its been like 2 weeks but i just got hit by the realisation that this post isn’t nonsense and i think i’ve deciphered its meaning: its an alignment chart of players based on what alignments they choose for their characters, chaotic neutral fucks up the game the most, so its chaotic evil, etc. it makes so much sense and im a little angry.
if you play a spell caster, reblog with the one spell your character constantly uses as a crutch.

Okay I don’t normally play, I make adventures to DM for my players.
But hooooly fuck.
Tural goddamn Summai, one my players, the Aasimar fucking Sorcerer.
I had underestimated my level 1 player group’s damage and power, a mistake I never made again mind you, and had a miniboss with about 50 HP. My first time DMing a completely original adventure to be fair.
I thought “Oh okay this will be a good hard fight.” I was wrong.
The 3 player party had already had 1 round of combat, getting the miniboss down to 40 HP. And just so you know, this whole fight was made specifically to kill an ally, the mother of the child this giant ink monster was taking the shifting form of. But god fucking damn it, I never thought giving this creature a vulnerability to fire damage would do this to me.
“I cast Fire Bolt” She says. She rolls a twenty. Okay I say, this is fine, as long as she doesn’t roll two tens on that goddamn d10 I’d be a okay.
But she did. But she DID.
For those of you who never learned basic math, (10+10)*2 equals 40.
And 40hp minus 40dmg is 0hp
TLDR: Always test your enemies before you use them, or your players could keep an NPC to the end of the adventure who gives them a grotesque advantage to the final boss.
Oh yeah and the crutch spell was Fire bolt, if that wasn’t clear.

One of my favorite deities in a game setting is Cayden Cailean, a man who got super drunk, said "hold my beer, I got this" and took an impossible test that made him into a god.
HELL YES! I love Cayden Cailean! the accidental god. he also (if I remember correctly) made his pet dog into a divine being once he became a god. The other part I quite love about his story is not only did he get plastered, he actually took the test of godhood on a drunk bet, and then said hold my beer.

on an unrelated note, Starfinder’s Alien Archive came out today and I’ve gotten to read through some of it and now I am very excited and want to run starfinder but I won’t have time till at least one of my other two campaigns finishes since I’m Gming both of them and have other stuff keeping me busy. but still, now I have rules on how to outfit a giant space whale as a starship and can attack unsuspecting PCs with a baby sun with glowy tentacles for its mouth
also there’s a picture of a blue dragon with a shoulder mounted lightning canon and if that’s not just super cool I don’t know what is.

oh my dear friend, you make a mistake, Clerics can make powerful healers, but that is by no means their only role. There are plenty of spells that a cleric can prepare that do not heal, and depending on what edition you’re playing, they can channel negative energy rather than positive. So YES! Clerics of a death god are not only possible but probably, and extremely fun and cool. you get an excuse to cast spells like slay living, and depending on if that god of death is friendly to undead, you can raise your own army. there are a whole bunch of ways to play a cleric besides a healer.

THE TRUE UNPROBLEMATIC FAVE
Come to think of it I never actually found a single reason to dislike him. To my knowledge he’s just a goofball who likes food.
Okay, so as far as I can tell, the whole thing people kinda roll their eyes about is Guy Fierei’s whole presentation. He’s loud and he’s got the bleached hair and he kinda seems like the annoying frat bro chanting “Shots!” at a party.
But.
Dude’s biggest show on TV is one where he drives around and highlights tiny restaurants that make good food. (And they do- I found my favorite pizza place in town because it was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.) And they’re all little places, usually run by family or something, making food they love. So he’s doing an amazingly awesome thing for these small restaurants, driving a lot of business to them. I found this article that’s talking about how places see a definite bump in sales, and they can even tell when a repeat airs, because they’ll still get emails and stuff.
And there’s the fact that every time he goes out to film an episode, he invites a kid along from the Make-a-Wish foundation- actually, he invites their whole family, so no one feels left out. Apparently, that happens on all his shows, which is pretty amazing. Again, this is because of his sister- she was diagnosed with cancer as a kid, and beat it, though she died of melanoma a few years ago. So because he went through that as a kid, he does a lot to help out families who are dealing with that sort of thing. It’s pretty awesome.
I admit it, I’ve made fun of him before, because he does have that whole attitude that kinda grates. But when you put that aside, he’s a dude who’s enjoying himself, helping out a lot of people, and talking a lot about food he thinks is delicious. So good for him. There’s worse things in the world.
I have always and will always love guy. he’s such a big goof…what’s not to love…
Y'all Guy is wonderful. He got his start on Next Food Network Star and I remember that season very vividly. I saw it as a kid. He just wants people to have fun while they eat. That’s literally his only goal. There was a challenge where they had to make cupcakes for 5 year olds and everyone made these boring ass cupcakes like ‘Oh they’re decorated like the 4 seasons see its educational’ and they were criminally dull. The only thing that was changed was the frosting. And Guy comes up and starts making all these crazily shaped sushi cupcakes. Like cutting them into goofy shapes, making them bite sized, modeling them after dragons and stuff, it was so cool and the kids were EXCITED. He gets what makes thing fun on a fundamental, basic level. He’s not a douchebag frat boy. He’s that crazy uncle you were always excited to see at family gatherings.
Go watch Guy’s Grocery Games. Its on Hulu. He’s so goofy and fun and he’s just as excited for the winners as the winners themselves. The show really makes me happy to watch.

one misunderstanding that bugs me about alignment charts is how people think chaotic good is somehow less good than lawful/neutral good, or how lawful evil is less evil and chaotic evil is more evil or w/e
But also how people think a chaotic neutral person is inherently less dangerous to society than a lawful evil person
Well, technically lawful implies you would respect the rules of a society. It’s just that when your Lawful Evil, you actively seeking loopholes and get tricky to do your evil. In most organized societies, chaotic is what’s going against their rules. A chaotic good character can still steal and be a theif, harming a society, while a lawful evil character would actively work with society to stop them.
Morally, yes you are right. A chaotic nuetral person, according to most people’s morals, is less dangerous to people. Morally, evil is evil. But in a society, chaos is what is working against you.
I would just like to point out: the rules, the ONLY rules in pathfinder for lucifer, the devil himself, have him as lawful evil. The root of all evil is lawful. So I don’t want to hear ANYONE ever say lawful evil is less evil.
assuming you’re talking about this stat block, that was created by a third party publisher, not paizo, I’m fairly certain lucifer doesn’t exist in pathfinder canon, so that seems a rather poor comparison to make for in the rules
