i love ao3 as a platform to read on but as an author? ugh. i just feel like wattpad in 2015 had a much better community (i wasnt on ao3 at that time so idk if its a time thing or just a platform thing)

some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

Poseidon and Sally being good co-parents is really healing something in my child-of-a-divorcee heart. Sally can JUST summon him and he will JUST arrive.

"you won't want to hear it"/"no, but tell me anyway" MEANS SO MUCH TO ME. Like yes! Poseidon bearing part of the mental load means a lot to me.

@prettygalswag Yeah but it also makes Poseidon seem like an even bigger deadbeat. He was literally standing right next to Percy and didn’t even say a word to him? Even Hermes spoke to his demigod kids. I GUESS it was for Percy’s protection (after what we learned in episode 6 about Hermes’ family), but then why doesn’t Poseidon just say that?

@cjbolan so this is an interesting and valid take! But also, Hades's kids were almost massacred just for being his and his wife was successfully killed. In my opinion, "when he's ready" is a perfectly suitable timescale given what he might have to do (from Poseidon's perspective). He may have to run from his dying mother as the DiAngelos did, and Percy is not prepared to do that at age 12. He might have to fight the king of the gods or something, and that was a five year old.

Poseidon hates to stand back, but getting involved? That seems like it will hurt more.
