Okay, you know what? This is getting ridiculous, if you know what I mean....
Iâm dedicating this very quick very messy sequel to The Giant Stink-Lotus (featuring steambaby because I can and will đ) to: @antarcticasx @babytreehugger @honeymilkchai @heavensweetheart and @firelxdykatara. Iâm sending my love to all poc, especially the minors of the zutara fandom â everyone who has been attacked, threatened and hurt by toxic antis in their inboxes, over something as simple as a ship.
The Return of the Caribou-Swan
(ID: A black-and-white, messily sketched lineart of a summer tundra landscape, featuring Zuko, Izumi and Katara. The southern summer sun shines over distant hills and the vast treeless plains of the tundra, just north of the Souther Water Tribeâs summer camp. Two lakes are visible, one distant and one relatively near. A few migrant caribou-swans are visible (for now!): five on the lakes and three in the air (body of swan+head of caribou). In the foreground, standing/sitting on a ridge overlooking the whole scene, are Zuko, Katara and their daughter Izumi between them.
Zuko sits on the left. His hair has been pulled into a wolftail with a few beads threaded near his scar. He is in a fluffy parka, hood down, with the sun embroidered onto the back. His headâs angled so that he can get a better view from his unscarred eye. His right arm curls around Izumi protectively, keeping her from running too close to the edge. She appears to be 7-8 years old, and is standing on her fatherâs right side, excitedly pointing towards the caribou-swans. She has her hair in twin braids and is wearing a parka with swirls and fire embroidery. Katara stands on her daughterâs right side, keeping her left hand on Izumiâs shoulder. Kataraâs hair flows loose in a brisk wind, with her traditional loopies and half-bun. She wears a long parka embroidered with waves and jagged ice motifs, and carries a jawbone spear in her right hand. Her waterskin, as usual, is strapped onto her back. End ID)
Cultures can be shared and mingled by willing participants! Being in a loving, consensual interracial relationship where there is mutual communication, recognition of each other as equal, recognition of all facets dark or light, where there are independent but also complementary partners is ... not inherently evil, racist or unhealthy! @poczutara
You know whatâs racist and disgusting, though? Dropping piles of targeted harassment in the inboxes of women of colour...girls of colour. Targeting minors to achieve so-called woke points. Itâs racism, itâs harassment, and the whole fandom â no matter which ship you ship â should stand against this behaviour.
