01/03/2016 "I think about the future and I see infinity. So many possible lives, so many places I could live in the world. Having no strings attached anywhere is pure freedom, but sometimes I feel a bit like those cartoon characters, in which they realize they are in the middle of the air. And that's when the fall happens. Is there such thing as too much freedom? Too many choices? Are we, humans, really able to deal with an infinite number of choices? Or is it so painful to make decisions, that we structure our lives based on imaginary rules that limit considerably our number of options? Is it necessary to see only one or two ways possible, instead of millions, to be truly content? I don't know. I only know that, today, my infinite number of possibilities scares the hell out of me. And I don't know if I'm paralyzed by it or running nonstop. Is it possible to run and be paralyzed at the same time? 23/08/2017 “Que es el tiempo? Siempre que hablo de ti la gente me pregunta ‘pero cuánto tiempo estuvisteis juntos?’ y ya veo que quieren cuantificar algo que es incontable. El tiempo cuando es vivido basado en sensaciones no se cuenta.. no se mide.. que sé yo cuánto tiempo estuvimos.. en la vida real se calculan los días, los minutos, las semanas.. pero en nuestra burbuja?Imposible. Que fuera una semana, sería poco? Un mes? Cual sería el tiempo aceptado por la sociedad para que seas considerado alguien importante en mi vida? A mi, un minuto bastaria. Marcado eternamente en mi memoria. El tiempo... un concepto tan abstrato y a la vez actuamos como se fuera tan concreto. El tiempo.. Cuánto tiempo dura una sonrisa? Tic, tac... Cuánto tiempo dura una mirada? Tic, tac.. Las tuyas? Eternas. El sonido de una voz, el olor de un cuerpo... como se cuantifican sus tiempos? El encaje de un abrazo, el tocar de las manos... 1, 2, 3, 4, ahh.. el tiempo.... tic, tac, tu boca... tic, tac, tu espalda... tic, tac, tu manera de ver el mundo... 11, 12, 13, 14... el tiempo sigue. La memoria se queda. Cómo decir que nuestro tiempo se ha acabado si sigue en nuestras cabezas? Y cuando hablo de eso la gente piensa que te quiero aquí a mi lado, que te echo de menos.. pero cómo explicar que nuestro tiempo ha sido completo? Hecho perfectamente en el tiempo que tuvimos para que sea eterno? Que un poquito más y lo haríamos olvidable... estuvimos en la medida justa. Perfecta. Un recuerdo lindo. Eternizado. 29/02/2012 “I lie down in the hammock, I feel the warmth of the sun in my face, I smell the ocean breeze, I think about this moment. This exact moment. Nothing more. Just feelings. Just sensations. Pure happiness in the simplest of forms. It’s so easy to feel blessed, to feel like it doesn’t matter why we are here, what we should be doing or how to make the world better. Because all it matters right now is how easy it feels.. and good... and fulfilling.. to simply be. People talk about meditation a lot, but sometimes I wonder, if they would just stay still for a few minutes in a hammock, on a couch, in bed, wherever. 16/07/2019 “The thought of going instead of staying has always fascinated me. It’s been all about “leaving” my whole life. Leaving this school, leaving this town, leaving this country, leaving this job... constant change, constant beginning, constant excitement. It’s been 31 years of feeling I had to be somewhere else. I didn’t know where I had to go, but I knew it wasn’t where I was. Sometimes I thought I found it! But in a few months it was clear, this isn’t it. Now, I still don’t know. But I think I might have found it. Or maybe I just got tired of searching. Now I got a place. You can come visit me tomorrow or in 10 years, that’s probably where I will be. 29/03/2014 "What do you see when you look at your past? Do you see smiles, giggles and happiness? Or do you see stress, anxiety and worries? Or maybe boredom and empty moments filled by tv, computers, video games? Do you feel like the things that seemed important back then are still important now? Did you make the right decision most of the time? How many regrets do you have? I thought a lot about my past today... I thought a lot about you. I wish I knew your answers to those questions. I wish I could understand. But I can't. So all I can do now is think about my own past. Answer those questions myself. And, more importantly, use those answers to guide my future. 07/04/2012 "Is it possible that our brain can only absorb so much beauty? That after seeing a certain amount of impressive views we just become numb? Uruguay was astonishing and Argentina has been just as breathtaking, but we keep going north and the landscapes never get ugly or common. They just keep showing us over and over how amazing nature can be. The thing is... even though my eyes see beauty and my brain understands how amazing everything is, my heart is getting numb.. The awe feeling is getting weaker and with that comes guilt. I start wondering, shouldn't I be more impressed? Shouldn't I be feeling ecstatic? I guess there is such thing as too much beauty in one's life. That moment when you start taking everything for granted. I don't want to be like that. I don't want to see amazing things and not feel amazed. So, I don't know.. Think I'll cut my trip short and you might be seeing me sooner than we expected.. Might just hop on a plane in Bolivia and make my eyes used to the urban scene again, so I can feel amazed once more. Do you think that is all just silly thoughts of mine? Or do you think it makes any sense? Have you ever lost the sparkle like that? Let me know your thoughts.. I might simply be overacting for no reason, maybe is nothing more than PMS. 27/09/2017 "Another friend that I say goodbye to. Another end. Another chapter finished in my story. Another time to see something new. I've only been here a few months, but I feel like I've known you my entire life. And I can't help wondering, is it really worth it to leave people I love just to give my eyes the wanders they want to see? To give up on this friendship. On our exchange of thoughts while watching shooting stars at the beach. The intimacy we had almost instantly sharing a 6-bed dorm for so long. 23/07/2017 "I've met you in paradise. Nothing more than just a few days, but, still, they left a mark just like my tattoo. Sometimes I like to relive those days in my imagination. Your birthday. That BBQ. Our long talks. My fascination towards you. Towards your childish smile and protective hands. 16/11/2014 "Last time we spoke you simply sent me a message saying that you missed me. I replied "Miss you too". And that was it, we haven't spoken ever since. Why is it that we do this? That we say things, but don't do anything about it. I know you meant it. I know i did too. But sometimes I wonder if we really miss each other or if we actually miss the times we spent together? You miss me from years ago, I miss the you from years ago, and we can't let go.. but those people don't exist anymore. And the two that do exist can't even have a fun conversation anymore. 02/10/2012 "People watching. Remember when we used to sit in the park and just do that all day? Or when we used to share the same hammock just each reading a different book? We've always just connected like that, no need for long conversations or proof of our feelings. We were just there, together, linked through some kind of chemistry, some weird force. Until one day the force that used to pull us apart was stronger than the one that kept us together. And that's ok. Now here I am, in Madrid, watching people live their lives. I'm alone. I'm happy. 12/09/2017 "A friends's mom advice: when you are traveling and you encounter those old stone walls with hundreds of years, touch the stone with your whole hand. Feel the history of that place, hear those voices from the past. Understand that your hand is touching something that belongs to an era way before you existed. Well, here in Singapore I had to touch the walls as well, almost in an instinct. Not because I'm feeling the past, but because I'm feeling the future. Don't know why I keep thinking this place represents our future, but I do. It isn't about the modern buildings or their urbanism. I don't even think is about all the cultures mixed here in harmony. 22/06/2017 "Ninh Bình is truly a hidden gem in Vietnam. Not that people don't go there or that it isn't famous, but is more about that a lot of people just come as a day trip, do the Tam Coc boat ride and leave. But if you stay a bit more, get a bike and explore the surroundings, I guarantee you'll be amazed. At least I was! I guess that's true in most places.. but, in Vietnam, making an effort to get out of the regular path seems vital to be able to really fall in love with this country.
