Sorry to break it to you but you literally have to face your fears and slaughter them. Otherwise you will live a small life that you do not want. You literally have to view your biggest fears and attack them head on. You have to fall into the abyss to find your way out. The easy path does not exist. There is no get out of jail free card. You have to allow yourself to die a spiritual death over and over again in order to reinvent yourself into the person you are actually supposed to be. And you have to be painfully honest with yourself and the people around you. It’s horrible but it’s truly the only way.

huh. I did think "learning a sequence of coordinated movements" might be a general sort of skill separate to the particular nature of movements, but I guess I didn't think I had gained that skill when I made improvements in the performing sequences of coordinated movements — having assumed what I'd done was more memorized and practised them over a long time and improved at the particular moves but not a generalized ability to acquire them

however apparently I am now significantly above average at learning a line dance within a few repetitions. well, compared to a bunch of programmers. which maybe doesn't say very much in an absolute sense. but if you'd seen past me it says an extraordinary amount

there was a popular race happening in my city last week. i was passing through the areas. found myself envying the runners, thinking i should've signed up! (silly, ridiculous. but it's meant to be a very open thing, there's like a walk/run 5k also) they looked really cool. and weird! the runners i usually see are of course weird in the particular way athletes are. but they're also very alike. this one had such a diversity of people! and also many very pretty ones.
