YOU get some dignity and YOU get some dignity

Finland explained himself in the comic, but in 2010 Denmark started giving heroine to drug addicts for free and it was such a huge success that it has continued until today. Because of this Norway has started experimenting with it too. It’s a lot cheaper for society because the addicts commit less crime, they don’t have to spend money on drugs so instead they spend it on things that are more healthy for them so they don’t end up on the hospital as often, they have to take the drugs in special clinics so there’s no chance of them taking an overdose or using dirty needles and spreading diseases among each other, there’s always staff ready to help them if they want to get off the drugs, and it’s a lot more effective way to help more people because addicts come into contact with professionals who want to help them before they even think about getting help themselves. Nobody wants to be homeless or an addict. Though they often end up getting involved in criminality because of their situation, the act of being homeless or an addict is not a crime in itself and the people deserve help like anyone else.

It also gets money out of mafia/crime communities. Really hard to base your business on selling drugs people can get safer for free. Really hard to spend that drug money on weapons or other dangers if you never made it in the first place.

Why do we have to offer up examples of our oppression?

Why are you, oppressing us when you yourself were and still are oppressed? You know who you are. You refuse to let us into your elite community simply because you don’t understand us. Isn’t your community supposed to be inclusive of those who are different? You’ve become so elitist in your thinking that only the ‘big four’ are allowed in. And sometimes the last two are optional. When you were excluded from the majority, you founded your group, for other minorites. We are minorities too.

You say that we aren’t really oppressed, so therefore we can’t be in your elite community. You change the rules so that we can’t enter. Sound familiar? It should. That’s some grade-A hypocrisy there, buddy.

And to those of you in the elitist community who see whats wrong and don’t do a thing, you are bystanders. If you don’t actively support us, a fellow minority, you are bigoted in your beliefs against us. ‘Oh, well, I just really don’t understand it, so I can’t support it.’ Are you kidding me? You’re trying to tell me that you understand everyone else in your community, and that’s the basis for support? Excuse me? Is this some kind of joke?

And because you and your elitist group continue to exclude us, the minority within a minority, you stifle our speech. You stifle our words, claim that we aren’t oppressed (also with any sum of research, you’d see that we are oppressed too, so shut up). You invalidate us, you exclude us from the very group you label as “inclusive”. You fight for inclusivity yet you actively exclude us. You want understanding, yet you fail to even try to understand. You are hypocrites of the finest level.

Where we fight for you, you fight against us. Why? Why must you act this way? Just because we defy more societal norms than you do? Why do you pretend to take the moral high ground, yet climb on our bodies? We amplify your voices, we support you, we add to the discussion. We are valuable members people. We matter too.

Yet you exclude us. You know exactly who you are. You know what you’re doing. You want an excuse to feel like the superior for once. Well, I hate to break it to you, hypocritical ass, but you’re a horrible person.

Why do we have to offer up examples of our oppression? It won’t be obvious to you because you ignore it. But do some basic fucking research, maybe? Maybe act on that inclusivity that you preach and yearn for?

If you feel that I’m speaking about you, think on that. You might actually be wrong for once. I hope you guys can grow.

honestly why use the acronym lgbtq at all?? why not grsm/gsrm? or like,,, just queer?

lgbtq is often shortened to lgbt which excludes SO MANY people. literally millions (est. 78 million of pop is asexual, so at the least millions, if not hundreds of millions). those that fall into the categories of the ‘big four’ are often happy enough to use only those four letters in their titles because they know the backlash will be minimal because either:

-they dont care abt minorities within the queer minority

-they don’t even recognize what’s wrong with the term

-they know the minority wont speak up/ isnt big enough to speak up

honestly how cruel and hateful? if you dont see whats wrong with it, go away.

also lgbt is kinda sexist, and yeah i get that glbt is also used too, but then what about bi and trans people??? you’re literally listing a hierarchy of importance.

btw when i use the term queer, i refer to those that are in gender, sexual or romantic minorities, which is basically the grsm/gsrm acronym anyways, but that’s a lesser know term so

Use Latine Instead of LatinX

Let’s get some things laid out.

LatinX is unusable in spanish. Literally. Also when you try to spread it to words, like amigxs. How do you say that. How.

LatinX is reverse appropriation. It’s explained best in this article here: http://www.latina.com/lifestyle/our-issues/latinoa-latinx-latine-solving-spanish-gender-problem?page=0%2C1

LatinX is inherently anglicized and americanized in nature. It’s literally unusable in Spanish!!!! The term is literally a reapplication of the gender-neutral(gn) title Mx. (in reference to the gendered Ms., Mr., Mrs., etc.). That works just fine in English, but not for Spanish. It’s unnatural and I’ve never liked it.

X is rarely used in Spanish btw. It’s mainly used in the form of indigenous words like ‘Xochitla’ and ‘Xochitlicacan’.

Let’s use Latine instead. The ‘e’ is already used as a gender-neutral vowel in spanish for words like ‘estudiante’(student). There’s also the gn pronoun ‘elle’ in Spanish that differs from ‘ella’ and ‘ellos’.

It’s actually usable in Spanish! For example, instead of the unpronouncable ‘amigxs’, we can say ‘amigues’. Easy to start using. Easy to pronounce. Overall just better.

LatinX may work for the American latines, but what about the latinoamericanos who literally live in spanish speaking countries? Latinx is usable in English, but latines don’t all speak English, and they most certainly don’t all live in an English-speaking country. And maybe, just maybe, they want something that’s made with their best interest in mind. And not these trophy points of inclusivity that seem to be going around.

BTWL I’m a Latine/a. So don’t say I can’t talk about this. I’m exactly who should be talking about this.

i’m teaching a tiny little girl to say “nonbinary” and she keeps saying “no banana” and once she said “none bananananary” and honestly? close enough, she’s adorable and her parents are super chill with me and they already taught her to say genderfluid (to her it’s genner-flooood) and transgender (trains genner) and a bunch of sexualities so now i’m adding “none bananananary” to the mix
