spuffy stans still exist? oh lord I thought by now ppl would have enough critical awareness to know that a show that was once praised for its “#girlpower” that spike’s ‘redemption’ in the later seasons is the “woman changes man” trope to the t. which depends on him only getting a soul bc he “felt bad 🥺” for nearly raping buffy, of which her trauma stemming from her assault isn’t even fully touched upon and is instead pushed aside in order to prop up spike. and the last season is devoted to romanticizing their relationship and buffy has to hold his hand thru it.
