"lock in" is probably one of the most important phrases to enter the public lexicon in the 2020s
Dahling you simply must read this book! Itโs all about this devious little caterpillar who simply gorges himself on all manner of divine things
every 4th of july I think about the american tourist who was like oh thank god youโre open I wasnโt sure if youโd be open today and I was like why wouldnโt we be and he said because of the holiday. in norway.
When I was a little boy, girls used to just do random cartwheels for no reason. Then one day, they stopped. Now that I am a man, no women randomly do cartwheels. This is because society is evil and killed the cartwheel impulse in their soul. They don't even spin horizontally anymore. It's fucked up.
i think we should start openly mocking male creatives who can't figure out how to write women. like actually i think it's embarrassing that it took elliot page transitioning for christopher nolan to give him a good role. why did it take like ten years to get the first female lead in a marvel movie? why is it a Known Fact that stephen king can't write women? why is 50% of the population omitted from large ensemble works? i asked my friend to name a movie directed by a man with a majority female cast and he said ghostbusters 2016. ghostbusters. ghostbusters. g
can we go back to acknowledging that ignoring someoneโs chosen pronouns is always misgendering, even when youโre using neutral ones instead
if you want an excuse for your lolishota rant...im all ears ๐ ๐
ooooh yay :3
how do i start this off,,, im against the sentiment that lolishota is inherently bad or makes you a risk to real children, or that it should be illegal, or that people who view that type of art should be put on a list etc etc
but people take that as "oh so you're all for child sexualization and such in anime" and NO! i am also against that. and those will seem like hypocritical beliefs but it makes sense once you can understand three different phrases co-existing:
"Your kinks/fetishes are not above societal influence or exempt from questioning"
"No kink/fetish makes you inherently immoral or wrong"
And, most importantly in my opinion
"No sexualization without liberation"
This can apply to so many different kinks/fetishes in general, but lolishota is the controversial one that I personally see get the most hate and that people are the least understanding for.
You cannot control your attractions, and fiction is always the safer alternative to exploring them, as opposed to repressing that attraction or partaking in it in real life (this can be applied to all sexual attraction-- you can't get an STI from reading fanfic on ao3, but it is especially true if you're a paraphile, including the big 3 for obvious reasons, but also some nonharmful paras like objectum because things that are not made to be safe for sex will be, shocker, unsafe for sex). You're allowed to put your fantasies onto paper and that does not mean that you want or encourage them to become a reality. Fetish content has a right to exist and can be very beneficial for many.
That being said, we do have plenty of media that sexualizes fictional children, including outside of lolishota, and despite what I just said, I think that's wrong. How? Because these medias go beyond just being a healthy fetish a lot of the time, and begin to affect real people. Such as in many animes where women will often have slim body types with no signs of aging (other than breast size, because of course) and will speak in higher-pitched, childish voices that are inaccurate to how Japanese women truly sound. Or, many of these animes will contain school girls instead of women, and will sexualize them as children which has led to things like being more likely to be sexually harassed or assaulted in your school uniform in Japan (if i remember correctly). Why is this the case? Because attraction isn't respect, expressing and indulging in sexual desire towards another group does not mean you respect them.
It is also a problem with the general porn industry and sex work industry. Many men who look at porn and such are not thinking deeper about their attraction to women and what they mean or why they are attracted to that, nor do they let themselves wonder how and why they view women outside of sexual context, and they often don't care about how the content is actually made. In other words, we live under a patriarchy, and the sex industry exploits that fact by reinforcing patriarchal ideals through sexual indulgence. However, that does not mean being attracted to women is bad, or that watching porn or similar things are bad. You can just enjoy those attractions intentionally. You can unlearn the misogyny you've been raised with as well as make sure you're viewing ethically sourced sexual content of women and you can support women's liberation and such. And even if you're still into kinks like sadism or misogyny or anything that involves being aroused by harming women, you can acknowledge that those are only okay in a consensual, fictional sense without attempting to cause actual harm towards women and that if you recognize that you do have a desire to truly hurt women, you can pause and learn to cope and work through that (which fiction can help with) as repressing those feelings could lead to acting on them someday.
The same thing can be applied towards lolishota and the like. A lot of content that's lolishota or that caters towards lolishotacon is made by people who do think it is okay to act on sexual desire towards children, or who do not care about their liberation, struggles, or them as a whole outside of when they can benefit from them sexually. It's a part of why so many of these lolicons/shotacons will then go and say horrible stuff about children, insulting their visual appearances and intelligence and mocking them for any concern they show, just generally being adultist towards them. They do not view children as a marginalized group deserving of liberation and equality, but a nuisance and obnoxious detriment to our society who only have value when they provide benefit and gratification for others, specifically in a sexual manner for them. Which is the same way so many view women, nonwhite people, trans people, gay people, etc., and yet you can still be attracted or sometimes even have sexual relationships with those groups without it making you a bigot. The difference between the ones that do and the ones that don't are whether or not the person views a group as deserving of liberation and respect and can see their value as an individual and as a people-group, not just as a means to get off on. The same thing can be applied with attraction towards children, except with some additional things because children cannot consent to sexual relationships with adults or performing sex work for them, hence why child prostitution is just child sex trafficking and why "child pornography" is an oxymoron that can't exist and should instead be referred to as CSEM/CSAM, so the only way to explore attraction towards children is through fictional means like lolishota, which don't involve real children being sexually exploited or abused.
Basically, the same way it's wrong and exploitative to benefit from sexual content made about trans people, black people, hispanic people, women, gay people, etc without being pro-liberation for them, it is wrong and exploitative to enjoy lolishota and the like without being pro-youth liberation and advocating for that. But it is possible to enjoy that kind of sexual content without it making you a child predator or in support of child predation, or making you adultist as a whole
I hope this makes sense !!
i really thought the point of "being lgbt+ doesn't absolve you of racism as a white person" was that white people arent absolved of racism by being marginalized but it really seems like people think other marginalizations make it okay. no being disabled doesn't do it. no being poor doesnt do it. we need to fight against racism actively no matter what.
