I made this side blog (yes side!) for my fic on Ao3 called By Any Other Name

It's a NottPott fic and I just wanted to make a space where I can share future ideas and reblog and talk about NottPott and HP!!! It's in my bio but once again I state: I do not support JKR. At all. She's a despicable human being and I would fight her.

I had a dream where Harry accomplished his animagus form and it was a Pudu Deer and Sirius cried so hard when he saw it.

Theo had cuteness aggression every time Harry transformed and he heard the little click clack of his hooves.

Dream Sirius helped Harry accomplish his animagus transformation when he was 14 apparently so Harry came out looking like a pudu fawn

One of my favorite crossovers for Harry Potter is for sure Addams Family and I was wondering how I would frame a story in that crossover myself and of course add NottPott!

So I decided to write out the thoughts here!

I don't know what I'd call it yet but I got a couple titles lurking in the ol' brain.

• When You're An Addams

• I'm Crazier Than You

• Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc ("We gladly feast on those who would subdue us".)

• The Addams Family Vacation (And What Came After)

Or something else!

But basically it would start with the Addams Family having a vacation to England, in this au Wednesday and Pugsley are twins why? Idk really but I guess because in the original series Pugsley was older than Wednesday and then the movies happened and though their ages weren't confirmed, Wednesday's actress (Christina Ritchie) was 11 in the first movie and so was Pugsley's actor (Jimmy Workman). So I just decided to make them twins. There's no staying true to timelines as I want Harry to be young when he meets them. I do know though that it's set 6 years after Family Values which would make Wednesday and Pugsley 19 and Pubert is 6. Harry is 4!!!

Pubert wanted to play at the abandoned park they had seen during one of their midnight walks so of course Gomez and Morticia agreed. It was perfectly delightful! It was run down, rust made everything squeak and it was getting overtaken by nature! Simply marvelous!

Pugsley decided it was the perfect place for a picnic and dragged Wednesday to a bar they had passed to grab some food.

It was as Morticia and Gomez watched Pubert terrorize some lizards that they heard small sniffling. They both recognized it as a child but when they looked at Pubert they realized it wasn't coming from their child so the two parents started looking. Morticia had the thought to check the collapsed slide and looked inside and saw indeed, a small child curled up in it. Her heart broke at the sight.

It took a lot of coaxing and the promise of snacks that Pugsley and Wednesday brought back before the small thing crawled out. The first thing Morticia noticed was the beautiful bright absinthe green eyes that looked at all of them. She also noticed how the dear was way too thin and bruised. It lit a fire in her. Children are precious beings and she hated to see them so obviously mistreated.

It took more time and before the small one was ready to talk. He had eaten very little but looked as though he ate a full course meal. Gomez had asked the little one his name and the answer broke her heart further. It was a name not uncommon in their family but this child was not from their family and Morticia knew perfectly well the name was given out of hatred. "Fweak."

Of course Gomez had the same thoughts as her but gave the boy a bright smile despite them. "A good name! We had a cousin Freak but he changed it to Frank and became a real-estate agent! And I had an Uncle Freak but his full name was Freakenstein. Good man, Uncle Freak!"

It got him a small smile. Pubert seemed to grow bored of his food and asked....'Freak' if he wanted to play. He poor thing looked at Pubert as though he hung the stars and nodded so fast, Morticia was worried he got whiplash. "I've never been allowed to play before..."

The rest of the evening passed and they learned that 'Freak' got lost running away from his cousin and his Aunt Marge's dog. He confessed in a tiny voice he didn't know the way back to his cupboard. ....That led to more conversation that was frankly, heart-breaking.

Then it came time to go back to their London Property and Pubert refused to leave 'Freak' so he latched onto him and said they were brothers now and....well...how do you argue with that? Lurch, who had met them in their hearse limo gave the boy a small smile and wave and when Grandmama met him she fell in love with him. She was delighted and informed them all that he was like her, he had magic. That word caused a mini panic that took a while to calm but once it did, 'Freak' looked happy to know there was someone out there like him.

The more he stayed with them, the more the Addams were planning on taking him back home to Jersey. That was solidified when Pubert declared that he was now a big brother! And 'Freak' was his baby brother.

Freak was later renamed to Harrow Hellebore Addams.

And back home to Jersey he went! And Harrow, nickname Harry, loved it! Though he no longer held the title freak he learned to embrace it and embrace it he did! He was proud of his family and his "freakishness" and was all around happier. Grandmama taught him spells, though her specialty was potions. She spoke about learning magic and how eventually her wand was snapped but she trained until she could cast wandlessly with little effort. His new family was thrilled he had magic, even his new siblings that he learned held a little magic themselves or were Magi-Carriers were happy for him. (The American version of a Squib as Americans believe that "Squibs" are still important just carry magic until they pass it on to their children. They trust that Mother Magic knows what she's doing and many Magi-Carriers (referred to in short as Carriers or Holders or Vessels. Depends where in the States you are) go on to have successful careers in Potion Brewing, Rune Carving, Magical History, and other professions. )

They learn when he's 8 that his birth name was Harry James Potter as he had gotten subscriptions to any and all Wixen newspapers and magazines and he and Pubert were waiting for their favorite entertainment, laughing at The Daily Prophet, when there was a picture of Harrow when he was a baby....and a headline declaring that Harry James Potter was missing.

Harry gets the love he deserves in this au and the family he's always wanted.

Even though he found out his birth name, he still kept the last name Addams. Gomez and Morticia added on to his name to honor his late birth parents so his name became: Harrow Hellebore Jaime Hyacinth Potter-Addams!

Jaime [Hai (like Hi) - mei (kinda like may)] in honor of James as this name is often seen as an alternative form of James.

Hyacinth in honor of Lily since Morticia and Gomez immediately saw the pattern of flower names since Harry remembered his former aunt being called Petunia and when they took Harry to New Jersey's Sprigolde (America's Gringotts) (not canon just my imagination) Branch to find out more about him being the missing Harry Potter they found out his birth mum's name.

It's during that trip to Sprigolde's they do a full inheritance and revelation ritual and cleansing because of course I must add bindings and curses and the whole shebang because I will absolutely take every chance to bash Dumbledore! (　＾ω＾)

They find out about Sirius and see he was marked as illegally incarcerated so they plan a jail break! One that Pubert and Harrow were not allow to participate in which they were very upset about but at least they got to go on a mini vacation to London again which was very nostalgic for them. The little terrors ♡

The jail break was successful and a very confused by delighted Sirius is adopted into the family. He has no problem giving up his Black surname as he left the heirship to Harry anyways. So Sirius becomes Uncle Rigel Sirius B Addams and he takes a (highly illegal-that Grandmama brewed) permanent voice changing potions that changed his accent to sound more like a mix between Gomez and Grandmama which made sense since he was blood adopted by Grandmama and Grandpapa (they had vials of his blood still which Sirius learned not to question). [Harrow still has a slight British accent but it's hard to hear sometimes]

Harry was Blood adopted by Morticia and Gomez. His hair is still curly but it turns to a deeper black to match Morticia and the curls tame a bit more like Gomez [naturally curly hair Gomez my beloved]. He also inherits Morticia's cheekbones and that thing where her eyes always look highlighted by a mysterious light source. It makes his eyes stand out even more. Especially since he doesn't wear glasses since the blood adoption seemed to fix his eyesight.

Uncle Rigel fits right in and now he has a new niece and nephews alongside his godson/nephew his godsonephew if you would and loves it.

He still goes to Hogwarts as Gomez loved the legacy of the tales Sirius told of the school and was adamant Harrow go. Not that Harrow was against it but he would deeply miss his family. Sirius moves to the UK once more so he can be closer to Harry but he absolutely makes sure his new family can visit whenever they want as they set up international floos (which do exist in my au but they only work if they are installed in family homes that belong to the same family). Wednesday goes along with Sirius as she is curious about the terror she can spread in the UK and Uncle Fester goes too to join in.

This will feature slightly unhinged Theo like my hopelessly devoted au who like in that au, becomes instantly intrigued and smitten with Harry. The fact the Harrow is more unhinged is wildly attractive to him once they are older, but once he first meets him he just feels understood and they become fast friends.

But Harrow absolutely gets sorted into Gryffindor. (Gomez and Sirius are so proud.)

He absolutely terrified so many people and Dumbledore is absolutely spitting mad that he lost control over Harry. He tries to get him back under his thumb but he'll find out quick that you can't control an Addams! More so a Potter-Addams

Okay but am I the only one that is mad that apparently Dumbledore, Moody, and Mrs Norris are able to see through Harry's Invisiblity Cloak.

It's supposed to be a powerful artifact created from Death's own cloak! I get that it shouldn't be like infallible or whatever but it seems comparatively weaker as opposed to the other two Hallows and that just seems like bad writing to me. Like whenever it fails it just feels like a cheap plot device.

All that to say-

Here are my headcanons for the Invisibility Cloak for my fic By Any Other Name but also just in general!

[Before we start: Fuck JKR. She is an awful human being and I hate that she made HP as it's something that has brought so many people together and inspired so many artists and writers and it sucks that the property belongs to a trash fire of a person.]

~Headcanons ~

☆ It grows with its user. Like as Harry grows it will always cover him head to toe and it can cover whoever is with him but only because Harry has Peverell blood. If someone else (say Dumbledore) used it, it would merely cover them.

☆ It cannot be seen through or detected by any one not of Peverell blood but if someone is nearby they get an unsettled feeling. No matter how many reveal spells they use they will never uncover the person under the cloak but the unsettled feeling will never go away. Or if they don't feel unsettled they feel weirdly warm until they start to slowly feel cold in the presence of the cloak.

☆ It muffles the voice of the wearer but again, only if they are of Peverell blood! It's more like the voice of the Peverell descendant cannot be heard, or if it is, it is naught but the faintest or whispers! but if they had someone with them they would be heard. Or if someone not of Peverell blood wore it, they would be heard if they spoke unless they performed a spell to muffle or silence themselves. This applies to their footsteps as well.

☆ Masks scents unless-You guessed it!- the wearer is of Peverell blood. Well actually, it emits a smell that any creature or those of creature blood is familiar with. Most commonly, the scent of a passed loved one is emitted.

☆ It can protect it's wearer from minor spells and jinxes and if they are of Peverell blood it can protect them from higher classes of spells and jinxes. But it cannot block/protect from an Avada

☆ It cannot be spelled with tracking charms or anything unless the spells are cast with the Elder wand. Though if it was being examined it can have a diagnostic charm cast on it, but only if it allows it.

☆ Yes! The Cloak is semi-sentient!! But it only awakens when in contact with someone of Peverell blood! And since it's been in the Potter family for generations it has been around the blood longer than the wand has been thus is more sentient. The Cloak and Stone are equally sentient but the Stone has been corrupted due to the horcrux and is doing it's best to fight it. The only reason why it could even become a Horcrux is because Tom is of Peverell blood!

☆ When someone reaches the title of "Master of Death" the Cloak can become whatever it's wearer needs. Like say Harry wanted it to be a more convenient shape to covertly carry it around and it became a scarf that looked like an ordinary scarf. It can become a pair of plain robes in any color but it cannot add details, it can be a hat, or shirt, or handkerchief, etc. As long as the thing the wearer wants it to be is cloth.

But it can change size even before someone gains the title of MOD for a wearer if the wearer is of Peverell blood! But it won't do it immediately. It will only do so once it "bonds" with its user for an extended period of time.

Here's my half-assed take on Harry's cool lightning scar: Scarface x2

In which Hogwarts 8th year is THIS close to being a normal school year. SO close. Harry's scar starts acting up though, (not dangerously but as an anomaly (that might as well be a danger for all Harry knows)) but the trio is trying to chill for once. It's the slytherin's who'll try a hand at unraveling Harry's mystery instead. Mainly Theodore Nott because I'm obsessed with the fan-concept idea of him and so should you.

Theo staring at Hari because he is still asleep, which is rare: "Look at him."

Theo continues to stare but he knows Dobby is in the room because the elf likes to alert them the moment the morning tea is ready: "I would die for him."

Theo's formerly besotted smile turns a tad bit bloodthirsty: "I would kill for him!"

Finally, Theo sighs like a lovesick idiot: "Either way, what bliss."

Dobby who just heard all that: "Dobby thinks Master Theo is an idiot. But Dobby agrees."

NottPott/TheoRy to me give major TwiYor vibes! Like Harry can be scary and deadly but like he's also goofy and a lil oblivious like Yor while Theo is serious and focused and deadly but also fond and sweet like Loid. Difference being that Theo actually acknowledges his feelings XD

I have another NottPott idea rolling through my head so I figured I'd post it here to save it and whatnot since I don't want to lose it!

I'm thinking of calling it Hopelessly Devoted!

I'm a fan of darker tropes but haven't written one and kind of wanted to try my hand at it. Essentially the idea is that Theo meets Harry on the train to Hogwarts as Harry got there early because the Dursleys wanted to get him away as soon as possible and Harry luckily caught a family passing that had similar items like him and he watched them vanish into the wall.

He followed as sneakily as he could as he did not want to be noticed after learning he was famous and luckily was not noticed so he found a compartment early on and got settled after wrestling with his trunk longer than he'd like to admit. Theo is a very punctual person as is his dad so they arrive early as well. After saying his goodbyes to his parents he goes in search of a compartment and curiously feels his magic leading him to one towards the back. He trusts his magic so he follows. He's not shocked to see someone in the compartment but he is shocked by the beautiful green eyes that meet his once he steps into the compartment.

My idea is a yandere Theo which isn't a new idea but like I said I want to try my hand at it. My thought is that it's a Nott family thing where anyone born in the family isn't really interested in much until they find their perfect person. Not so much that they don't feel any emotion until they meet their fated one but more so they do feel emotions they are just somewhat dull and not much captures their attention until they meet their fated one. The one whose magic calls to them.

Harry is of course that person to Theo and he's one of the few to meet his fated one so early! He's ecstatic. To the point he immediately proposes. I mean legit on one knee, hand held out to Harry and one hand over his heart. Harry is caught off guard but thinks Theo is silly. He doesn't really know what Theo is talking about, what with him being extremely sheltered thanks to the Dursleys. Harry is a little more naive than in canon when it comes to information, including relationships. So when Theo asks him to be his betrothed he latches on because he wants a friend and Theo seems to like him which never happened before so he says yes. Theo gives him a ring of his for some odd reason, I headcanon this Theo to be obsessed with jewelry because of his mom. The ring is one of the many portkeys back home he has because his parents are so paranoid about his safety so he doesn't think twice about giving it to Harry.

Harry is amazed when it automatically resizes to fit him and since Theo is his friend and betrothed (maybe that means best friend in the wizarding world?), Harry happily asks how it does that and Theo immediately begins talking about runes and when he sees Harry is still interested and even asks him good questions, Theo falls more. He's basically patting himself on the back for a good fated one.

No one bothers them in the back because it's known that the older students claim it and when some older kids spy the two first years excitedly talking to each other they don't have the heart to tell them to move. Theo shares his packed lunch that his mother made with Harry who is so grateful that he hugs Theo tightly. Theo takes the opportunity to feed things to Harry because "It's what my mother and father do for each other and they were betrothed so it's fine." When the trolley witch comes by, Harry does buy sweets but not everything because Theo is there and gives his recommendations.

Harry returns the favor of Theo feeding him by feeding him sweets.

It's because of this whole journey that once they get to Hogwarts and Theo is sorted into Slytherin that Harry follows. Sure Hagrid said Slytherin was bad news but how bad could it be if that's where Theo goes? He's so happy to follow his friend that he doesn't even notice the stunned silence that follows. He's oblivious to much going on around him because he and Theo are talking once more and stunned silence happens once more because the two don't notice that everyone is basically watching them and Theo just fed Harry some food from his plate. And then Harry did it back.

Baffled. Everyone is baffled!

Malfoy was going to make a comment but he's so disturbed by the smile Theo has that he merely settles on talking with Pansy and doingnhis best not to look at Theo and Harry.(Nott never smiles! Never! It's unnerving!)

No one really knows what to say so they just decide to ignore the two but not Blaise, he's enjoying the tension. So he promptly introduces himself and everyone else at the Slytherin table is trying their best not to gawk at him. Harry happily shakes Blaise's hand while introducing himself while Theo merely clasps the boy's arm once and smugly introduces himself as "Theodorus Erik Nicomedes Nott. Harry's betrothed." And Harry happily shows off his ring.

Several older snakes choke on their food or drink.

Dinner passes in that fashion and once they are in the dorms and given their welcome speech and Snape comes in to give his own, Theo is ready to throttle the old man for all his pointed comments and sneers and glares at Harry who loses his smile and silently looks at the floor while standing so stiffly. Theo vows revenge. When they are sent to their rooms, thankfully Theo and Harry are sharing a dorm with Zabini, Harry is still quiet.

It takes a while for him to come back to Theo and Theo vows that the revenge will be worse than he was originally planning. Then they're getting ready for bed and Theo spots the...rags his beloved lays out on his bed and immediately lights them on fire. They are most definitely not worthy of touching his beloved's skin! Harry is understandably upset but Theo immediately grabs a set of his pyjamas and hands them to Harry.

It takes a while before Harry begrudgingly takes the offered pyjamas and goes to change. When he comes out, the pyjamas are bigger on Harry than Theo anticipated but he thinks Harry looks adorable. He somehow even convinced Harry to sleep in Theo's bed with him because "My mother and father do it and they were betrothed so it's fine." (His excuse but it's not an excuse because he actually believes it 💀)

The headboy sees this when he goes to check on them but just marks them as being there and goes on his merry way. He's almost done with school anyway and the boys aren't doing anything technically wrong so he lets them be.

Theo is so very protective of Harry that the other Slytherins catch on fast. They of course tried to hex Harry or confront and bully him but they quickly realized why that was not going to fly. In the first week alone, Theo sent eight upper classmates and Crabb, Goyle, and Pansy to the infirmary. One upperclassman decided to go for Theo instead and he was also sent to the hospital wing by Harry. It's also during that first week that Theo bumps Snape up his enemy list for how he treated Harry during their first potions class. Ronald Weasley is also on the list for how he tries to make Harry his friend but also how he yells at Harry for "betraying" them all. Snape is the bigger threat.

It's not until their second month at school that Theo enacts his revenge. He had been following Snape for days with Harry and they realized that Snape kept going to the third floor which was off limits and that he also confronted Quirrell a lot. Theo decided on a karmic curse. Harry believed it would be mild but Theo knew how nasty the older man was to everyone but especially Harry and he knew whatever came to be would be big. Either permanent injury or disfigurement or death. Theo is fine with either.

They perform the ritual to complete the curse of Halloween/Samhain as Theo explained its significance as a Sabbat and how powerful it was. Harry asked Theo to help him honor his parents since he learned that was the day his parents passed and Theo was all too happy to help. It seemed symbolic.

After performing the curse in an abandoned classroom on the third floor they decided to skip the feast and just go to the library. On their way down though, they heard crying and Harry of course followed it. When they realized it was the girls' restroom Theo refused to go in as it was not proper so Harry spoke from outside it. It's as Harry is coaxing out Granger that Theo smells it.

He turns and sees a Merlin-damned-Troll lumbering towards them! He starts yelling at Granger to get out because there's a troll and Harry looks scared. But Harry, his beloved, is a courageous idiot and runs into the girls' bathroom and grabs Hermione. The only reason Theo didn't run despite the troll getting closer and closer is because he refuses to leave Harry.

Next thing they know, they are running for their lives and yelling for help. Snape rounds the corner and doesn't seem to notice the troll just yet as he seems to be taking sick pleasure 6 yelling at Harry and grabbing his wrist so he can't run as he takes points (from Gryffindor....) the children are yelling at him about the troll but they barely manage to yank Harry away from Snape before the trolls club hits the man.

He's not dead. (Sadly)

Of course Harry and Hermione try to distract the troll from getting another hit in and that's finally when the other teachers arrive to see Harry, brave foolish Harry, yell out lumos and basically blind everyone but including the troll and then all three kids start to try and drag Snape away. (They don't see the other teachers. Theo isn't really trying.)

The troll dropped the club but was getting to close to them and Theo would never let Harry get hurt so he wingardium leviosas the club up and aims it true high above the troll and releases the spell. He didn't think he had dropped it from that high but once the trolls skull was crushed in he guessed it was higher than he thought.

There's no lying from Hermione. Theo and Harry explain how Harry didn't want to go to the feast because he found out today was the day his parents passed and Theo didn't want him to be alone so they simply relaxed in an unused room and when they decided to leave they heard Hermione. Theo greatly enjoyed explaining that things could have been avoided if not for Snape. The only one who looked sorry for the man was Dumbledore. McGonagall gave them points and that was that.

Professor Vector took over as their head of house as she was a former Slytherin. Snape wouldn't be back to work for the rest of the year due to his injuries. The board of governors appointed Theo's mom as the interim potions professor which Theo was very pleased with. He could finally introduce his beloved to his mom! Letters didn't do justice!

The rest of the year passes well. Hermione became Harry's friend and Theo's begrudging acquaintance. They somehow stop Hagrid from trying to hatch and raise a dragon. Theo gets his mom and Professor Vector to sign a permission slip for him and Harry to self-study defense due to all the headaches Harry got in the class. Harry got an invisibility cloak for Christmas that had Theo suspicious since Harry got to come with Theo and his mom home for Christmas since his mom had access to the floo and Vector gave her permission as Harry's head of house.

Quirrel went missing which was weird and Dumbledore kept trying to get Harry into a meeting alone but Theo made sure Professor Vector accompanied him each time. And each time she got progressively more irritated as each meeting was not about school at all and she got pissed when it seemed like Dumbledore was disappointed that Harry didn't try to stop Quirrel.

Theo's dad, Erik, did bind the Dursleys though, and let Harry out of the room. Theo cried for the first time since he was a babe at the sight of his beloved so skinny and hurt. He could smell the blood and felt it when he ran and hugged Harry to him. Theia immediately set to heal him while the aurors arrived.

They were appalled that this is how they found the Boy-Who-Lived. One of the child services members tried to take Harry but Theo snarled and yelled that Harry was his betrothed and they had a right to take care of him according to ancient law.

Stunned silence. Even from Erik.

Harry shakily shows off his ring and the silence is stunned once more.

Harry gets to go with Theo as he heals and an investigation is launched.

Part two/headcanons for @moonybemine

After Harry is taken in by the Notts under the Ancient Betrothal Sanctuary Law, he is immediately healed by Theo's mom, Theia, as she is a certified healer. But she does decide to take him to Gringotts for further testing and healing and of course, Theo goes as well. This will be a salt/bashing story if people couldn't tell so the results are less than flattering for certain people, namely Dumbledore but they don't know that just yet like in BAON but this does raise many alarms and adds onto their case that they file with Amelia Bones.

Of course, this story will have the basic inheritance test trope but with my twists!

They find out about the Horcrux early on but the goblins aren't able to remove it just yet as they have never had to do so on a human before and will need to research. They can however help contain it better once they find out that Lily Potter's protection has formed a sort of cocoon around it to protect Harry. Erik is shocked and disgusted that the man he formerly followed went that far. In this au, Erik never actually got the Dark Mark because he was able to smooth-talk his way out of getting it despite his father's pressure to get it. But he did believe in a lot of what Voldemort promised them and preached about, but after learning this he is so glad he never got the mark.

Theo immediately demands his father help him in his crusade to rid the world of Voldemort as Voldemort is now the highest on his Threat to Harry list. He basically is like, "Either you help me or I do it without you and add you to that very list. And I will do anything to protect my fated one. Anything."

He says it so casually as though he didn't just subtly threaten patricide. Erik is disturbed, offended and proud. Theia thinks it's adorable. (Theia and Erik match each other's freak of course she finds her son adorable. Despite him looking like her, he's like a little mini Erik in personality. Most likely due to the family Blessing/Curse.)

That's when the goblins inform the family that the piece of soul in Harry is small, like uber small, which means Ol Voldie has more Horcruxes. Theo had never heard his father swear as much as he did then. Erik agrees to help rid the world of Voldemort however he can. And apparently that means making sure Harry Potter is happy and loved because love is helping fuel the cocoon around the bit of soul in his head. He knows Theo will have no problem with that but he is only 12 (I headcanon that Theo's birthday is in September like Hermione so he's a little older than Harry and some of his yearmates) and Harry needs familial love according to the healer goblin. So Erik looks through the test again and sees that Sirius Black is not only Harry's godfather, but also his blood adopted father, and oh would you look at that...the test even acknowledged that Black was illegally incarcerated. Illegally incarcerated!?

Yeah! Sirius will get out a year earlier than in canon but this time legally because Erik is a man of his word and a man on a mission and he will get Black a trial if it's the last thing he does. (Is it because Theia gives him these eyes when she thinks he's being competent or is it because he loves his son but is also scared he might get poisoned? Both.)

Sirius won't get his trial until the kids are already at Hogwarts but of course, he's found innocent! He's happy to be free but oh so angry and baffled that his baby son/godson is already betrothed and the fact that the ancient betrothal law was called into action at all. It means he will have to live with the Notts if he wants to be around Harry at all before he is healed fully and found to be a fit guardian under the Ancient magic of the betrothal law and Mother Magic.

While that's going on second year is in right form for Harry and Theo. No platform mishap as Harry and Theo are early and Dobby chickened out with how closely guarded Harry was by Erik and Theia.

The ride to Hogwarts was uneventful except for Hermione joining the boys and thanking them once more for saving her. Harry has already adopted her into their group but Theo isn't all too pleased. He's less so when Blaise joins too. He wanted the journey to be just him and Harry! But...Harry looks so happy so it's fine...

What's not fine is that Snape is back and apparently resuming his role as professor and Head of House.

And he was already glaring at Harry.

Oh and also that Lockhart guy who is staring way too much at Harry too....

And Ginny Weasley who is also staring way too much at Harry and who made a big scene about not getting into Slytherin with him.

Theo has so much to do....sigh....

Little Headcanons:

• Harry finally looked up what betrothed meant and is so baffled yet happy that Theo likes him enough to want to marry him. But he absolutely does not tell Theo that he thought betrothed meant like best friend in the wizarding world. After learning the truth he is a little shy with the affection he's given but he also initiates some himself. Mostly just hugs and holding hands but even that has him blushing so much.

• Theo makes a list of ways he can get rid of Snape. Especially when he finds out his mother was not informed of this change until she arrived for the feast through floo and was told her services were no longer needed. Professor Vector was equally not informed and it has her pissed because she heard from so many snakes how they prefer her and how even though Snape favored them in public, he was just not a great head of house. She still checks on her snakes because she had emotionally adopted all of them. Even the jerks.

• Harry is a little more unhinged this year but like he doesn't know that because he spent his whole summer with Theo and his parents and all of them are unhinged in their own ways. He's a little darker in how he deals with people but he thinks it's normal and appropriate and it doesn't help that Theo is encouraging of this behavior.

• Every time Snape lives through another of Theo's assassination attempts, which Harry has no idea of truly, he thinks Snape just has insanely bad luck due to the Karmic Curse from first year (it only lasted the year, if they wanted it to keep going they would need to renew the ritual but Theo doesn't tell him that), but anyway, every time he lives, Harry is just like:

Which motivates Theo to try harder.

• Gilderoy dies early because he made Harry feel uncomfortable whenever they had his class and Theo would not stand for that and dealt with him swiftly after Lockhart tried one too many times to get Harry to stay behind class alone for no legitimate reason. (Yeah. I always got slimy vibes from Gilderoy, more than the usual y'know? So I do portray him as being more sketchy but everything is softly implied)

• Harry does know that Lockhart's "accident" wasn't an accident and it's the first time Harry kisses Theo on the cheek. It's purely innocent and out of gratitude and love and they both blush for like a whole day and can't hold eye contact for long. It's the only kiss that happens between the two until fourth year.

Lockhart's accident is after he vanishes Harry's bones during quidditch.

Hell yeah Harry made the team!

For his skill, for the fear of Theo and now Harry, and because Cassius Warrington was annoyed with Snape and Flint and everyone else he feels was bringing down the team. So he might have blackmailed Flint into making the better choice of seeker.

• Theia adores Harry and dotes on him almost as much as Theo does.

• Lily's protection manifests more in this au in little ways. Not extremely as it's doing its best to contain the Horcrux but like sometimes Harry will feel this urgent sense of danger and just like turns around. Or Harry will be physically dragged a couple of steps away from someone.

I have another NottPott idea rolling through my head so I figured I'd post it here to save it and whatnot since I don't want to lose it!

I'm thinking of calling it Hopelessly Devoted!

I'm a fan of darker tropes but haven't written one and kind of wanted to try my hand at it. Essentially the idea is that Theo meets Harry on the train to Hogwarts as Harry got there early because the Dursleys wanted to get him away as soon as possible and Harry luckily caught a family passing that had similar items like him and he watched them vanish into the wall.

He followed as sneakily as he could as he did not want to be noticed after learning he was famous and luckily was not noticed so he found a compartment early on and got settled after wrestling with his trunk longer than he'd like to admit. Theo is a very punctual person as is his dad so they arrive early as well. After saying his goodbyes to his parents he goes in search of a compartment and curiously feels his magic leading him to one towards the back. He trusts his magic so he follows. He's not shocked to see someone in the compartment but he is shocked by the beautiful green eyes that meet his once he steps into the compartment.

My idea is a yandere Theo which isn't a new idea but like I said I want to try my hand at it. My thought is that it's a Nott family thing where anyone born in the family isn't really interested in much until they find their perfect person. Not so much that they don't feel any emotion until they meet their fated one but more so they do feel emotions they are just somewhat dull and not much captures their attention until they meet their fated one. The one whose magic calls to them.

Harry is of course that person to Theo and he's one of the few to meet his fated one so early! He's ecstatic. To the point he immediately proposes. I mean legit on one knee, hand held out to Harry and one hand over his heart. Harry is caught off guard but thinks Theo is silly. He doesn't really know what Theo is talking about, what with him being extremely sheltered thanks to the Dursleys. Harry is a little more naive than in canon when it comes to information, including relationships. So when Theo asks him to be his betrothed he latches on because he wants a friend and Theo seems to like him which never happened before so he says yes. Theo gives him a ring of his for some odd reason, I headcanon this Theo to be obsessed with jewelry because of his mom. The ring is one of the many portkeys back home he has because his parents are so paranoid about his safety so he doesn't think twice about giving it to Harry.

Harry is amazed when it automatically resizes to fit him and since Theo is his friend and betrothed (maybe that means best friend in the wizarding world?), Harry happily asks how it does that and Theo immediately begins talking about runes and when he sees Harry is still interested and even asks him good questions, Theo falls more. He's basically patting himself on the back for a good fated one.

No one bothers them in the back because it's known that the older students claim it and when some older kids spy the two first years excitedly talking to each other they don't have the heart to tell them to move. Theo shares his packed lunch that his mother made with Harry who is so grateful that he hugs Theo tightly. Theo takes the opportunity to feed things to Harry because "It's what my mother and father do for each other and they were betrothed so it's fine." When the trolley witch comes by, Harry does buy sweets but not everything because Theo is there and gives his recommendations.

Harry returns the favor of Theo feeding him by feeding him sweets.

It's because of this whole journey that once they get to Hogwarts and Theo is sorted into Slytherin that Harry follows. Sure Hagrid said Slytherin was bad news but how bad could it be if that's where Theo goes? He's so happy to follow his friend that he doesn't even notice the stunned silence that follows. He's oblivious to much going on around him because he and Theo are talking once more and stunned silence happens once more because the two don't notice that everyone is basically watching them and Theo just fed Harry some food from his plate. And then Harry did it back.

Baffled. Everyone is baffled!

Malfoy was going to make a comment but he's so disturbed by the smile Theo has that he merely settles on talking with Pansy and doingnhis best not to look at Theo and Harry.(Nott never smiles! Never! It's unnerving!)

No one really knows what to say so they just decide to ignore the two but not Blaise, he's enjoying the tension. So he promptly introduces himself and everyone else at the Slytherin table is trying their best not to gawk at him. Harry happily shakes Blaise's hand while introducing himself while Theo merely clasps the boy's arm once and smugly introduces himself as "Theodorus Erik Nicomedes Nott. Harry's betrothed." And Harry happily shows off his ring.

Several older snakes choke on their food or drink.

Dinner passes in that fashion and once they are in the dorms and given their welcome speech and Snape comes in to give his own, Theo is ready to throttle the old man for all his pointed comments and sneers and glares at Harry who loses his smile and silently looks at the floor while standing so stiffly. Theo vows revenge. When they are sent to their rooms, thankfully Theo and Harry are sharing a dorm with Zabini, Harry is still quiet.

It takes a while for him to come back to Theo and Theo vows that the revenge will be worse than he was originally planning. Then they're getting ready for bed and Theo spots the...rags his beloved lays out on his bed and immediately lights them on fire. They are most definitely not worthy of touching his beloved's skin! Harry is understandably upset but Theo immediately grabs a set of his pyjamas and hands them to Harry.

It takes a while before Harry begrudgingly takes the offered pyjamas and goes to change. When he comes out, the pyjamas are bigger on Harry than Theo anticipated but he thinks Harry looks adorable. He somehow even convinced Harry to sleep in Theo's bed with him because "My mother and father do it and they were betrothed so it's fine." (His excuse but it's not an excuse because he actually believes it 💀)

The headboy sees this when he goes to check on them but just marks them as being there and goes on his merry way. He's almost done with school anyway and the boys aren't doing anything technically wrong so he lets them be.

Theo is so very protective of Harry that the other Slytherins catch on fast. They of course tried to hex Harry or confront and bully him but they quickly realized why that was not going to fly. In the first week alone, Theo sent eight upper classmates and Crabb, Goyle, and Pansy to the infirmary. One upperclassman decided to go for Theo instead and he was also sent to the hospital wing by Harry. It's also during that first week that Theo bumps Snape up his enemy list for how he treated Harry during their first potions class. Ronald Weasley is also on the list for how he tries to make Harry his friend but also how he yells at Harry for "betraying" them all. Snape is the bigger threat.

It's not until their second month at school that Theo enacts his revenge. He had been following Snape for days with Harry and they realized that Snape kept going to the third floor which was off limits and that he also confronted Quirrell a lot. Theo decided on a karmic curse. Harry believed it would be mild but Theo knew how nasty the older man was to everyone but especially Harry and he knew whatever came to be would be big. Either permanent injury or disfigurement or death. Theo is fine with either.

They perform the ritual to complete the curse of Halloween/Samhain as Theo explained its significance as a Sabbat and how powerful it was. Harry asked Theo to help him honor his parents since he learned that was the day his parents passed and Theo was all too happy to help. It seemed symbolic.

After performing the curse in an abandoned classroom on the third floor they decided to skip the feast and just go to the library. On their way down though, they heard crying and Harry of course followed it. When they realized it was the girls' restroom Theo refused to go in as it was not proper so Harry spoke from outside it. It's as Harry is coaxing out Granger that Theo smells it.

He turns and sees a Merlin-damned-Troll lumbering towards them! He starts yelling at Granger to get out because there's a troll and Harry looks scared. But Harry, his beloved, is a courageous idiot and runs into the girls' bathroom and grabs Hermione. The only reason Theo didn't run despite the troll getting closer and closer is because he refuses to leave Harry.

Next thing they know, they are running for their lives and yelling for help. Snape rounds the corner and doesn't seem to notice the troll just yet as he seems to be taking sick pleasure 6 yelling at Harry and grabbing his wrist so he can't run as he takes points (from Gryffindor....) the children are yelling at him about the troll but they barely manage to yank Harry away from Snape before the trolls club hits the man.

He's not dead. (Sadly)

Of course Harry and Hermione try to distract the troll from getting another hit in and that's finally when the other teachers arrive to see Harry, brave foolish Harry, yell out lumos and basically blind everyone but including the troll and then all three kids start to try and drag Snape away. (They don't see the other teachers. Theo isn't really trying.)

The troll dropped the club but was getting to close to them and Theo would never let Harry get hurt so he wingardium leviosas the club up and aims it true high above the troll and releases the spell. He didn't think he had dropped it from that high but once the trolls skull was crushed in he guessed it was higher than he thought.

There's no lying from Hermione. Theo and Harry explain how Harry didn't want to go to the feast because he found out today was the day his parents passed and Theo didn't want him to be alone so they simply relaxed in an unused room and when they decided to leave they heard Hermione. Theo greatly enjoyed explaining that things could have been avoided if not for Snape. The only one who looked sorry for the man was Dumbledore. McGonagall gave them points and that was that.

Professor Vector took over as their head of house as she was a former Slytherin. Snape wouldn't be back to work for the rest of the year due to his injuries. The board of governors appointed Theo's mom as the interim potions professor which Theo was very pleased with. He could finally introduce his beloved to his mom! Letters didn't do justice!
