting.
Some sources:
- Buckingham Palace banned ethnic minorities from office roles, papers reveal (2021) (the article says that there is no longer a ban as of the 1990s, however the clause is still there to allow a ban.)
- Queen asked for poverty grant to heat palaces (2010)
- Revealed: Queen vetted 67 laws before Scottish parliament could pass them (2021) (It's unknown if any of the laws were amended due to her lobbying, but the lawmakers were required to get her approval.)
- Revealed: police barred from searching Queen's estates for looted artefacts (2021)
- Hampton Court mews row: Couple face eviction 'over £32 bill' (2020) (The tenant was using a communal socket to power his electric car.)
- Prince Andrew settles US civil sex assault case with Virginia Giuffre (2022) Prince Andrew pays settlement ending sex assault case (2022) (Guiffre was 17 at the time of the assault. The settlement was initially estimated at 12-14 million, in which case he probably couldn't have afforded it (without the Queen's help?), but some reports say that it was as little as 3 million by the end. IDK I couldn't find anything firm from a reputable source.)
- Queen’s jubilee book for schools to cost £12m (2021)
She picked the one person on par with Priti Patel in evilness.
You know, the one who echoed antisemitic conspiracy theory pish on national TV.
Great that the person who now controls the police and security services has views on ‘Cultural Marxism’.
The UK shouldn’t exist.
Also this is what launched her failed leadership bid.
Another fascist as Home Secretary.
This is true btw.

Loss will contribute a minimum rise of 27cm regardless of what climate action is taken, scientists discover
“It is a very conservative rock-bottom minimum,” said Prof Jason Box from the National Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (Geus), who led the research. “Realistically, we will see this figure more than double within this century.”
The 27cm estimate is a minimum because it only accounts for global heating so far and because some ways in which glacier ice is lost at the margins of the ice sheet are not included.
[…] Mountain glaciers in the Himalayas and the Alps are already on course to lose a third and half of their ice respectively, while the west Antarctic ice sheet is also thought by some scientists to be past the point at which major losses are inevitable. Warming oceans also expand, adding to sea-level rise.
(They do note that it could be staggeringly worse, the better to emphasize that it will be if dramatic climate action isn’t taken now. But given how unlikely that is, I’m left wondering whether my island city will outlive me.)
A third of Pakistan is under water. A third of the entire country. Absolutely mad.
9.5 million houses have been destroyed
Pakistan is racing to prevent further loss of life as it reels from one of its worst climate disasters with floodwater threatening to cover
Idk where you're getting those numbers. It's predicted that up to a one quarter to a third of the country could be underwater by the end of monsoon season.
Nearly 500k homes have been destroyed and as of this article published this morning, August 29th, more than 3.1 million have been displaced.
Here are some aid organizations you can donate to (don't worry, I looked into them and checked Charity Navigator and stuff). You can also call on your country's government to provide aid and if you live in a country participating in the IMF you can urge them to send IMF aid too https://www.imf.org/en/Countries
I was really impressed by the accuracy of some of the [Exxon] report's predictions about fossil fuel consumption. Then I realized, oh, right, of course.

here is the graph you requested
and how does CO2 relate to temp...? you might be correct about this, but you should explain better
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenhouse_effect
Greenhouse effect - Wikipedia
if you're not gonna actually explain, you should just shut up. i will purposely believe that we're in the coldest period in the history of our planet
the coldest period might be one of the ice ages, when Europe and North America were covered by glaciers and the carbon dioxide level was less than half of today, the warmest period might have been long ago in the Cambrian, when the carbon dioxide level was ten times higher than today.
carbon dioxide (and methane, and even water vapour) in the atmosphere acts like a blanket, keeping the heat in so it isn’t radiated out into space.
without it, we would freeze! with too much of it, we cook.
people will tip a random white stranger enough money on tumblr dot gov do edu that they can buy a new video game (stray), they’ll crowdfund white people’s nintendo switches and animal crossing games, they’ll literally pay for scams bc those ppl are asking for money for their pets but god forbid a poc asks for a cent or we’re just lazy and need to find a job and using our money irresponsibly and so on and so forth. the amount of vitriol y’all have for poor poc that you deem us not worthwhile enough to donate to because it isn’t as feel-good as a cutesy video game or pet speaks volumes about where your priorities lie.
this isn’t even mentioning the fact that you’ll blaze anything before actually donating to a poc in need, or y’all will spite donate to ao3 of all places while calling us slurs and telling us we’re being overly sensitive and leeching resources. at some point you can just say you hate poor people, especially poor people of color, and go. no need to dress it up in progressive language or making excuses about letting others have fun.
Another big reason that streaming-only media is awful?
I'm doing research for a video essay about the Hays Code. I can get a copy of The Celluloid Closet at my library. Know what I can't get? A pair of queer docs that released as AppleTV and Netflix exclusives.
I'm LIVID that I'm getting paywalled on multiple things that would be extremely helpful to my research and writing. I'm trying SO HARD to go through libraries and legal sources, but streaming-only documentaries are making it impossible. Physical copies need to be made.
I spend a lot of time thinking about how much recent queer media has been streaming-only, with no DVD releases. What if it all disappeared tomorrow because no physical copies were ever produced? What if the streaming companies edit it, censor it, quietly get rid of it?
We know FOR A FACT that Disney+ has been censoring and editing things for the streaming platform. People noticed because they had copies of the originals to compare it to. Sure, changing the dryer to a pizza box in Lilo & Stitch may seem like a harmless change, but think. THINK.
How many blink-and-you-miss-it "first gay characters" has Disney released? How many could be erased just as easily as the dryer from Lilo & Stitch? Streaming-only media is easy to censor. To take away completely. This is why I hoard queer media. What if it disappears one day?
In short: Download your favorite gay cartoons today. That way they will always exist on your hard drive, even if the streaming companies try to bury them.
...and less than 48 hours after I posted this, look what's happening:
Warner Bros. Discovery leader David Zaslav takes no prisoners, but he will take tax breaks.
The phrase, "everyone except workers" reminds me of that one poll that said AOC was unpopular with "everyone except women, poc, young people, and LGBTQ people." Like such a circuitous to say they think older cishet white men are the default everyone, with all else being an abberation.
Like "everyone except workers" is just bosses, executives, and investors. Aka people that profit off of work without actually doing it, which is a far smaller group than workers are.
"The people that don't actually do the work don't like this thing that makes the lives of the people that actually do the work better," is probably a less appealing headline to the readers of Fortune Magazine.
Or, it could be that the headline was tongue and cheek, and that the literal subheading acknowledges that the CEO's ragging on remote work are living back in 2019.
it could also be that if you read the article instead of just making the most uncharitable assumption about the headline, you'd find that the article was making your same point.
CEOs want to turn back the clock. Workers aren’t on board As with previous attempts, comments like those from Shake Shack and Clorox are unlikely to sway happy remote workers. The number of employees interested in working fully in-person has reached an all-time low, per Slack’s latest Future Forum Pulse survey. Of over 10,000 global knowledge workers polled, only about one in five was willing to head back in.
like jesus this is one of the most blatantly bad faith 'only read the title' takes I've seen in a while
