One thing that witch hat kitchen really solidified for me that I love is how much the kids resemble their dads- I mean. Teachers.
And it's not a "they raised the kids so they got it from them" because the girls must have spent probably around the first 10-12 years of their lives not as Qifrey's apprentices, and yet they are so similar.
Qifrey hates water, the sea and all it brings (though he loves fish) and Coco is so unfamiliar with the sea that she is instinctively scared and/or disgusted by seafood. Yet they both enjoy it when cooked within the context of the atelier.
Riche finds it difficult to appreciate anything that isn't meat, and Oruggio as well has been established as someone who tends to prefer meat over vegetables, and generally both are characterised by having a bit of an unhealthy balance in their diet, yet when the food is lovingly prepared in the atelier, they end up eating balanced as well as enjoying the food.
Tetia is always focusing on how to make everyone happy, doing summersaults just so that her friends are comfortable, and it can really be seen in the way Qifrey cooks, making sure that everything is both healthy and enjoyable for his kids. Not only that but he carefully curates the aesthetic aspect as well, just as Tetia's suggestions are frequently aesthetic based.
Both Agott and Oruggio have this tendency to overwork, to avoid eating with the others when they can do the same in their rooms while they work, and yet when their friends prepare a meal they are both filled with wonder and give in to the noise and chatter to be close to their family.
Through sheer chance (ok. chance and Qifrey's plans) they have come together as a family and found they actually have both difficulties and skills in common, and any adversity they can overcome by dealing with it as a family.

I also want to add that it's revealed by the end of the chapter that he bought an extremely expensive version of it and used that without thinking about it all for qifrey
Everyone loves to talk about that panel in Witch Hat Kitchen where Qifrey's smile goes wobbly around Olruggio, but I find it equally important to mention this one, where as soon as the girls express how comfortable and happy they feel, Qifrey makes that face and then blasts the door open to make everyone (including himself) cold and uncomfortable. He cares for them so much it literally kills him.... Oh it hurts my heart.

DUDE i think this symbol means something. like it even turns up in nolnoa's shop the starry sword as early as like, episode 8, i think?? this is from chapter 13, and it's just after the staircase river situation. look at the symbol on the cabinet. it's also in the anime! I definitely think it's intentional and I think it means something other than beldaruit = iguin, it might be connected to something before the day of the pact perhaps. a secret society? idk? just my guess
Speaking of this symbol, even Adina has it on her earrings! Sheâs head librarian of the Tower of Tomes, so I do think it is surely a symbol related to the agreement on the day of the Pact⌠perhaps worn by those in important positions?
Considering what all these characters have in common (though Mr. Nolnoa might be a stretch, we donât know enough about him to be sure), I think itâs a symbol of knowledge and/or truth-seeking.
