really good text from my sister in law
batman not being in birds of prey is so funny to me bc its like once he hears about harley’s situation, he fucks off to a different country for a “vacation”, and gets the occasional update from alfred that’s like “well sir, she blew up the ace chemicals.” and bruce is like:
and then he goes back to doing weird justice league grade bullshit detective work.
Alfred: she got a hyena
Bruce: oh shit
Alfred: she named it after you
Bruce: Aww
this has been the only good addition to this post
Sending love to anyone who is just… tired.
Of the bills. The responsibility. The emotional labor. The constant pressure of trying to make life work for themselves and the people they love.
Be gentle with yourself. The caregiver deserves care, too.
Ex-libris by the Catalan artist Alexandre de Riquer (1856-1920), made around the year 1900. These ones are some of the examples preserved in the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC).
An ex-libris, also called bookplate, is a kind of printed stamp at the beginning or end of a book that says who owns it (think of the stamp you surely have seen in the books owned by a library). Though ex-libris have been used since ancient times, their "golden age" in Catalonia was during the Modernist movement (the Catalan equivalent of Art Nouveau), where many bookworm people commissioned artists to have a beautiful personal ex-libris that they could use to stamp all their collection.
The text in the 1st one, written in the Catalan language, says "no matter how much you know, there's always much more that you don't know" (per molt que sapies es molt mes lo que ignores).

if you have to rely on specific scripts or turns of phrase to socialise that's totally fine, but you must NOT reveal them to your friends while slightly drunk. it's like showing how the magic trick works, you can't do it in front of them afterwards
i like dogs a lot but i can never remember the differences between breeds (apart from the few types i've actually owned/interacted with). but i know people looove their dogs and love talking about their dogs, so whenever im talking to a dog owner i'll ask what breed it is, and no matter what breed they say i'll say "oh! i've heard they have a really nice nature :D" and they always go YESSS THEY'RE GREAT and start gushing about their dog and we have a nice conversation and i build social credit with this person. anyway i told my friends about this script a few weeks ago when slightly drunk and now every time we're in public together and a dog goes past they turn to me and ask "does that one have a nice nature?" im in a hell of my own making
do you fuck with my unwritten story
do you fuck with the weird guy i made

My wife, @foldingfittedsheets gave me my first present of Hanukkah.
The cost of being married to an artist.
I told my wife yesterday that I started with the snake. Then I did the rabbit. They were appalled.
“The rabbit was second?! You had other options, and you chose to make that rabbit?”
I nodded. Then I’d done the giraffe and couldn’t think of another long animal so I googled it and found weasels and went perfect! And drew my wiggly weasel.
