I am literally such an easy person to satisfy. Give me a snack, hold my hand, kiss my forehead, look at the moon and stars with me, hand me a wild flower.
My heart will always be soft. I will never stop looking for the good and love in everything. You can’t take that away from me.
may the universe be softer and kinder to us this september
sorry everyone
Excuse me.
One of the first women to start her own independent production company.
Earned her way to stardom without sleeping with executives for roles.
Refused to date people for publicity just because 20th Century Fox wanted her to.
Left 20th Century Fox because she refused to let them get away with treating her badly and paying her a tiny wage, just because of her “dumb blonde” image.
Was only paid a fraction of her co-star’s wage even though she was the star of the movies and the biggest box office pull, but still went ahead with the movies because she was so passionate about acting.
Studied method acting at the Actors Studio with Lee Strasberg, who said that she was one of his best students along with Marlon Brando.
Had a personal library of over 500 books and rarely read fiction - she was desperate to learn and educate herself.
Was sexually abused as a child but then went on to encourage the sexual liberation of women in the 1950s.
One of the first people to speak openly about sexual abuse.
One of the first people to openly support gay rights.
Supported many charities such as the Milk Fund, March of Dimes, Arthritis and Rheumatism foundation.
Donated her time and money to these charities.
Visited orphanages and hospitals on her own time to surprise the people there.
Married one of the greatest literary minds of the 20th century
Suffered two miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy and still put on a brave face for her fans.
Sorry, did you say she wasn’t a role model?
marilyn is my biggest role model so don’t even go there
and let’s not forget this
Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at the popular Mocambo, in Hollywood, because of her race. Marilyn, who loved her music and supported civil rights, called the owner of the Mocambo and told him that if he booked Ella immediately, she would take a front table every night. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. After that, Ella never had to play in a small jazz club again.
“She was an unusual woman – a little ahead of her times. And she didn’t know it.” - Ella Fitzgerald about Marilyn Monroe
But what does history remember her for?
She is such a inspiration to me, especially in today’s youth…
Seeing the diversity in holland’s mv makes me so emotional. Like I really hope he gets all the love and support cause he actually deserves it. Like he could’ve been a problamatic dick who doesn’t care for wlw. But he put black women, drag queens, wlw, biracial couples and problably people of diffrent sexualities like that makes me so happy. And even just the song is so inspiring like we usually get sad songs all that of that ( not saying thats bad) but he’s just out here living his best life and being so brave. Truly WE STAN
Can somebody who understands what the hell Youtube is doing explain to me why this music video that literally just dropped is age restricted? Because the artist is gay? There’s a gay kiss in it? Holland is an openly gay singer in South Korea, the first openly gay idol there, he recently earned the number one spot in the annual Dazed 100 list, yet he doesn’t even have an agency, isn’t allowed to promote on music shows due to his sexuality, yet he’s one of the bravest people and made this song and MV to send an important message. The video showcases people of all races, a gay couple, a lesbian couple, an interracial couple, a drag queen, all kinds of representation and diversity, and he literally deserves nothing but the best but instead constantly faces discrimination, setbacks and censorship. Before debut, he sent his first song to different labels and two wanted to sign him until he told them he wanted to promote as an openly gay singer, which they wouldn’t allow. They wanted him to hide his sexuality, and he could have done that, but he refused to do so, choosing the harder path. Holland had to do everything by himself and he succeeded. He’s faced bullying for years and was outed when he was in school by a former friend who he confided in, after which he attempted suicide, but was saved by the words of a friend who told him that his existence isn’t wrong. He’s the epitome of a fighter. Recently, he lost a dear friend who was also LGBT+ to suicide and after that, he reached out to his fans on Twitter with encouraging words and kindness, offering them support and someone to confide in if they needed someone to listen to them. He knows how much it matters to have people validate you, care for you, be there for you. He often communicates that to his audience. He’s an incredible person. Why is his video Rated R?
I’m not afraid (2018)
not to sound like a total u-haul lesbian but i’m ready to fast-forward to the future where i’m a successful lesbian in the field of my choice and i can go back to the nice apartment i share with my gf and give her tons and tons of kisses
my field of choice is lesbianism.
over-explaining everything because you’re scared of not making sense or people thinking you’re stupid
the thrilling sequel: under-explaining everything because you’re afraid of being seen as a rambling mess
the stunning conclusion: wildly varying between both based off the most recent way you’ve fucked up

I love this
Omg
oh my god
how come no one talks about those days where your mental health just crashes down randomly and you start feeling ashamed of yourself because you were doing so good and now you feel like a complete failure because you can’t figure out where you went wrong.
TESSA THOMPSON CAME OUT
pda is only cute when gays do it
me: [considers coming out to someone]
them: [says something homophobic]
me:
Remember: if you think you don’t know any gay people, it’s because the gay people in your life know they’re not safe around you.
I cant wait to be the healthiest version of myself
