Cw mention of CSA
Antis will claim that they are “protecting children” but then call people who harm fictional children pedophiles. But as a victim of CSA myself, I find it super offensive and harmful when these antis throw around the word pedo to anyone and anything that mildly makes their fragile little brain uncomfortable.
No. People who fantasize fictional children are NOT pedophiles because for someone to be that, they have to have harmed real children. A real child that I used to be when I was assaulted.
So by calling everyone who harms fictional children a pedophile, you’re dismissing my trauma and experience by reducing it to ***fictional kids being harmed*** and you’re actually helping real pedophiles who harm real children like me get away with it easier because now people have associated the word with “dark fiction” instead of real life harm, thanks to you.
So it’s antis who ARE harming real children because they want to protect fictional ones. Fuck off.
I was a CSA victim, and I say “let dark ship enjoyers write whatever they want”. They’re not harming real kids like you do.
Not to mention, a lot of victims like me use dark fiction to help us cope with our trauma. So not only are antis helping actual pedophiles get away with harming real children easier, they’re also calling CSA victims pedophiles because we write about fictional things that make them uncomfortable (even though we never force anybody to read our shit).
I don’t want to see these people claim to be good people ever again.
I’ll never forget the fanfic space on wattpad back in 2016-2017’ish where its culture was that writers would not post their new chapters until they reached x amount of votes (kudos) and comments. I mean I’d never judge anyone for how they chose to update their fics even though I didn’t agree with them. but like. it was the entire wattpad fanfic culture back then that made most writers believe they had to set these specific numbers of votes and comments that they must reach first before they posted the next chapters. so if you were on the fanfic corner of wattpad during that time, you’d most likely have seen fics where it said in the chapter something like “50 votes and 20 comments for the next chapter!” and it was literally the norm and so normalized that I didn’t see anything weird about it back then. but looking back, years after I’ve left wattpad for ao3, yeah that culture as a whole was weird and it shaped writers into thinking that they wrote for the sake of shallow engagement instead for the joy of getting to create, it shaped writers into thinking that their fics’ worth was decided and dictated by strangers’ approval. and then tiktok became a thing and this mindset continued. not to mention how wattpad is full of ads now unless you pay the site monthly for a premium, ad-free service.
so like. man, this is why I love ao3. there’s none of these capitalism or algorithm bullshit on ao3. just writers creating out of love and passion. everybody say thank you ao3
the thing about ai witch hunt is that instead of spreading awareness about why and how ai can be harmful, people focus their energy on harassing other people instead. so instead of actually achieving something, fandom space and the internet as a whole just became twice as toxic because people have found a ✨noble way✨ to tell other people to off themselves and get praises for it. you’re not helping. you’re part of the problem
I have a feeling that the next chapter of The Two Valeries is going to drive away all those who started following my story in hopes of some light-hearted erotic entertainment. Chapter 19 is going to be a journey into the heart of darkness.

I think a fandom becomes more interesting when people are allowed to explore uncomfortable ideas instead of pretending they don't exist
happy merc day
"That pairing would never be canon" and what of it? I'm only supposed to ship what the church tells me to or something?
Can't believe I actually managed to push out Chapter 18 of The Two Valeries. Finishing this story seems to be getting harder with each chapter. I can't remember much else about the last three weeks than doing this. Once again, I'm teetering on the brink of total burnout. I hope I have only five chapters left like I've planned, because I don't think I can squeeze any more blood out of a rock. I've ended up cutting several chapters from the story already, and the ones that are left are essential to the story. At my current writing and photography rate, it takes three weeks per chapter, so The Two Valeries should be finished by the end of the year. By then, I've been working on this for over a year and a half, with hardly any breaks. I think I might be in need of a long vacation after this story is done.
